French Hotel

When I arrived at the hotel entrance door with both my hands holding luggage and bag, the door guide was at the side of the door and wont even help to push open the door. I had to unload my bags on floor and push open the door myself. My room elecronic door lock has problem that it cannot open with key card. The reception offer alternative to provide manusl, physical key , but I requsted o change room, then its ok. The location is good, within short walking distance to many eatery and biskuit shops. The room is very clean. The TV has a good reception. Free Wifi is provided. bath room is reasonbly spacious, shower water is strong enough. Room space is big enough. I stayed in deluxe king room. A deposit Rm 100 is collected upon check in. Paid Rm3 at check in ref. Government regulation.

Our second time at French hotel. We like the location as it is within walking distance of a couple of Chinese vegetarian restaurants. This time we also discovered nearby a fruit wholesaler who sold us some very nice lychees and apples. The hotel is right next to a 7-11 for a 24 hour supply of water and snacks. The wifi was a bit weak in the room this time. The hotel and the room were really clean - kudos to the housekeeping team. The folks at reception were also great. All in all, it was a good stay.

I recently (12/7/2025) stayed at French Hotel in Ipoh, Malaysia. It’s a good place for short term stays with reasonable price! The location is quite close to ipoh airport which will takes about 15 minutes by Grab! Overall, my experience was good, the location was convenient for walking distance to the tourist street and the daily Gerbang Malam night market. The rest of the attractions need to take by Grab.The staffs were really friendly and helpful.

Quite affordable and clean hotel for short stay in ipoh. There is kettle, mini fridge, bottled water. Do bring your own room slippers and toothbrush. There is a 7-eleven beside. Our twin bed bedroom on level 4 faced the main road hence slight car sound.

My family and i stayed for one night. The location of the hotel is very strategic to the places we had planned to visit (Pasar Karat and New Holly wood Cafe).It is very easy to get food as there are few fast food shops and cafes within walking distance. 7 eleven is right next to the hotel which is very convenient. The staffs were also very friendly and helpful. The hotel has very strict rules on safety so we were happy with that. overall i am very happy we chose the French Hotel and will stay here again when we visit Ipoh in the future

Central location, close to amenities- within walking distance to town centre lots of eateries, 7eleven next door, laundry across road. Large clean room, decorated dated and could with refurb, however good location and price.

Overall it's a very good hotel. The room was large and clean, so I had a great time. The hotel is in a good location, about 5 minutes by taxi from the Ipoh station, but the area around the hotel is very quiet and you can sleep peacefully at night. Since you can walk to the center of Ipoh, it is also suitable for sightseeing. Having a 24 hour convenience store next to the hotel was very convenient during my stay.My only regret was that the cleaning staff were talking loudly in the hallway for a long time, and their voices were very noisy.If I come to Ipoh again, I would like to book this hotel again.

Quite large room and cool room. Have 711 just downstairs. Can check in quite early so it’s a plus. Bed not very comfortable.

This was our second stay at the French Hotel in Ipoh, in Perak. The rooms have always been clean; we have chosen the corner room which has its entrance far away on a separate corridor from the bedroom area and its quiet. Convenience store downstairs and located close to dining (Ipoh chicken and beansprouts) and lots of kelapa biskut places. Ipoh Parade is within walking distance. The only negative: on our last day (we spent 4 days there), the front desk person actually asked us to pay for a refresh of towels - which we made a fuss about - and ended up not having to pay. Its little things like that, that can sour an otherwise positive experience.

We made a reservation on Booking.com at 140 ringgit per room per night, breakfast not inclusive, and stayed for 2 nights. Prior to arrival, I had emailed the hotel and response was prompt. On arrival, Wenesa provided a map of the surroundings and gave good advice on where we should eat. The room was clean and comfortable. Basic amenities like towels, soap and hairdryer are provided but not slippers and toothbrushes (though they gave me a complimentary one). The location is central and within 10-15 minutes walking distance to the popular eateries and old town. It's also about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport which should cost about 25-30 ringgit. It's curious the corridor smelt of cigarette smoke though it's a non smoking hotel. Thankfully the rooms were alright.

This is our home away from home when having a short foodie holiday in Ipoh. Large clean rooms, great location and super friendly staff make this a great value for money place to stay.
