Room not ready at check in, room had glas on the floor. Ac was leaking so bad we woke up in a pool. Owner/reception doesn't care about their guest. Chef and staff is awesome

Had a relaxing two days, Room was clean, and the breakfast was amazing. Would have been nice if your tv was updated but the wifi made up for that😊👍. Thank you for your hospitality.

Well it seems the people like Me not giving a good review is complaining about the same things I was there for 2 days . 1. Manager did not make is feel welcome at all. Night one we were in a room the shower was blocked. The spa bath was leaking. And the outside lights came into the room the light curtains did not do the job . We when to management and complained . Well after are poor attitude I payed for a better room . Rondawel cost more but ok . Got there settled in. The aircon did not work cold air only . Now people have complained about it. In my old room new people booked in . Shower still blocked. . It seems management is more intested in playing games . SOME good points looks nice there brekkie was ok.

The worst Book-in exp I’ve had in my entire life!!! I don’t know whats to come tomorrow, but if it compares to todays book in, I’d much rather stay at a Formula 1 motel. Don’t get me wrong, the room seems great, but the service I got, at the price paid… PUTRID!!! Rather book somewhere else.

We initially booked a 1 night stay but changed to 2 nights and it was the best decision. Fortune welcomed us at the gate and was very helpful and polite in showing us around. Bea was an awesome manager, along with Fortune they make a great team. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed and the place and staff created a very homely feel. The atmosphere and vibe around the lodge is truly amazing. Next time we in George we will definitely stay at the lodge again. Hats off to the team at French Lodge International

We stayed here twice before and after flying up to Johannesburg for a bush trip. Bea, the Manager, couldn’t have been more helpful. She was knowledgeable and bent over backwards to make our stay memorable. We were even able to leave our car there. ||We stayed at French Lodge during a storm, so no photos. The rooms were fun, and the pool beautiful. Lovely hot water for showers. I even used the jacuzzi, as there was so much rain.||Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Bea even arranged an early breakfast before our flight.

If you are traveling to George and need super central accommodation, look no further. We were greeted by Fortune, a kind staff member who helped us take our bags to the room. George isn't very big so staying on York street is as convenient as it gets. Breakfast was mediocre, but included, so it kept us filled up for our daytime activities. The swimming pool is the centrepiece of the lodge, so if it's fully booked just be prepared to hear everything going on outside. This is a pro or a con depending on who you are. I quite liked hearing the kids play and laugh around the pool. The jacuzzi adds a splash of romance to the rooms, especially if you are traveling with a romantic partner/s. We initially booked here because we liked the photos of the rondawels, but unfortunately we were placed in the Toulouse cottage which is not a rondawel. Other than the names of the cottages that represent different cities/towns in France, I'm not too sure what makes this lodge french. Would consider returning here if I'm ever in George again.
