Another “cave à manger” and this one is by chef Gregory Marchand, aka the perfect spot if you couldn’t get a reservation at Frenchie.

Google
As a solo diner, I was completely blown away by this restaurant!! The bartender was lovely and she was so helpful, and every food item she recommended was spot-on and perfectly prepared. I would recommend either going ~20 minutes early to wait in line or coming around 50 minutes after opening in order to put your name on the list. Truly an exceptional place and absolutely worth every moment and bite!

Google
I sat at the bar and received fantastic service and expert wine recommendations from the bartender. The oysters were among the best I’ve ever had—fresh and briny. The fried pork cheeks were rich and crispy, and the Agnolotti pasta was perfectly prepared. An excellent selection of wines and a cozy, quintessential Paris bistro atmosphere made this a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Google
Genuinely of the BEST meals I’ve had in Paris (and I’ve visited several times). The food is out of this world. Creative, extremely flavorful and decadent dishes that leave you wanting more. Will definitely come back!!

Google
Such a cute spot! Great wine, chill atmosphere, and the staff really knew their stuff without being snobby about it. Perfect place to hang out and unwind—definitely recommend if you’re into good wine and good vibes. PS if you can’t get a reservation, you can try walk in and sit at the bar

This is my new FAVORITE restaurant in paris. The food was delicious, immaculate flavor combinations and textures. My favorite plate was the Ragú mole pasta. The guy who was our server had an incredible sense of hospitality and service. He helped us choose our wine and we had the most léger pinot noir ever!!! I wasn’t expecting to eat that well but ended up unzipping my pants as well as everyone else at my party. 100% recommend.

Google
I truly enjoyed my wine, atmosphere and all the dish for the dinner! However, i still don’t fully understand how the waiting list and line are working. Hope a better description or information could come on the website or just on the main front door. The service is quite fast and efficient but just a bit more effort in explaining at least for wine menu will make it more special. The wine list and price are quite reasonable.

Google
5 Stars – Absolutely Amazing! Frenchie Bar à Vins blew us away. Every single dish was perfect — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and just unforgettable. The vibe is lively, the service is great, and the food is out of this world. A must-visit in Paris!

Google
A nice dinner experience at this Italian restaurant. The chefs cook well made food with intensive flavors and a lasting taste in your mouth. To my liking, the food is a bit too intensive, with a slightly bitter taste, like the Jewish artichoke, making it hard to eat. Even after me insisting to pay for it, the restaurant did not charge me for the starter. Over all, well done. But because of the flavor profile, maybe I will not come back.

Yelp
First meal in Paris. The place came highly recommended for good reason. The staff were so friendly and helpful in providing food recommendations and wine pairings. It is a small bar including shared tables - but it just adds to the atmosphere! This place does not take reservations- arrive early or be prepared to wait. All food was made to order and so delicious! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. I was very tempted to go a second time during our short trip!

Yelp
It's about time to provide my review on this amazing wine bar. :) I've been coming here a few times, and they never disappoint me! Their food is always tasty, innovative, and focused on seasonal ingredients. The service is friendly, all servers speak English, and they don't treat you as tourists! Just like their menu says - "Everything...I want to eat everything..." As most of you may know, lots of restaurants in Paris close on Sundays and/or Mondays, but they are open everyday from 6:30pm. Since they don't accept reservations and being a small venue, you just need to be here a bit early - say 6:10-15pm if you would like to be seated right away.

Yelp
Even though we had to wait about 30-45 minutes, Frenchie was absolutely worth it--especially with a few glasses of wine to pass the time! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly, making the wait much more enjoyable. We tried the flatbread, stuffed squid, Thai eggplant salad, and mussels tagliolini, and everything was outstanding. Each dish was so flavorful, and I would highly recommend all of them. The banoffee dessert was the perfect ending to the meal--light, with a subtle banana flavor and velvety cream that was simply delicious. Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable dining experience!

Yelp
The ambiance and host are a 10/10! I love the cozy and fun environment that it provides. The food is absolutely delicious and I would love to go again. It seems like the menu changes as well which is great. Some of the sauces and flavors overlapped a bit too much in a few of the dishes but overall, everything was still good (especially stuffed squid and the pasta). I would highly recommend this place. It was worth the 40 minute wait! And we were able to just stand outside with a glass of wine while waiting.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow! Sister restaurant to the Michelin place next door: Frenchie. Colombian chef. Excellent! Oysters- unique dressing with Mezcal and strawberries Ricotta- this dish was so memorable and so delicious Parpadelle- very creative and flavorful Get there by 7. One of my favorite meals in Paris!

Yelp
This place is small and extremely busy but after eating here I could see why.,:wow by far one of the best places to eat in Paris. We ordered a series of small plates to share: Bacon scone: wow you could taste the maple and the contrast of the salty bacon along with how soft...10/10 you must order. It is small and only comes with 3 and it was so good I wanted to order it multiple times Tacos de Cochon: for Americans this is basically pulled pork tacos and they were FANTASTIC. My only complaint is they only come with 2 tacos but they had so much flavor....i would definitely order again Pasta Fagottini: I know I said the food was great but this was FANTASTIC. The best item on the menu 20/10 must order Flan Vanille: This dessert was better than the Frenchie Banoffee the kiwi ice cream at the top was refreshing and the crust was light and flaky If you are ever in Paris you must come here!

Yelp
This spot delivered on all my expectations about Frenchie (the restaurant). We were just looking to grab a quick drink. It turned into a bottle and a few other tastes (bites and glasses), largely because of how affordable it was and how knowledgeable the staff was. I very much appreciated that the staff spoke English. They weren't snobby about whether or not we spoke any French but they were very kind and courteous. The spot is a bit small so you'll likely have a wait (worth it) and share a table with others (we were seated on one end of a table, and another group took the other two seats). It was cozy but I think everyone was there for good food and wine.

Yelp
Came after dinner at their restaurant Frenchie (across the street) and grabbed two stools at the bar. Vibes were immaculate and the servers know everything about wine (duh). Go here.

Yelp
Hands down one of our favorite meals that we enjoyed in Paris. We came around 30 minutes after opening and there was already a line to dine. They offered us chairs and a wine menu while we waited outside. We did have to wait a while, but we didn't mind. Cannot make reservations here. The interior was cozy, intimate and served the best mood for a romantic date night. They have hooks on the walls for purses, coats, and shopping bags due to the tight seating and the hooks are close enough that you can keep an eye on your belongings. We sat at a table that seated 4, but still felt like it was an intimate experience despite the couple sitting next to us. We shared several plates and each one was as delicious as the next. There is a rotating menu and chefs, so you'll always be surprised with the menu items when you dine here. The waitresses do speak English! Highly recommend bookmarking this place for your visit to Paris!

Yelp
This is restaurant not to miss in Paris. Need to come when it opens. First come, first serve. Great food and wine are amazing. Service and atmosphere are superb.

Yelp
Frenchie (the bar) did not disappoint! We arrived twenty minutes early on a weekday night, and yet we were still about tenth in line to get in when it opened. We were seated immediately at a table. The inside is tiny, and many of the tables are shared, so expect things to be loud, cramped, and for you to be sitting next to strangers. But that's all part of the charm! There's a ton of fun and lively energy while you drink and eat. The wine list was (as to be expected) completely on-point. There were some thoughtful and careful choices, and we liked every wine we picked. The limited tapas menu turned out to be an amazing pairing to the wine, with a mix of light and fresh foods (oysters) with heaver comfort foods (bacon biscuits). We went after eating and drinking at another brasserie, so we weren't that hungry, but there's enough food on the menu to make a meal of it if you came looking for dinner. Service was actually rather fast and attentive for Paris, so they'll keep the wine and food coming quickly. Overall, I would 100% go back to Frenchie next time I'm in the city. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Such an incredible dining experience. The food was rich, flavorful and artfully prepared. The service was friendly and professional. The place was busy, crowded and noisy, but full of happy, satisfied customers. Our food was explained but the staff were not precious about it. So thankful we found this place and would return for the bao, the bacon scones and the tiramichoux. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Get here when they open at 6:30 pm for a prime table! It's so hard to get a res at Frenchie (you have to book months in advance), but Bar a Vins is a wonderful substitute. The staff is excellent- so friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant has a very comfortable and homey yet chic vibe; you can tell it's a family establishment. The food is divine!!! Best meal we enjoyed in Paris!

Yelp
tourist trap in a really bad way. very shady staff. You don't tip in france ( a couple euros if exceptional service). Servers make a livable wage, have paid health care etc. This was the only place in paris we visited that had an American card reader that asked for tip ( as it does in US). This wasn't the worst of it. The waiter casually stated we could leave a tip on the reader. Waiters do not ask for tips in France. It isn't culturally acceptable. The waitress also charged us for two glasses of the most expensive wine and we had to return the next day to ask for it to be refunded. She then counted the smallest change out to refund us, it felt like an intentional insult. We were polite the entire time, never accusatory or angry. It was a disappointment and this place is taking ad of American tipping culture and the staff is very condescending and rude. I would suggest avoiding this place. The wine bar around the corner is truly french and we had a very positive experience there. Avoid Frenchie particularly if you're American.

Yelp
This is a review of the bar/ French "small plates" place ( tapas?). There is a full service restaurant associated with this concept in addition to a separate take-out place. This place is rather small, congested, hot, and the outside seating in a dank , smelly alley lined with garbage bins when we were there. Across the street, the restaurant proper is spacious , quiet, and not-crowded....but reservations are definitely required. We walked into the bar-a-vins and were promptly seated at a shared table almost rubbing elbows with another couple. So, for those suffering from claustrophobia, Covid-19, or monkey-pox fears, this is not your place. It can also get very loud. The food concepts are clever, well executed, and with great service. By great, I don't mean fast service by American standards. The staff is young, polished, but casual and elegant. The crowd is younger, hipper, well-dressed, and classy. We had a few dishes inclusive of their version of deviled eggs (oeuf mayonnaise) , a country terrine topped with picked mustard seed ( which was served a tad too cold), and a pappardelle pasta. The eggs and terrine portions were generous given it's a "small-plates" place. However, the pappardelle pasta was essentially three, short ribbons of pasta, but topped with shredded lamb. The dish was very delicious but very skimpy for the price. We filled up by sopping up the sauce with the bread provided. This is not a place to expect a full dinner. The food is delicious, creative, but it's too hot, too loud, and too crowded to linger for too long. It also does help to speak some French, but there are menus in English . Overall, it's nice place, the food is delicious, and we will definitely visit again.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to eat in Paris. It is cozy and inviting. The wine is good and free flowing. They speak English, kind of a plus for beginners. And the food is a changing menu of tapas-style items. Sometimes you want to just order EVERYTHING so you don't miss anything. Everytime we go back, I am fearful that the magic will be lost and something will be off. Not true. Outstanding yet simple everytime. Some swear by the restaurant but the wine bar has a great vibe and good food.

Yelp
After reading reviews we tried to visit this establishment very excited. We ordered a 20 minute Uber ride. we were told it would be an hour to an hour and a half wait. After two glasses of wine and two hours we started to wonder why we were not seated yet. We saw a table of two get up so we asked if we could Be seated there. After waiting for 15 minutes and no service we got up and left. Very disappointing after waiting for two hours and purchasing 4 glasses of wine..oh well many more places to try that are respectful and deserving in Paris. Just beware

Yelp
Our first meal in Paris and standards set high. This is a small tightly packed gastronomic delight. Staff were great and the food and wine better. The rice pudding is a days calorie intake but well worth it. A very Parisian experience which is what you want to seek out. My cheeks were so tender and those mashed potatoes were 95% butter. Tres bon.

Yelp
Yes, it's crowded & yes, you should come early... but honestly the wait was not terrible when we visited. We arrived around 8pm, snagged a spot at the bar and had a glass of wine while we waited for our actual table. It was worth every minute of waiting. The Tagliolini alone is worth the wait! Fantastic selection of wines, and all of our servers were ridiculously friendly. We chose to go here instead of Frenchie across the street, as I'm not as big of a meat eater as my husband (fixed-menus can be hit or miss for me!), and he was still thrilled with all of the options at this location. Highly recommended!

Yelp
My stepmom found this place after researching some highly reviewed restaurants in Paris. We visited in December of 2016 and boy was this place lovely. Word to the wise, it can get very crowded and busy fast. Recommend making a reservation if possible. The first night we went it was right before the world premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Our schedule was tight for dinner and the tables were all taken. The hostess, Megan, was able to secure us a table to that we could eat and then run to the movie at Le Grand Rex. All in all, delightful evening with delicious wine and some of most amazing pasta I have ever had. We came back a second night because the food was so amazing and even got the most magnificent dessert. Megan was kind enough to run across the street to procure the dessert from the Frenchie Restaurant that evening as we were not as keen on the selections at Bar a Vins. The ambiance and seating were even better than the night before.

Yelp
For a caribbean, new yorker this was definitely different. First off, if you're planning to come with a few friends come as soon as they open, it gets packed. Our wait time was half an hour. It was also extremely crowded but worth it. The food was pretty pricey and not enough big portions but the flavors were so delightful that I couldnt get enough. The asparagus was my favorite with an egg sauce and kimchi flavored aloi, I believe. It was pretty amazing in texture and tasted very great. The pastries filled with duck were my other favorite because the crust was flaky enough and the duck well seasoned. The sweetbreads chicken wasnt as great as I imaged it would taste. The sweet bread was great, the chicken was a little too plain for my tastebuds. In terms of presentation and a feeling of french cuisine this is definitely the place to try. I definitely give it a 4 star for that. For ambience it was a neat small place, pretty crowded but homey enough. For price, I dont think it was worth it for the portion sizes. It think this place is great for drinks and small dishes, but not a full meal.

Yelp
All the other reviews I got here at 7pm, a little worried I would have an hour wait (they open at 630) but I was lucky. There were probably 4 open seats left. By the time I left at 8, there was a line outside. It's community seating so I was seated next to a lovely couple. My waiter spoke English and made some recommendations. I had the lamb pita, gnocchiette with peas; and scotch egg. It was all so fresh - I honestly could have had one of everything on the menu. For 2 glasses of wine & food, my meal was less than 60€ which felt like a steal. The music was amazing (90s hip hop). I could see the chefs from my seat & the chef from Frenchie (across the way) popped in & out. I probably could have hung out all night but I felt bad for the line. Definitely glad I went & really appreciated that I never felt awkward dining alone.

Yelp
Weren't able to make reservations at the restaurant. Luckily, we were able to get in when it opened. Wonderful natural orange wine and small plates! We had 3 bottles! RUN, don't walk. Bon appetit :)

Yelp
Great small bites. I recommend most of the appetizers. All of the ones we tried were delicious. The environment was cozy and classy. Good place to hang out with friends.

Yelp
A well deserved 5-stars. This place is definitely in my top three must eats in Paris. Frenchie Wine Bar is across from Frenchie the Restaurant. It's located in The Marais and was a very smaller hyperlocal spot. It's very small so would be great with 1 or 2 people max. The food was INCREDIBLE. I kept saying with each bite, this is the best food we've had thus far (and we ate a lot). The plates are small and beautifully assembled. The menu is small and we ordered just about everything. I'm assuming the menu is seasonal. The asparagus with egg was out of this world. It was in a green Dijon something MAGIC sauce and as soon as you cracked that egg, oh baby. The basil seasonal on top with crispy which I had never had. The combination of flavors was just mind blowing. Perfect dish for dipping their rustic wheat french bread. The gnocchi was fabulous, sitting in a green pesto and artichoke purée. Grilled pieces of artichoke hearts and green onion made the perfect pairing. The veal was insane as well as the parpadelle pasta dish. The wine was amazing. Limited bottles each night with a new selection from curated organic French vineyards. Like I said this place is tiny so plan on a longer meal with limited service. All worth the wait.

Yelp
This is probably one of the BEST restaurants in all of Paris. The food is OUTSTANDING! Seriously so delicious. The wine is also great and most importantly the staff is so kind and warm. Yes you will have to wait for a table but I.T is very worth I.T. While you wait you can drink by the bar. I would not recommend coming here with a big group of people. But I.T is perfect for a date! The ambiance is intimate and romantic. I also really enjoyed the music they were playing. I.T was American but super cool and chill. I can't wait to come back here and eat when I am in Paris again! The avocado cheese dish was DELICIOUS! The combination of different flavors came together and created an amazing dish. The truffle pasta was unreal. Like literally AMAZING. One of the best I have ever had. I.T was also cooked perfectly. The lamb was also delicious. I.T was cooked to perfection and a HUGE portion. You can definitely split I.T between three people. I also loved the gnocchi. I.T was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. All the different things at this restaurant had unique flavors and were really very very good. The wine we got was from Spain and was really delicious as well! I highly recommend I.T!

Yelp
This has to be one of my favorite meals EVER - do not miss this when in Paris! Yes, you should come early and expect to wait about 30 minutes prior to opening. Yes, it will be crowded and you will most likely have to share a small table. Don't bring your life's belongings or your heavy coat here unless you're fine placing everything on the floor. But yes - all of this is more than worth it. The menu is seasonal but I honestly don't believe that you can go wrong with anything here. We especially loved the pastas that we ordered, as well as the grilled octopus. My friends and I agreed that it was the best we've had. The desserts were also incredible - we were so full at the end but forced ourselves to try a couple and were thrilled we did. On top of the amazing food was the exceptional service we received. I was expecting to be mostly ignored considering how busy the place was, and since European service can be a bit more... relaxed ;) But our server was so lovely and made the experience unforgettable. He was super patient with wine recommendations and even took the time to give us the background on each bottle he selected for us. We really appreciated this extra effort and loved each of his picks - they really know their stuff! Printed on their menu is: "Everything - I want to eat everything" ...so true. I wouldn't hesitate to go back during my next trip to Paris.

Yelp
Had a delightful experience when I came here with a friend last week. Definitely come early to grab a seat--or else, you'll be waiting for a bit. Ladies: Leave your big bags/purses at home. Small crossbodies will be your best friend here. Just absolutely loved all the dishes we ordered. - Ragu Parpadelle: Al dente and not overcooked, and the meat of the ragu was tender and seasoned so perfectly. Loved the fact that this pasta was not too soup-y. - Summer veggie curry dishes: Beautifully laden in all sorts of colorful vegetables and edible flowers. I am typically not fond of curry, but the sweet and savory sauce, reminiscent of Thai coconut curry without it being too overwhelming, paired so well with the cooked vegetables. - Meat dish (was either duck or beef): The slightly picked white/yellow beans and the perfectly cooked meat were an unimaginable complement.

Yelp
RUN, do not walk! This was by far our best meal in Paris! I cannot even begin to describe how amazing our dinner was at Frenchie! For starters, you know it is a good sign when there is a line outside the door waiting for them to open at night. Once inside, you are greeted by very friendly servers. The restaurant itself has a very quaint yet posh vibe. The wine they suggested was absolutely superb but the food was by far the highlight. My god the food. It was out of this world. We had one of the cheese dishes to start and then the black truffle pasta that was absolutely divine! I am already dreaming of the day that I go back!

Yelp
Right across from Frenchie (I didn't know if I wanted to reserve there), I chose to go to Bar a Vins. I had the Roasted Cauliflower and it was very good! Topped with roasted nuts and grains, that gave this beautiful crunch. The sauce was amazing and tangy. I also had the Pappardelle in a lamb ragout. All chef made. Loved the natural acidity in the ragout! I'm going to have to try Frenchie across the way. VERIFY your bill though before paying as a couple of glasses of wine were added to the bill. They are very busy.

Yelp
Gets full and loud .. go early ,, or make reservations across the street at Frenchie ! Dont miss this place !

Yelp
When I think about French food, I think about foods full of flavor, lots of butter and small portions. Frenchie's was exactly that! Im happy we went to this place after Balzar, because I feel as though justice was served, literally. We shared about 5-8 small plates, which were all amazing!!!! The tortellini was sooooo good. I didn't want to share! The burrata was also delicious and the My brother in law had read about this place and I must admit that it lived up to the hype. Good looks little bro!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite spot in Paris. Our family goes to exhaustive efforts to find great places all over the world. The food is absolutely incredible on every visit! Trick is to get in line a half hour before opening to guarantee a spot. Fun place to go with a group of friends or family as you can work your way through the entire menu! Excellent wine list and super nice staff! Never have I seen a kitchen crew put out more beautiful food in such a small place!
google avatar

Sandra Y.

Yelp
Sadly, frenchie was all booked up for the night so we went across the street to frenchie bar a vins. We got there about 10-15 minutes before opening and there were still about 10 people ahead of us waiting in line. The place is pretty small. We had a red wine by the glass that was fairly cheap (6-7€) and it was still good. For dinner, we ordered the steak tartare (22€), burrata (14€) and pappardelle with oxtail ragout (16€). Everything was great and well seasoned. It was the perfect amount of food for two people to share. If we really wanted to, we could've done some dessert but we decided to skip it. Would definitely return and was glad we didn't have to wait! They take advantage of every seat so if you're a smaller party seated at a larger table, you might be sitting with strangers. We didn't mind. Service left a bit to be desired but it wasn't bad. Just adequate and somewhat polite. Not good though. Food was great.
google avatar

Alison L.

Yelp
Excellent (and affordable!) small plates. Show up 20 minutes before opening (18:40) and you'll be seated right away. I really appreciated that they never made us feel rushed despite the line of people waiting. Everything is delicious and the foie gras is a must-try but it's a huge and heavy portion so prepare yourself.
google avatar

Meital S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Tried almost everything on the menu and have to say it's heaven for tapas well-made food, wine is great as well and the atmosphere is exactly what Paris is. To conclusion Sexy food, sexy staff and best atmosphere in town

Yelp
Frenchie Bar à Vins did not disappoint!! I am crazy about Frenchie-to-Go and still upset by the horrible treatment that I received at Frenchie, but it was a hot summer night in Paris and something light and delicious was what I needed for dinner. There are no reservations here. The restaurant is not large and the tables may be communal but the food is fabulous. The foie gras was amazing!! Melt-in-your-mouth luxury and decadence. The food is fresh and seasonal and the wine was devine.

Yelp
Great food and wine. Friendly service. Four dishes and for glasses of wine was about $150.

Yelp
Of all the meals we had in the two weeks we were in France sadly this was our least favorite. The food itself was soooo good, but everything else about the experience was soooo bad the food could not compete. We got there early in the evening and the place was almost completely empty and yet they insisted on squeezing us in at a table for 4 with a party of 2 that was already sitting there. So now there were 5 of us crammed into a table for 4 and half of us didn't know each other. We ended up having to get up and walk away from our table twice to let the old party leave and the new party sit as they insisted on cramming people into that table despite other tables being open. This was the only restaurant during my entire visit that made us feel rushed. They kept coming and trying to take our half eaten plates away. They cleared all our utensils and plates before we were done with our ordered items. Despite the food being so good we ended up leaving and having dessert somewhere else because we found the experience so unpleasant. Before leaving I stopped at the restroom and was told by the American woman sitting at the bar that she thought they were having "an issue" in the bathroom and that several people had walked up and opened the door and then walked away looking displeased. When I looked in the bathroom I could see that the toilet had overflowed and someone had just thrown a bunch of toilet paper on the ground to try to deal with it. I told our rather unpleasant waitress and all she said was "oh." I think the hype about this place might be making them think that we are willing to be treated poorly for good food; however, I would much rather have great food in one of the many beautiful bistros in Paris and be treated in a more hospitable manner than return to this establishment.

Yelp
Our trip to Paris was rather spontaneous so we failed to plan ahead and make reservations at all of the restaurants that we wanted to try. This included Frenchie. My friends who used to live in Paris, however, told us to go to the Frenchie Wine Bar if we didn't have reservations at Frenchie and to get there at least half a hour before opening. We ended up getting there a hour before opening and were the first ones in line. Although we didn't know what to expect, this turned out to be my best dining experience ever. First of all, the service was top notch. The waiter was polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine menu. He didn't recommend the most expensive wine on the menu and instead got us exactly what we were looking for. Second, the food was just amazing. We enjoyed everything we ordered - the porcini mushrooms, lamb pappardelle and the tortelli. We were really full after having all those dishes and thought about skipping dessert, but we decided to try something anyway since the appetizers and entrees were so delicious. We ended up ordering the honey ice cream with honeycomb and we were so glad that we didn't skip dessert. Third, the dining experience turned out to be memorable because of the people who sat with us. All of the tables at Frenchie Wine Bar are communal and it turned out that the people who sat next to us were talented chefs themselves. One was a chef at Frenchie To Go and the other was a chef at Michelin three star restaurant, l'Astrance. In fact, they were the ones who recommended that we get the tortelli as our third dish and we were so glad that we had consulted their expertise and ordered it. Chef Gregory Marchand is not only a world class chef, but also very friendly. Because he knew the two chefs who sat at our table, he served our table for the first half of our meal before he went to check on his restaurant across the street. He was nice enough to let me take a picture with him before he left. Another added bonus was that we sat right by the kitchen so we got to see Chef Marchand cook right in front of us. I think that anyone without a reservation at Frenchie Restaurant should check out Frenchie Wine Bar. Don't go there thinking of it as simply an alternative to the restaurant because Chef Marchand and his staff will still do their best to make sure that you have a memorable dining experience.

Yelp
Really nice atmosphere but a little cramped. The food was pricy and were small portions but that is expected for a tapas style restaurant. The severs were nice and spoke English. We got the asparagus, sausage bread, and Mille-feuille to split between the two of us. It wasn't much food but we had a larger late lunch so it was enough to satisfy. We also split a bottle of rose. The total came to about 90 is dollars.

Yelp
What a great spot though it you don't speak French, it could be uncomfortable. I went with a group of four at 7:30p on a Monday night and it was packed! I think they just opened because a rush of people cam in right after we did. The space has two rooms, one with high-top tables and the other with a few high-tops and a bar with standing room. For Paris standards, the space was big. But if you're going here to eat, I'd go early and try to sit in the room without the bar. Our table was in the bar area and there were people standing up next to our table so it was pretty crowded. They have a large variety of wine at all price points. Their food is really good - small plates with big portion sizes. My group of 4 ordered a bunch to share. We ordered a cheese plate that came with four types of cheese, honey, bread, and dried fruit. We also ordered the mussels which came in a creamy and delicious sauce. The muscles were large enough to be a single entree. We had a paddock dish that could have been one smaller entree for one. We also had a burrata and brussels sprout dish that was SO good! Everything was delicious! My group had all that food and two bottles of wine and our will was $124. The wine bottles were ~$25 each and each food dish was between $12 - $18. The server was by no means friendly. My friend tried ordering for us in mediocre French then asked if the server spoke English and got a huge eye roll and exaggerated sigh. He delivered our dishes and brought us bread basket refills but exuded a put-off attitude all night and made us a little uncomfortable to be there. Their restaurant across the street looked amazing and reasonably priced and I would suggest trying this place and that one!

Yelp
My friend made reservations to Frenchie, online, about a month before our visit. When we arrived, the host said he tried calling five times and even emailed to confirm, but we never received anything. So they gave our reservation away in the main restaurant and said our other option was to dine at the wine bar. We ordered everything on the menu, including three cheeses and two desserts (party of four, not crazy). At first, the dishes came out at a nice pace, but the later it got, the slower plates arrived (and the warmer the room became). Our meal lasted about three and a half hours. Everything was delicious, but the servers never took a moment to explain to us what we were having. I get it, it's busy, but when we order everything, we didn't really look at the menu. I took one star off for the service but I should put another one back since I had the best view of the kitchen! I might have stared at the sous chef/expeditor the entire meal. Mesmerizing to watch him plate. Also, very handsome .

Yelp
Food and wine were excellent. My wife and I shared five different small plates. Roasted Cauliflower was outstanding as was the tortellini. We had a great seat; able to view the kitchen and watch the various dishes being made. Just a tip. Be there when it opens and be guaranteed a seat, because there are no reservations. Cozy ambience and vibe. The only criticism, is that the pacing was a little quick. It might be best to order your small plates two at a time.

Yelp
Not sure what the hype is! Other than the cozy atmosphere and the rhubarb tart dessert, service and food was really subpar. We ordered 3 dishes, the foie gras, white asparagus, and the burrata. The burrata was super bland and needed something to offset its creaminess but the sauce just did not work for it, foie gras was churned and made into a cake-like piece but the gooey texture just didn't work for me. The white asparagus was probably the least problematic dish being that it was refreshing with the egg on top but still it is nothing special. Our waiter forgot some of our orders and had a long face whenever we asked for something, really made the whole experience very unpleasant.

Yelp
Another well deserved five star. Gregory Marchand is an incredible chef. It is evident that he has lived many places and used the techniques and flavors from his diverse cooking career to make outstanding dishes. I had heard of his other restaurant Frenchie from my girlfriend and I had tried to make reservations there many times to no avail. It's a small place and I frequently travel to Paris last minute, so I have a hard time making advance reservations. She then she told me about Bar a Vins. I gave it a shot and instantly loved it. My recommendation is to arrive a half hour before opening and jump in the queue. It's a mid size place for Paris and if you are two, you will likely sit with another group of two. The wine choices are specifically made by the restaurant and I trusted their taste immediately. You don't have to worry too much about it because it's pretty obvious they can select better than most of us. We had several courses. Burrata... Amazing. It's a dish that can either soar or sink and Marchand nailed it here. Lamb ragu was warming and delicious, but what blew my mind was a medley of spring vegetables. See my photo. Not only beautiful in appearance, but crisp and bursting with natural flavors and butter of course...it's France. Don't get me wrong though. It's not drowning in butter to the point of coma. Plus, the butter there is monumentally better than the stuff we have state side. Desert was also creative and complicated. I would never have thought to pair the herb thyme, typically added to savory dishes, with sweet strawberries in a desert. Delicious. Marchand has turned this small street into gourmand paradise. With his restaurants, the new fresh vegetable market (which he persuaded the farmers he buys from to open), the coffee shop next door and the yet-to-come... Rue du Nil has become one of my favorite streets in the world.

Yelp
I had dinner with a friend on February 28 at Frenchie Bar a Vins. We each had gotten a great recommendation for Frenchie before leaving the states. They likely were referring to the main restaurant across the street. It was booked before we left the US, but we decided we would stop by at opening time to see if we could get in. When we got to Frenchie Restaurant, the staff told us they were completely booked, but directed us across the street as an option. I hadn't known about their bar restaurant, and was excited because many times the experience at a restaurant's sister bar is the best experience! There already were a couple of folks in line waiting for the bar to open, so we jumped on. Frenchie Bar a Vins definitely is equal to any formal fine dining experience in my view. In fact, I likely would have been disappointed had I dined at the formal restaurant and not known about the bar first. The bar is a total package of the best dining experience: great staff; great vibe; great music; great, expertly prepared food! And with all of that, not a break the bank restaurant given the big sister restaurant has one Michelin star. Frankly, the bar could have that star also, at a minimum Bib Gourmand. After my experience at Bar a Vins, I don't have to go to the main restaurant next time I am in Paris. The bar is definitely more my style of fabulous but casual dining, where I can sit back and enjoy without the stuffiness that sometimes invades fine dining. I'm looking forward to returning some day!

Yelp
This place is a gem! Every dish we ordered was perfect. The foie gras was incredible. Our serves was very friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The place has a nice communal feel, you sit closely to other people but it doesn't feel crowded. Just creates an atmosphere of a bunch of people enjoyed delicious food and wine. I would go back there again and again if I wasn't in Paris only for a few days.

Yelp
Sooo good. This is very close to our hotel and the reviews were good so we checked it out. Ordered a few things to share. Everything was delicious. The burrata, apricot, pesto, oat dish was AMAZING. Menu was translated into English . It's a busy place, we waited about 30 minutes for a table on a Monday night at 7:45pm.
