French Hotel

My family and i stayed for one night. The location of the hotel is very strategic to the places we had planned to visit (Pasar Karat and New Holly wood Cafe).It is very easy to get food as there are few fast food shops and cafes within walking distance. 7 eleven is right next to the hotel which is very convenient. The staffs were also very friendly and helpful. The hotel has very strict rules on safety so we were happy with that. overall i am very happy we chose the French Hotel and will stay here again when we visit Ipoh in the future

It’s walking distance to several tourist spot and good food, such as Deen Cendol Corner. The hotel itself has directory map in the lobby to guide you which spot you need to go!The only amenities they didn’t give is toothbrush and paste, so make sure bring yours.Room is spacious, clean, bed is quite spacious with medium soft type mattress and pillow. There’s a safety box deposit in room but unfortunately I got broken one on the battery side. Not so important if you don’t need to keep anything there.Check-in and check-out process was smooth.

Overall it's a very good hotel. The room was large and clean, so I had a great time. The hotel is in a good location, about 5 minutes by taxi from the Ipoh station, but the area around the hotel is very quiet and you can sleep peacefully at night. Since you can walk to the center of Ipoh, it is also suitable for sightseeing. Having a 24 hour convenience store next to the hotel was very convenient during my stay.My only regret was that the cleaning staff were talking loudly in the hallway for a long time, and their voices were very noisy.If I come to Ipoh again, I would like to book this hotel again.

Rooms are nice and clean for the price. However we had 1 major issue during our stay: almost unusable WiFi. Very intermittent. Other guests also complained and the staff acted "surprised". In addition there was an Indian market with loud music from 6.30am on Sunday morning right outside. I recommend staying elsewhere in Ipoh.

I paid RM160+ for a last minute booking at French Hotel and was surprised at how spacious the Standard King room is. The toilet is clean and updated and the bed is comfortable. Nearby, I’d recommend visiting the Warung Theatre Cafe, just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. There’s an area in front of the Cafe where you can park your car, since the hotel itself does not have parking inside or around the building.

Great basic hotel to stay in Ipoh. Food are nearby and there is also a 7-11 next door. There is a big parking lot that hotel guests can park free (need to display the hotel slip on the screen to verify that u r a hotel guest).However I prefer to park opposite and pay the municipal fees. Room is clean, the bed is the hard type and I like it very much.

This hotel is located in the centre of Ipoh town with several coffee shops around but they close very early just after lunch time. The room is quite clean considering the age of the hotel. Overall it is a value for money hotel.

It’s a good place for short term stays with reasonable price! The location is quite close to ipoh airport which will takes about 15 minutes! Furthermore, there are many good foods around 1km walking distance. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay at the French Hotel in Ipoh, in Perak. The rooms have always been clean; we have chosen the corner room which has its entrance far away on a separate corridor from the bedroom area and its quiet. Convenience store downstairs and located close to dining (Ipoh chicken and beansprouts) and lots of kelapa biskut places. Ipoh Parade is within walking distance. The only negative: on our last day (we spent 4 days there), the front desk person actually asked us to pay for a refresh of towels - which we made a fuss about - and ended up not having to pay. Its little things like that, that can sour an otherwise positive experience.

We made a reservation on Booking.com at 140 ringgit per room per night, breakfast not inclusive, and stayed for 2 nights. Prior to arrival, I had emailed the hotel and response was prompt. On arrival, Wenesa provided a map of the surroundings and gave good advice on where we should eat. The room was clean and comfortable. Basic amenities like towels, soap and hairdryer are provided but not slippers and toothbrushes (though they gave me a complimentary one). The location is central and within 10-15 minutes walking distance to the popular eateries and old town. It's also about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport which should cost about 25-30 ringgit. It's curious the corridor smelt of cigarette smoke though it's a non smoking hotel. Thankfully the rooms were alright.

This is our home away from home when having a short foodie holiday in Ipoh. Large clean rooms, great location and super friendly staff make this a great value for money place to stay.
