Located in the birthplace of Larry Bird this hotel had me dreaming of luxury and it is beautiful, but I expected better for the price. With its beautiful architecture and interesting history it is certainly a centerpiece in French Lick, along with the sister hotel. Let's talk about what I loved...the beauty, the expansive balconies adorned with rocking chairs, the friendly staff, the relaxing pool, the history, the very convenient shuttle service (which picked us up from the local GA airport) and the beautiful grounds. A lot to like. But none of it matters if you can't get a good nights sleep. We did book last minute and felt very lucky, however the room that we got should never be rented out. It was situated right opposite the lift so all night we listened to guests coming and going and by the time that settled it was time for the cleaning staff to arrive. Our sleep was fraught with restlessness and noise. The room itself was quite lovely and would have sufficed if it were not for the empty conditioner and body wash containers. If you are going to do bulk toiletries at least make sure they are full. It's the simple things that you expect to be done well in a $450 a night hotel. I know I'll get the standard response from management, however they need to fix these problems before they arise.

This is one of my favorite get-away places. Staff is always super helpful and friendly. The properties are always very well maintained. It is a must go for us annually. This place is rich in history. You owe it to yourself to come enjoy this and West Baden.

Google
This was a terrific walking tour of this icon hotel. We have hard about the hotel for decades and this was the fisrt time we were able visit it and the area. Our guide was fantastic!! Five stars all the way. She was able to give us a sense of the hotel and area throughout its history and the famous and infamous characters involved with the hotel. Little know facts were also great,

I had not been there for two years, and it was fine then, but it's cleaner, better maintained, and better stocked than I've seen it in years. My only complaint is the hair dryer didn't work. Had I addressed this, they would have dealt with it. They bedding is so comfortable, and the room was so clean.

French Lick Resort is an amazing romantic family fun getaway. Went here with my wife for our anniversary and loved every minute of our stay. The views, the gardens, the pools, the trails, the rooms were all fantastic. And every single staff member could not have been nicer/sweeter. They were all amazing, kind and super helpful. 1875 the restaurant was fantastic, we had to try the wagyu tomahawk dry aged steak and it was worth every penny.

Google
Historic Hotel does a great job giving you a bit of a back in time feeling without making it inconvenient. Golf is excellent, great place for a guys golf trip. Could use better service options for handling your clubs and getting them to the course. Pools also seemed to lack food service after 5pm, would be great to at least be able to order from the pizza place when poolside.

Google
Bed was so comfortable! Conference area was convenient. They had started to build out some holiday decorations. Rode the trolley to Wesbaden Springs, perfect way to travel over there to see it's beauty.

Google
The hotel is a very well maintained piece of Indiana history. The lobby has a beautifully painted ceiling, comfortable furniture and very friendly front desk personnel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The heat and AC have controls in each room. The bathroom is spacious and clean. ||My only complaints are: since it is an older building the sound from upstairs is very loud. And the AC unit is also very noisy.

Yelp
From the moment I enter through the arch welcoming me to French lick there is a sense of peace that always seems come over me. I find myself taking a deep breath, knowing that I will soon get to "Be" instead of " Do" . This truly is my oasi.

Yelp
I was recently here for an annual event. It was my first time attending. I've gotta say, this hotel is charming! Firstly, and in case you're wondering, I flew into Louisville airport (SDF) and met a colleague who rented a car to drive here. It was about a 90 min drive for us. Parking is free which I love as a person who is usually in areas and hotels where you have to pay or is valet only. Upon arrival, we walked in to a very spacious front lobby area. The staff that checked me in was very friendly and helpful. A room was available even though we were a little earlier than check-in. Clutch! The room is quite spacious and there is enough closet space to hang things up or put things in drawers. There is a coffee maker with creams and sugars. The bathroom has a walk-in showers and amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover wipes, hair dryer, towels, etc.). The TV is direct TV with the regular channels but if you were looking to connect to a streamer service, you do not have access at this hotel. Free WiFi. The gym is actually nice with at least 5-6 cardio machines, weights, and strength machines. They have a water fill station if you have your own water bottle but do provide water bottles in a mini fridge. The cafe in the lobby had premade sandwiches and snacks and Starbucks coffee available. Staff in there was super fun and friendly! I don't know that I would come here on my own but it was a lovely place for someone to host an event!

Yelp
We had a great visit! Need to stay longer next time. My daughter loved all the 4th of July activities

Yelp
French Lick Springs Hotel was the perfect setting for the conference I attended. The entire property has a timeless charm that made the work trip feel like a getaway. My wife was able to join me since it was our anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. The concierge surprised us by having a dozen roses waiting at our table during our anniversary dinner, and everything about the evening was perfect. From the elegant atmosphere to the incredible breakfast buffet the next morning, it was an unforgettable experience. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Writing this review from the perspective of someone who visited but didn't stay at this hotel ... My family and I stayed at West Baden as part of a family Christmas trip and that included time each day exploring the nearby French Like Springs Hotel as well. The shuttles that go between both make taking advantage of both resorts easy peasy. And I was impressed with what we found. This hotel is expansive! We spent the most time walking its hallways and seeing all of the holiday decorations, which again ... expansive. We came across a lifesize (to an elf) Christmas village, and my kids liked looking in the windows and pointing out all the elves and Santa Claus. Everything was so nicely appointed. We ate at Grand Colonnade Restaurant for its brunch buffet and at Power Plant Bar & Grill for an easy family dinner. We got lunch in Pluto's Pizzeria, which had lots of arcade games that kept everyone busy for a bit. (Reviews for all of these to be posted soon!) And throughout, the staff we came across were so friendly and accomodating ... most of all when one pointed out that my kids could meet Santa if we ventured down a certain hallway! Talk about a special experience! I loved my time spent at West Baden, but I could be convinced to get a room here instead. All in all, French Lick + West Baden provide such a unique family experience, one I will cherish.

Yelp
A bit outdated. Most people are old. Though the pools are super nice. The decor is very historic. I like the rocking chair patio.

Yelp
Iconic hotel that makes you feel like you're staying in a legit, actual museum. The walls and floors are decorated beautifully, punctuated by high ceilings and framed artifacts all throughout the hotel. The room themselves have some artifacts as well, including a framed letter dated from 1909 in my particular hotel room. It is attached to a casino that is reportedly very good. Located right in the center of town and within walking distance of numerous shops. Staff are friendly. My only gripe is that the only place to get coffee is a small Starbucks gift shop. I plan to return one day and highly recommend even just a visit if you're in the area!

Yelp
A weekend family getaway and I am in love and can not wait to return. It is the best ambiance and although the rooms need a little updating it was super clean. The resort has everything you need, including indoor and outdoor pools, a bowling alley, hot tub and restaurants. The staff is the biggest feature because everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Bring the kids because there is a playground and movies on the lawn. There is plenty to do and I was so grateful to experience this with my family. Summer is a perfect time to visit. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This hotel? This is a great hotel. French Lick Springs Hotel is a magical place. West Baden Springs Hotel is great, too, and is the other obvious hotel option in the area. But if you are visiting French Lick with children (like I was), then you'll probably want to stay at French Lick Springs Hotel. This is the hotel that has all of the family-friendly amenities, like an arcade, bowling alley, multiple swimming pools and a kids' activity center. We utilized all of the family-friendly things while we were here. We rented bikes at the kids' activity center and biked around the resort grounds. Then, we later purchased a s'mores kit from the kids' activity center and roasted s'mores on the fire pits right outside the center. There was a family-friendly outdoor movie being set up at the same time, and if we were the type of people who stayed up past 9 p.m., we probably would have enjoyed an outdoor movie outside of the hotel. We also visited the indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool has a volleyball court inside the pool, with a ping pong table situated near the lounge seats. You'll find a hot tub among the outdoor pools. There are lots of places to sit and relax, which I appreciated. French Lick Springs also offers other activities, like horseback riding, stable tours, foot golf (like golf, but with a soccer ball), regular golf (a lot less fun than foot golf, in my opinion), and opportunities to hike around the trails that wind throughout the resort grounds. We got one of the double rooms connected by a hallway, which I highly recommend if you can swing it. It's hard to explain, but this set up is basically two hotel rooms with beds and bathrooms in each, connected by a small common space. The beds were luxurious, and the showers in the bathrooms were amazing, and we just basically loved our rooms and didn't want to leave them. But there's so much to do and so much to explore at French Lick Springs that it's silly to spend all of your time in your hotel room. One of my favorite memories about staying at French Lick Springs Hotel is getting ice cream for my children at the in-hotel ice cream shop, and watching them eat it on the porch while rocking on the rocking chairs. My second favorite memory is visiting the ice maker (located outside by the valet area) multiple times and getting rabbit-turd ice. They offer rabbit-turd ice here! And it's free-flowing, and you're welcome to get it when you want. There are so many other things that make French Lick Springs Hotel a great place -- like the rock cave that you walk through that takes you down to the arcade and bowling alley, and the exceptional customer service, and the great breakfast buffet -- but this review has gone on long enough. Stay here yourself, and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Yelp
Beautiful premier room on a weeknight winter getaway! Price was very reasonable for the quality. Many amenities within the building, great staff and service. Casino, shops, bowling, game room and multiple restaurants allow for options even in winter.

Yelp
Nearly everything was perfect here, such friendly faces, and great spots to eat abound. We had the nicest welcome in the room with a lovely card celebrating our anniversary and chocolate covered strawberries. The AM housekeeping staff is incredible for taking care of needs when we interacted with them. We love the Power Plant typically as our go to but we also had pizza in the Grab and Go from the friendly ladies there- that late night pizza hit the spot after our wins. I must compliment the staff at Colonnade and was delighted to see the same server later on at the Power Plant. HIghly recommend the Tenderloin sandwich, mac and cheese and the grilled cheese as quick lunch bites. I also enjoyed a bit of shopping in the hotel and loved the service we received from all of those places. Swimming access was great in the morning as very few were present. I was in at 630AM. Water is warm and perfectly handled. Shoppes close earlier than I would like on weekends when jazz at West Baden is playing where having access to those til 11 could rake in additional money. Slight downside: Not really fond at all of the local Spa in French Lick- two people there were super friendly but I did not like my interaction with a third when trying to pay for Pluto Salts as she would NOT sell to me without having my personal info. She had to have my info to "open the register". Since no other stores in the hotel do this including the mercantile on the opposite end, I could not see why they needed it here and the sale was lost which is a right darn shame. I highly recommend marketing consider making this easier to get the money from the hands who want to buy from you. For nail lovers: The price is for a basic manicure at $85 is ludacris because it's not shellac, or even gel....just basic polish at least per the menu. They do sale mini mani kits if you want to do on your own, the prices seem to range from $25 to $37- some of the kits however needed shaking up- word to the wise as the polish seemed separated on some. The Mercantile: Would love to see later hours, especially for those coming back from the casino or music events. Yes, everything but the coffee is overpriced which is expected/typical in any hotel. However, if your popcorn is 15/bag(unmarked) when chips are cheaper (marked) then perhaps for truth in advertising gains, marking that in the shelving should be done if not on the bag itself. Check out was easy and quick, the gent handling it was friendly and kind. I noted in some other reviews there was concern that a credit card is needed to hold deposits etc even when company is handling bill. This has been the normal expectation where ever we have stayed- they will only charge once- it's just in this day and age, they need this as their insurance for the payment and handling of the bill. For others who noted it was an older hotel, yes it is..it IS historic, it is part of the charm and we love it.

Yelp
Very charming hotel. Great for a nice quiet summer getaway. I'm not a golfer, but I hear they have a great golf course.

Yelp
Came here to stay for a work conference and enjoyed the views and the decor going up for the holidays! The conference hall and rooms were very nice. The rooms are older with peeling paint and showers missing grout and the carpets are in need of replacing same issues I had 8 years ago when I was here. The rooms come with a mini fridge that may or may not work for you and if you want to warm up any food or snacks it's a $20 a night fee and a microwave will be delivered to your room. Do not eat at the resorts the food is overpriced and the same quality as any chain restaurant. If you want steak go to Moo Moo's and if you want bar food go to Legends. Avoid Ohana and if you're really hungry there's a gas station across from the resort that makes everything from pizza to sandwiches and appetizers. Along with a Taco Bell and a McDonald's. The casino is now non smoking and it's super simple and clean and the table games are always fun. Avoid the stores in the hallways selling over priced trinkets and clothes that cost 2/3 of the price off site. The views and drive are wonderful but the price and quality just don't make this a must stay for me. I could stay in Bloomington and drive down here for the after noon to have fun and sight see.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time here. There's lots of history and lots to do here. We stayed one night, and it wasn't enough time to even do everything. I booked my room online, and got checked in right when we got there. The architecture is really nice. It's beautiful here. There's different restaurants to try out. We didn't get in the pool since we didn't have much time, but there's also a garden and horses/stable as well. We didn't get to check the stable out, but will be returning next time. There's also a casino at the hotel. The next time we stay, we will probably stay at West Baden to check that one out. We did take the train ride there (complimentary) to check it out. It's definitely beautiful.

Yelp
Sister history to the West Baden Springs Hotel. While West Baden has all the beauty,, French Lick is a much larger hotel and has all the entertainment. You have endless convention rooms, a theatre, a strip of stores and a casino. Where would I choose to stay? I'd personally pick West Baden because you just can't beat its atrium. But honestly, either hotel is 5 stars in my books and well worth the visit!

Yelp
Just got back from a long Girls Weekend at the Resort. We actually stayed at West Baden but spent lots of time at French Lick Springs too. This place has it going on. Everything is as it should be honestly. Well appointed rooms, super clean, fully staffed. The only thing I would have changed is maybe more clear help with the shuttle services. Staff seemed confused on our questions when we first got there about where we could get on/off the shuttle. Once we got it figured out though we realized our questions basically made no sense since you can pretty much jump on the shuttle anywhere at the resort. Not kidding. Talk to valet, they'll tell you exactly where to go. This was a win, we'll be back next year!

Yelp
If you want to give yourself a treat visit this gem of a spot in French Lick. Make sure you plan a good full day just to walk around and take in all the beauty.

Yelp
For spending $430 on a room I expected the pool not to have a slimy film on it and for our tv to work. Even getting into the hotel I had to track down a bellhop then they acted like it was my duty to load my luggage. The indoor pool's water was warm but the draft coming from the doors ruined the experience because it was SO cold unless you were in the water up to your shoulders. All the times we've stayed at this hotel we've loved it but this trip made us question coming back again. On top of the food being so pricey, my salad had brown lettuce in it.

Yelp
If you're looking for a beautiful hotel with plenty of history, this is it. While we didn't stay here, I opted for a self-guided tour with my mom and brother. The lobby and lower levels are open to the public. We were here in December and it was beautifully decorated, including the biggest gingerbread house I've ever seen. We walked around for about an hour but I could've spent so much longer exploring and marveling at all the details in the architecture. They have a "promenade" of shops and a number of restaurants to enjoy. It was a cold rainy day so didn't explore outside, but we're already planning a return trip in the Spring/Summer to stay this time so we can explore the grounds and relax in rocking chairs on the big porches. The directional signage was all fantastic and it was fairly accessible for mom who is disabled. There was a conference happening while we were there so there were a lot of business folks walking around. There is also an attached casino.

Yelp
Stopped off here while in the area to check it out. So glad I did. So much to see both inside the resort and outside on the property grounds. Beautiful both inside and out. Did a little shopping in the resort. The boutique with pet themed gifts was fun to shop in. Picked up a squeaky toy set for my four-legged family members. The cashier was nice. Also went to the ice cream and coffee shop. Good selection of ice cream flavors. The coffee was hot and fresh. While I didn't stay here, was just visiting the area, I noticed that this resort is pet friendly. Saw a few guests walking their dogs. If you are in the French Lick area, it's worth stopping here to see and learn about the resort.

Yelp
Stayed one night here for a conference. I pulled up to check in and the staff were extremely attentive and professional right from the start. There were younger gentleman working to help with bags and even the person I had was extremely polite. It felt like a high end resort experience. My room was just okay. It was quaint but big enough for just me for the night. The bed was comfortable, but the lamp shade was crooked and had rips in it. For having such a high end experience I was surprised that detail was overlooked. I could also hear people walking outside of my room down the hallway like they were in my room. I'm glad I brought ear plugs! I partook in the breakfast buffet- the price was $26 which felt expensive for what was available. The omelette station was a nice touch, but wish I would have been offered real eggs. There also weren't many options for cheeses. The food on the buffet was lukewarm to cold- biscuits and gravy and hash browns. The coffee did not taste good; it seemed watered down. It seems like the breakfast should either be complimentary or a less expensive up charge. If I came back to French lick I would probably stay again in this resort or the west Baden springs with the beautiful atrium.

Yelp
Honestly, our stay itself was pretty good. But we did have an issue with the room on the last day. I have written to them (Melody Karr, Director of Operations) twice regarding this issue and have not heard back at all. We usually stay at West Baden, but the entire hotel had been rented out for a wedding that weekend. So we chose to stay at the French Lick Resort. We stayed in a "special" room (One that is a bit bigger and is shaped a bit differently to the other rooms.) The room number was 2139. It appears the area we stayed in was for people with pets. We had our service dog with us and specified we did not need a special "pet room" but that is where they put us. And that was ok. We did not complain. They checked us in and out quickly, and everyone we spoke with was gracious and kind. The room was nice (Not as nice as West Baden, but it was a bit less expensive.) They do not supply real glasses like they do at West Baden, but they had plastic ones which were serviceable. On our last day there, my husband bent over in the bathroom to retrieve something he had dropped on the floor and cut his shoulder on a broken part of the wall. (A corner with quite a sharp edge.) It wasn't a deep cut and he wasn't going to mention it, but I insisted on letting the hotel know about this hazard so that they could fix it, and also so that they could make amends to my husband, as any nice place would do. I wrote back to Melody Karr on Monday as she had sent us an email that stated "We are committed to guest service and accomplishing our mission of exceeding guest expectations. I hope we exceeded yours. If there are any details from your stay you would like to share with me, I would be glad to hear from you. Your feedback is important to me." On Wednesday, when I had not heard back, I wrote to her again, giving the same info (And pictures of the broken wall and the small cut my husband had sustained.) On Friday, I sent off another missive asking if she had received my emails, but didn't hear back except to get an automated email asking for a review of our stay. Today is Sunday and it has been a week since our stay. I have not heard back from anyone requesting more information, letting us know that the break in the wall had been repaired or even just a regret about this incident. I do worry that this will happen again, just due to the location of the break. (It's a corner and sticks out a bit.) It's not something either of us noticed until he received the cut. This is small in the grand scheme of things, but small things are important in the hospitality industry. I am not saying not to stay at the French Lick Resort; it is nice enough and the people who work there are all exceptional, but if a friend of mine asked where to stay when going to French Lick, I would highly recommend West Baden over French Lick Resort just due to this unfortunate experience. We love the casino and some of the shops, and the room was fine. I just can't recommend this hotel due to our experience.

Yelp
Took an Indians landmark tour of this hotel and it was great! So much history! It was a little bit due to the cheer convention but we had a great time especially at the casino!

Yelp
Wonderful family trip before back to school! I hadn't been here in 20 years and it had improved exponentially. Last time I was here we golfed and went horseback riding. This time we went bowling and ate at most of the venues. We met up with Mima & Papaw & brother Alex for the All You Can Eat buffet. Everyone found something we wanted. The omelette line was slow. We were happy with all the family activities for our young sons including s'mores, Activities Center, and of course lots of pool time. We also enjoyed the cosmic putt putt golf across the street at shotz. We will be back!!

Debra F.

Yelp
We were there this weekend and it was fun as always. Our black jack dealer, Logan, was tough on our wallet but a lot of fun. The only negative was it was impossible to get anything to eat. You had to have a reservation at 3:00 in the afternoon to get into the only 2 casual restaurants in the hotel.

Yelp
I've tried to like this place but I just can't get on board. It's beautiful and the landscaping is gorgeous but although it justifies it's lack of updates by claiming "design" everything is old and dirty. My room, beyond the antique elements was still dirty and uncared for with carpet stains and general filth, rust on all of the bathroom trims, etc. Amenities are hard to access, elevators are barely operational, even the room numbers are impossibly dirty and hard to see. Do not order room service- I only blame myself for that fiasco as how could a place with this much wrong, ever deliver on a simple sandwich. What's the fascination with this place - I do not understand.

Yelp
I have visited the grounds of the French Lick Resort on numerous occasions, but just recently stayed as a guest two nights. The check in process was friendly, albeit a bit confused as someone had previously checked us in and set our information aside. This meant that we weren't pulling up in the system upon check in. It was quickly resolved, but as we were attending a wedding and I knew the hotel was full - I had a few minutes of uneasiness. Bell service and valet is exceptional. Room was clean, albeit small in size. However, given the age of the hotel, I'm not surprised. The bathroom was small, but had enough of what we needed. Requests for extra coffee, towels, and pillows were generously filled. Our room had a lovely view of the gardens. The market in the hotel with the coffee shop is busy, but they have a few necessities and saved me from a hairstyle emergency. The souvenirs are moderately priced. I scored a couple of Tervis brand tumblers at around $25 each. The hotel staff we encountered were all really great. The wedding staff - servers, bartenders, planners, etc. were beyond impressive.

Yelp
The hotel has one of nicest and best equipped fitness centers I've used. It has a good number of ellipticals and a FULL SUITE of Matrix machines. I was so excited to use all of them and I shall before I leave. Most impressive was that there are .5 pound increments like 17.5 and 22.5#. It's a treat to curl between 15 and 20; it's what I've been missing and didn't know. It had towels and lots of sanitizer and it feels clean. It's also the only place to find free water bottles. The hotel rooms are nice and I like the frosted glass in the bathroom so I can open the wood blinds. UPDATE: I was told the fries and burger at the Power Plant are delicious. My personal experience was a chintzy slice of chocolate cake for $10. The food has good points. The scrambled eggs and rosemary potatoes at a breakfast were excellent, as was the pumpkin bread. The conference break food was also well regarded.

Yelp
Wow. Elegant and chill all in one. The rooms are so comfy. Big ceilings with turn of the century feel is a thing. Staff is really friendly. The porch is a masterpiece so enjoy it. I didn't get to the pool but it sure looked special when I looked from the room. There is so much history here mixed with today's convenience. Awesome hotel and you should take some time here.

Yelp
If you find yourself in this tiny little town and you'd like to stay in a place with luxury, the French Lick resort or West Baden Springs resort which I believe our sister resorts, might be the place to stay this day. I have to say that I didn't find much to do in town, but I went on a Monday and everything was closed. Still there's a cute little trolley that will take you anywhere you want to go in town as well as between the resorts. This resort in particular had a casino, which seemed to have most of the things that casinos have, slot machines, card tables, poker tables, and a high roller room. I was surprised however at the level of dress dress people were wearing at the casino at night. I saw cargo shorts and flip flops as well as tank tops T shirts, and not a lot of glitz or glamor. I figured that there would be a dress code to come into the casino at night but Alas I was mistaken. All in all my husband and I were way over dressed for the vibe. We didn't stay long as it seemed like mostly locals in the town doing their usual thing. It felt a bit like the really old casinos in Vegas that left the glamour behind a long time ago... There was also the regular fare of gift shops and restaurants barestaurants bars and nooks and crannies with which to hang out and enjoy the by the ambience of the resort. In addition to this there is also a spa. I wrote a separate review about the spa but there's a little information here. There's a nice relaxation room for ladies as well as men have their own. If you're a couple going in there's a relaxation room for couples however it was in the the hub and not very relaxing. My husband got us a couple's massage sage which was nice but somehow didn't seem to fit the bill for a couple's massage in my mind. However he also got me a pedicure, which was very enjoyable, and the woman, Bree, who did my toes and my feet was very nice and did an excellent job... However if you want gel nails this is not the place to go as they only have regular nail polish. Since we didn't actually stay in this resort I can only offer what information I have and that's why I'm giving a 3 star somewhat neutral rating. It seemed like it was fairly luxurious, but I found the casino a little boring and the spa a little wanting. Still, if you are close by, you may want to stop in and check it out for yourself. It might be just the place you are looking for.

Yelp
Always a great getaway to a relaxing country setting. Gorgeous architecture from1845.

Yelp
Very rude staff members. They wouldn't let the person paying for the room get a room key because the people staying in the room weren't there yet due to a delayed flight.

Yelp
What a great Fall break and only 2 hours away from home! Greeted with valet and baggage, we were there prior to 4 pm which is check in but that wasn't even an issue, I cannot remember who helped us but she was amazing and extremely kind, worked long shifts and had a positive attitude the whole time. Clean rooms, wonderful staff and loved the crew outside! Trolley rides are complimentary but do take tips. My kids sat up front w the driver and he gave us history between the hotels. When the trolleys were delayed, complimentary Lincoln town cars would drive you back and forth! The pool area was clean and beautiful, although loud, screeching tweens were the worst part echoed in the high ceilings. ( please watch your tweenie daughters- not an adult in sight) The hardest part was to see how lack of staffing effected some of the services, daily turndowns, pool bar closed during the week, etc. We are already planning our next weekend getaway !

Yelp
Not only is this located on a beautiful property but it is also a historic hotel. There are plaques aplenty on the grounds and the lobby is stately. Due to COVID, you can't explore past the lobby, sadly.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my stay here. A first rate facility and a truly unique bright spot.

Yelp
We stayed here for a police conference. Nice hotel with a relaxing little pool. The pizza place near the bowling alley was my favorite.

Yelp
Took the family to French Lick to stay at the West Baden. This resort offers something for everyone in your family. They have two amazing golf courses, horse stables, a bowling alley, hiking trials, a casino, and the list goes on. They also offer pet friendly rooms if you like to travel with your dog.

Yelp
Excellent service, beautiful lobby, and very nice other amenities. The Buffay breakfast was excellent as well and all of the very fair price. Really enjoyed seeing all the children and families in their jammies, dressed up for the polar express close by

Yelp
We stayed here at the French Lick Springs Hotel for my Grandma's 90th birthday this year with my whole extended family. They got a block of rooms set up for us with a group rate. The booking process wasn't great. We asked for a king size bed multiple times and we were told we couldn't have one, but others in the group were are to get one. The rooms with two double beds were quite small. There was really just room for the beds and the bathroom. The resort itself is pretty nice and very large. There's an indoor and outdoor pool which are quite crowded on warm days. There was what felt like a college pool party going on when we were there which felt a little weird for the environment. There's a couple of different golf courses, a casino, some hiking trails, and a second hotel. We went to the hiking trails by the golf course at the hotel. We hiked for about 6 miles. It was pretty much just walking in the woods, but it was good to get outside. Overall, I found the rooms to be more expensive than I thought they were worth, but for a family experience, it's a good place to get together.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful and will leave you feeling transported back in time, especially on the long front porch with all the rocking chairs. The perfect spot for a getaway, the hotel has plenty to do between the pool, spa, arcade, bowling alley, well-equipped gym, casino and golf course. There are a bunch of restaurants to choose from both at the two hotel locations (here and west Baden) and in town. If you want to check out the West Baden Hotel or places in town, there's a complimentary shuttle that drives all around. It's so nice to even just walk around on the hotel grounds. A very nice place to visit with an interesting history. Almost forgot to add there's stores for shopping too!

Yelp
We had a wonderful time for our weekend getaway with a young child. There are two pools, one indoor (partial during summer) and one outdoor with a hot tub. There is also an adults only pool. There are so much to do on site and we had a great time! We loved the live music in the evening and options offered for children during the day. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and look forward to returning due to that! I would love to return in the fall and holiday time!

Yelp
We stayed at the West Baden not this hotel but we did spend a lot of time on this property as they are under the same ownership and trolleys provide free transportation between both - it was also about a 20 minute scenic walk or 10 minute bike ride from our West Baden Resort.

Yelp
Blown away at how beautiful the resort is and serious they take COVID precautions. Nestled away in the rolling southern hills of Indiana is this hidden gem of a resort. Where to stay?: It's was tough decision on deciding whether to stay at the West Baden or French Lick. We decided on staying at the "main" French Lick resort and we didn't regret it. If you're looking to be in the thick of the action, near the casino, other activities, "downtown", I recommend the French Lick. If you're wanting a more calm and relaxing environment, you'll want to stay at the charming West Baden. Both had equivalent food and beverage options. You can easily take the trolley from resort to another which runs every 5-10 minutes COVID: Really appreciated how serious they took precautions. Every day you'll get a new wrist band informing everyone your temperature has been taken. They have several checkpoints to ensure you get your daily screening, also only hotel guests are permitted. All tables in restaurants and casino games are respectively socially distanced. Masks are required everywhere. The only problem was the trolley, one instance where there were too many people on it. Casino: Beautiful and really clean. No smoking inside because of the mask requirement which I really liked. Can't have your drink at the card tables which was a bummer. Max of 3 players at a table, table minimums were higher than usual. So it can be tricky to find an open table sometimes Activities: Highly recommend the horse back riding. Especially the morning ride, checkout my review for the Stables. The bowling alley was also a lot of fun, though it is outdated, manually have to keep score which was a bummer. Regrets: Wish we tried tea time at the West Baden... Only offered on Saturday afternoons

Yelp
This is your pandemic 2020, COVID-19 French Lick Resort report dated August 2020. The hotel is operating at 50% capacity and masks are required everywhere you go. We've stayed here a bunch in the past. And this is really a minor inconvenience. It does take a minute to getting used to seeing everyone in a mask, but this will be over soon and will be back to normal before you know it. Parking is somewhat limited because there is no valet service but the hotel garage has plenty of spaces and only a little bit of a walk.

Yelp
We recently stayed at French Lick Springs Hotel for a company Christmas party and the resort is beautiful. Our room was comfortable and very spacious and everything seemed very clean. The good we had at the buffet for the party was delicious and actually some of the best banquet buffet food I've ever had. We greatly enjoyed our stay. I think my only complaints are how difficult it was at times to get around the resort because of the size and feeling like we constantly had to hike from one end to the other to get places. There very well could be short cuts but no one really gave us tips when we checked in or anything so we weren't sure. The other would be the inconsistent drink prices around the resort. It seemed that some things were super expensive at the bars in the banquet area (like $22 for a double Bailey's over ice) and those same things were less than half as much at the casino bar. I know casino drink prices are often a little cheaper to encourage gambling but being almost 3 times as much seemed crazy. Otherwise we really did have a great stay and we would love to visit again!

Yelp
One of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed at. When I spoke with a few people prior to my arrival, the only selling factor that was provided was that they "have a casino". French Lick Resort is so much more than a hotel that "has a casino". The resort possesses a great historical charm that you can't find anymore. Staff is extremely friendly and proud of the resort and its history. In addition, it' clean, enjoyable and PLENTY of activities to do. Living in NYC where there are things to do immediately walking out of your doorstep, I can honestly say there are as much, or as little, depending upon your preference of activities. French Lick is a perfect getaway for a weekend with the family, solo trip or group stay. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Tonight took my wife out for Valentines Day dinner. I found a unique event at the French Lick Hotel. This is part of the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana. If you don't know about French Lick it is the hometown of NBA Hall of Famer Larry Bird. It is frowning into a little tourist town due to the resort. Tonight the event was Taste of French Lick. It was a variety from the different restaurants at the resort. Did you know tomato juice was first served at the hotel? It was. Tonight started with a shot glass of tomato juice. The first course was lobster bisque which was fabulous. Little chunks of lobster was found throughout and the bisque itself was creamy and tasteful. Next was the salad. It was strawberries and burrata. I'm not a strawberry person but tonight, with this dish, it was a great combination. The sweetness of the berries really topped off the cheese. Next was the main dish of braised beef short ribs and sea bass. The rib meat were so soft it simply pulled off or you could use your fork to pull it apart. The bass was cooked to perfection and was very flaky. Bother were seasoned very nicely. Dessert was a chocolate and raspberry cake. I had so much food I didn't eat it all but it too was magnificent. There was a lady playing a harp to make the ambiance on the night a bit more romantic than normal. However, you will always find live background music playing. The night cost $75 per person but I'd do it again as it was a once a year splurge. Parking is plentiful due to the parking garage that connects to the hotel and the casino. If your into the late night stuff you can play the slots or tables until the weee hours of the morning.

Yelp
We're only 2.5 hours away from French Lick so we were able to have two full days enjoying French Lick and West Baden. We arrived at French Lick Springs Hotel around 11 and were able to check-in early. Obviously, the first order of business was for the girls to jump on the beds in our beautiful room. The hotel was established in 1845 giving the rooms so much charm. I loved the oversized doors in the spacious rooms. There were several options for dining but or favorite was the room service. You can also order food and drinks poolside! There is an outdoor pool and hot tub as well as an indoor pool with heated floors (which was so lovely in the winter!) Every single staff member we came into contact was super helpful and hospitable. The bellman and trolley driver were especially friendly and made us feel special! If you're going during the holidays be sure to walk around the entire hotel and convention center. The decorations are amazing!
