The perfect dinner date spot by the harbor! My partner and I came here for his birthday dinner and it exceeded our expectations. We sat outside where we could look down to the water. Service was great (we were the last ones there and they never made us feel rushed). But the real highlight was the food and drinks! Steak and pasta cooked to perfection. Mouthwatering combos so delicious we made sure not to forget the leftovers in our hotel fridge!

Great little place close to the water. They were able to accommodate us on Saturday night without a reservation. We started off with the fried Calamari which was excellent. We ordered the Eggplant Tajine and Lamb Ragu, both were excellent. The Lamb Ragu was exceptional. 👌

Favorite Thursday night outing during the winter months for their pasta special. Pasta, salad and wine for 2, but we always tack on the bread service. Sausage penne is divine and the lettuce used in the salad has that great farmer’s market vibe with the big, crispy leafs. Wine has always been tasty and it is a nice value for two people. Other nights we enjoy the fish and chips immensely - just be prepared for an enormous offering! Seriously, the fish is the size of a tug boat! No complaints other than a very, very full belly!

We walked in slightly after 830 on a Friday night and sat at the bar. The restaurant was busy but not slammed. Fresh & Co is well run, cozy and a cool little place tucked away off the main street near the water in Camden. Our bartender Ashley was slinging drinks for the entire place but found time to be friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We each had an entree, the Chicken Katsu was good but the Rigatoni in Vodka sauce was outstanding! Both entrees were plenty large enough to share. Kitchen service was quick. The kitchen stops taking orders at 9pm so be sure and get there in time. They do take reservations as well. We throughly enjoyed our visit and will be returning. Urban Cowgill August 2023

This is a very nice restaurant. The food is adventurous and delicious. Everything from the greens to the lobster ravioli to the apple crisp was phenomenal. The lobster ravioli had an Asian flavor profile and there was a whole claw and half a tail on top of the ravioli!

Google
The best food and service in Maine. We spent a week in Maine for our 30th anniversary. We started in Portland and spent our last three days in Camden. This was hands down the best food we ate in Maine. Lisa was our server and she was phenomenal. We even went to Rockland and tried “the place” and it didn’t compare to the casual atmosphere of Fresh & Co and the quality of food with GF options was amazing. As we say in Texas….great job y’all.

I love this place. Had my birthday dinner here and the food didn’t disappoint! The curry seafood bowl was outstanding. They have the freshest shrimp, mussels. The fish was perfectly cooked, melts in my mouth! Definitely a must try while in Camden.

Google
Excellent selection of food options as advertised. I went all out and had the Hanger Steak. Med Rare to perfection The demi was authentic and on point. Garlic mashed, and broccolini were easy magicians to match. Homeade Truffle Fries we're addictive. We were in town for just a minute and luckily found the best spot in Camden. Comfy, cozy vibe. Pay the $4 for the bread. Was definitely worth it. Everything we picked on the menu was worth it. Full bow to this establishment for creating excellence while being surrounded by intimidating normalcy. 👏

Yelp
Hello then. It's been awhile. Have chosen to travel without comment for some time. Tonight I must speak up for a wonderful woman who is standing against NorEasters and the vagaries of Bidenonmics in the quaint hamlet of Camden, ME. Spectacular front of house attention. Better than I (or you) deserve shoulder season attention and cuisine. Snappy service at the table. A proprietor who is actually able to be everywhere at once. And my blessing! Visit if you are nearby. -NC

Yelp
In fairness to Fresh & Co., our dining experience at a competing establishment the night before was outstanding! It was a 5-star dining experience all the way. It would be a tough act to follow no matter where we went to eat. With that in mind, I feel I'm being very fair with a 4-star rating. It was good, but it could have been better. In fact, I would be giving them a 3.8 or 3.7 if that were an option. A 5-star rating may be within their reach, but they're not there yet in my book. The location is excellent. Downtown Camden, steps from the waterfront. Check. We made 5 o'clock reservations, as the website suggested we do if we were hoping for outdoor, upper deck seating--to take in the view. That option is weather-dependent, of course--and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, rain was in the forecast that night. For making those reservation instructions clear and easy to understand: Check. So, we chose two seats at the bar. The bar was relatively small--there was room for ten or maybe twelve patrons--but the chairs were not crammed close together, making everyone feel cramped and crowded. Check. The bartender was clearly very experienced and friendly and she made a great Vodka Martini (very dry with a twist). Check. We started with the clam dip appetizer. It was good but could have been better. It was nothing like the clam dip that used to be very common in New England when I was growing up. I don't fault them for that, but I do fault them for having very little clam in the clam dip. Boo. Then, we both ordered the Duck. I know, boring, right? While we both like Duck, and the description of the accompanying root vegetable medley was intriguing, we couldn't help but wonder why nothing else on the menu was appealing. We *never* order the same thing (so we can try one another's dish). And, why was the seafood selection so limited -- just one item if memory serves They're in Camden, Maine--steps from the harbor. Boo. She loved everything about the dish, but I only enjoyed the Duck--I didn't care for the root vegetables. We were both too full to finish our entrees, so we left with ample leftovers. We'll go with a 'Check.' The 'Checks' outpace the 'Boos' 5 to 2. That's a 4-star rating in my book. Note: As the name implies, this is a farm (and boat) to table oriented place. The menu changes frequently.

Carol P.

Yelp
I enjoyed the outdoor seating, server was great. We ordered a bowl of mussels to split, very good and fish and chips to split, the fish and chips not my favorite, nice piece of fish but the batter tasted like curry. I asked the server and she said none. Just was distracting flavor what ever it was, with the fish.

Jeff D.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and had excellent service and great local conversations. The happy hour menu hit the spot with Mac and cheese and Korean wings. Dinner was delicious with a burger and mouth watering pork belly.

Cynthia C.

Yelp
Everything was excellent! Loved the moqueca and lamb ragú. Even accommodated our two young kids with chicken fingers and butter noodles. Highly recommend.

Holly K.

Yelp
This review is based on TAKE-OUT, not dine in. None of the menu items seemed to blend together, not one true theme. That's the reason we actually ordered from here, my partner and I could get 2 completely dishes since we weren't agreeing on one cuisine. I ate the mussels with white wine butter and the rigatoni with fennel sausage and pink sauce. I was not a huge fan of either. The mussels had a very weird mushy texture, I didn't finish them just to be safe. The rigatoni was basic pasta, nothing to write home about. The inside and outside (patio) of this restaurant are very cute. I would go back to grab a drink, but would probably skip the food next time!

David R.

Yelp
I have to say that I was terribly disappointed in the quality of the meal I ordered. I sat at the bar and the bartender was terrific in that she provided prompt customer service and great conversation. And I'm sure that it is company policy and no fault of hers, but the pour on my two whiskey on the rocks was about a short pour as I've ever seen. Management is cutting corners. I ordered the special which was halibut with lobster in a cream sauce. Fish was dry and overcooked, and unfortunately the cream sauce lacked any flavor to help salvage the meal. Chef was probably going for "subtle" , which would've been great on a delicate properly cooked fish. I took half of it home in hopes of finishing it for lunch, but wound up, throwing it out. I did have the muscles appetizer and they were quite good. Given the stingy drinks and the mediocre food, I will not be back.

Joan Z.

Yelp
What a great night at Fresh! Food and service was excellent! Drinks were very nicely done. My favorite was the pasta ! Rigatoni with sausage and pink sauce. Definitely worth the $ and enjoyed ii!

Molly C.

Yelp
Had the calamari and the steak. Calamari was flavorless. If you are serving calamari in a harbor town you MUST crush it! I've had better in landlocked states. The steak was good and tender but the sauce needs some work. All in all I'd skip this place, there are many other great options in town!

Yelp
Nice spot in the Camden area. We went for dinner and were met with a great atmosphere, and great service, but had some mixed reviews on the food. To start, we ordered the $6 bread (which I thought was rediculous to charge for). I would not recommend (tasteless/cheap). Then for dinner we tried a variety of dishes. The lamb shank was spectacular, the lobster ravioli was great (very unique - more like an Asian style), but the vodka rigatoni and the chicken were just OK. We then finished the meal with some tiramisu which was really good, but didn't really taste like tiramisu. The atmosphere was very nice, with an open kitchen and a relaxed environment (not too bustling), however, I had a vent blowing directly into my face for the entire meal, so that wasn't great. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. We will be back again!

Rolanda K.

Yelp
Took five people out to a wonderful dinner, great service and friendly atmosphere. Highly reccomend!

Yelp
Amazing place ! Very cozy restaurant! Excellent service and friendly Food amazing ! Crab and artichoke dip so delicious! Eggplant tajine so delicious and unique taste! Love it ... Pan roasted chicken very good with delicious mushrooms Cheesecake was so good! We love this place ! Chef really professional

Yelp
One of the worst meals we've ever had. We ordered the hanger steak with fries. The steak had absolutely no flavor and was very tough. The fries were drenched in some kind of grease and for some reason, jalapeños, and mostly inedible. When the waitress was telling us of the daily special, fettuccine with scallops. I asked how many scallops came in that dish she said 3. I said "only 3" and she just shrugged, as tho saying, "What do you expect?" Similarly when she came to take our food away and almost nothing had been eaten she said are you done and I responded that the steak was tough and had no flavor and she simply said "oh" and took our plate away. There were great lapses of time coming to take our order, to bring us water, or to come for the bill.

Yelp
A warm service acompanies the no fuss, always excellent meal. If you're looking for an entertaining Tuesday evening drop in for trivia night.

Yelp
Lucky us! We stumbled upon Fresh & Co by chance. I was not expecting this level of dining in Camden, Maine. We were looking for something besides lobster and didn't want pizza or burgers. The food here is really good! As the name of the restaurant suggests, everything is fresh and local and the menu changes accordingly. The food is creative and cooked to perfection. Every dish was delicious. Korean style wings - 6 big plump wings in a delectable sauce of gochujang, pear nectar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce , sesame oil. Presenter beautifully with pickled celery 1/4 chicken in a cranberry and apple with creamy spinach risotto, and baby carrots. Sounds simple but was simply delicious. The risotto was so creamy and rich. Moqueca was a new twist on a Brazilian dish with cod and mussels in a coconut lime cilantro broth served with jasmine rice. Mouth watering. The portions are huge! Loved seeing an Oregon King Estate Pinot Noir on the wine list. The service is excellent. Our waitress was so helpful in describing the menu items and the ingredients. The ambiance is comfortable and cozy with an open kitchen. A true family affair - Rama and Steve owned the restaurant. Steve was mentor to chefs Ryan and Kyle and they came back to help Rama run the restaurant when Steve passed. Steve's daughter is the bartender and Kyle's wife is a waitress.

Yelp
We have always loved this restaurant, but I ordered fish and chips and it was terrible. It was supposed to be a beer batter and it was bright gold, curried smelling, and thick. When I cut it open to get to the fish, it was soggy wet inside. I ate most of the haddock, but of course, none of the strange coating. The french fries were pretty soggy from the heavy fish having laid on them. we did tell our very nice waitress and she said she would speak to chef. She got back to us that cook said it was fine. Mind you there was no mention of curry on the menu. Very strange. My husband very much enjoyed his steak and the Caesar salad was great.

Yelp
Great service and great food! Nice location! For us it was also a huge benefit that it only closed at 9pm. I had the pasta with fennel sausage. Delicious :-)

Bea B.

Yelp
The green salad has very spicy seeds which made my eyes burn - the menu says nothing about the salad being HOT. The Moqueca description said lime, cilantro, coconut - BUT it had many red pepper hot chili flakes - I do not like hot spicy food - so my meal was unpleasant at best. The Moqueca had no rice. Our lamb ragu was all pasta - the bits of lamb were tasteless. Menu needs to state clearly that the seeds are HEAT spicy and the Moqueca has hot chili. I could have easily avoided these foods and enjoyed a meal. The lamb ragu needs a rethink....please do not think anyone is fooled when you fill the bowl with pasta. Would not recommend this restaurant - Camden has many other choices offering delicious choices.

Yelp
We loved this place!! It's healthy and delicious! You need to try it! We each got a bowl and then we split some avocado toast - I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it was so good!!

Allison W.

Yelp
Sooooo good! The steak frites were amazing. The atmosphere outside was perfect! We can't wait to go back.

Sara E.

Yelp
The menu is limited but mostly in a good way where it's easier to choose something quickly. Review it in advance if you have special dietary requirements. For me there's one dish that I order every time since I have a dietary restriction so I'm not always keen to return unless I crave that one thing. It's a beautiful restaurant inside and for outdoor seating. The décor inside is eclectic and interesting and outdoors there are nice strings of lights to keep it sparkly. They have a decent selection of adult beverages that all appear to be hand selected. I've been for wine tastings before and other dinner events, as a small party, and as a large group and they've always accommodated us. The dining room gets loud so if you plan to have an intimate dining experience, plan it at a non-peak time. They do accept reservations, which is helpful during the summer peak. Wait staff usually have a good understanding of the menu, which was crafted by the owner Rada and has plenty of seafood options. Give it a try. Leave the picky eaters at home.

Philip H.

Yelp
Food is excellent, fish stew is unique and tasty as are the Korean wings. Wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Erin ..

Yelp
Nice staff and atmosphere. Recommend the moqueca. The asian flair on the dish was a nice touch with the seafood. Lamb lollipops also recommend. Cod was good but other dishes were better.

DS B.

Yelp
Loved it. We ate there 2 nights in a row because of our experience. The food was excellent as was the service & location. I'd go back tomorrow if we were still in Camden.

Diane T.

Yelp
This review is based on interactions with the wonderful people at Fresh & Co. Unfortunately the group that I was with didn't take the time to understand or ask questions about the many mouth watering offerings on the menu. I was excited to try Korean wings and Moqueca, but the rest of the group vetoed and one by one left without letting the restaurant staff know. I felt really bad that they abused the reservation that we had and didn't take the time to have a conversation. It's on me too. After a long day of road rally driving I was tired, hungry, distracted, and losing patience. Distracted enough that I left my purse behind trying to keep up and not get left behind myself. The restaurant had my purse when I retraced my steps and went back to see if it was there. They were kind and gracious although perplexed by the quick departure. I know this review doesn't make up for the potential lost check from our table but I thought it was important to give credit for the warm atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, and food that looked and smelled amazing. I will be back and next time I know I will have an exquisite meal.

Paul F.

Yelp
Best eggplant I've ever had. Everything else was good. Good service. Nice ambiance. Near the harbor

Meghan B.

Yelp
Delicious dinner for adults and kids alike. Very fresh and local ingredients prepared in interesting ways. The fish stew with coconut broth, fish and chips and rigatoni are amazing!

Teresa M.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at Fresh & Co! We started with the lettuce wraps, house dip, and pickled vegetables. My husband and I both had the salmon for dinner. All were absolutely delicious. The chefs are creative and use a lot of great flavors. The servers are warm and welcoming. We will be back every visit to Camden!

Blake R.

Yelp
So first night in Camden and we are a very late lunch. So we waited until last min to find a place to eat dinner. In this town everything closes early. So make sure you are aware of that. So complaints first... Covid seating sucks.. they decrease the number of tables so the wait times are longer. Not their fault so that's neutral. Waiting for a table. Upon returning to the restaurant 20 mins after we put our names on the list we waited another 10-15 mins for them to seat us at one of the 4 available tables. We sat outdoors so it was nice. Oysters... fried to perfection and had great texture... you are reading this and are like that's not a complaint!... But... the coleslaw it rested on was extremely over sauces and was pretty bland beyond the hits of seasoning from the oyster here and there. 2 oyster for 14.00 a little over priced in my opinion... give me 4 fried oysters and sauce and I would be more than happy. Mediterranean Eggplant Moussaka... I know I know you are reading this and wondering why the heck a country boy from Arkansas is eating this... Because I love eggplant! Sadly this eggplant fell flat. Fried to perfection, but that's about the best part. The eggplant wasn't as tender as I hoped, and the breading had no seasoning therefor the flavor was flat. On the other hand the lamb ragout was excellent with lots of flavor. The sheep feta was great, but got over powered being on the bottom of the dish. Throw it on top so I get that tangy pop first thing. Ok now to the positives... Mussels and frites were cooked perfectly and the shoe string fries were light and crispy... loved the appetizer. Japanese Fried Chicken...... I am going to have a moment of silence for this dish....... Holy cow this dish was hands down winner for the night. The chicken was fried to perfection, juicy, and the breading was very flavorful. I wish could have finished the whole dish. Accompanied by some okonomiyaki pancakes... wow these had an amazing flavor to them and if you put some of the miso rhubarb mustard on it, fireworks in the mouth. Needless to say I highly recommend this dish... winner winner chicken dinner saved the 4th star!! Service at the table was great, and the food arrived quickly.

Nikki A.

Yelp
Fabulous place! For appetizers, we had the Korean style wings. As someone of asian roots, I can firmly say that the take on Korean Style chicken was well executed. It has a lot of the usual elements found in Korean cuisine, with a little twist. We also had the Moqueca and it was fantastic. A clean coconut lime broth with cod, mussels, and jasmine rice. I will say the portions are pretty big so be prepared to be in a food coma! This place changes the menu to what fresh ingredients they have. The staff is also very sweet and accommodating. Will come back next time I am in Maine.

Danilo M.

Yelp
Everything on the menu are excellent! The best dining experienced I had on my mini vacation in Maine!

Austin K.

Yelp
I got the hot buttered rum, which had a good amount of butter flavor and barely sweet, as well as the Brazilian coconut seafood stew, which tasted a lot like Thai curry without the spice. I enjoyed it, but would like to try the other options as well next time. Friends got the moussaka which was tasty, as well as the orecchiette, which was also tasty, but even more impressively, served on a hot plate that kept the temperature steaming even halfway through the meal.

Nick F.

Yelp
Food was great, especially the roasted duck. Service was excellent and our waiter took the time to explain several of the entrees. Overall great atmosphere!

Anna F.

Yelp
Fantastic service and food! The bartender (Julie I believe) was so helpful and made a smooth martini. We went for happy hour which is from 4-6 at the bar. We ended up coming back later that night and they were able to find a table for us. The pork chop and the rigatoni alla vodka were amazing.

Tanya W.

Yelp
Wow! This place is really great. First off hats off to the lovely Martina who welcomed us in 2 minutes before closing and ensures we got a full delicious meal. So appreciate her steering me toward the Moqueca, which was stunning. The freshness of the seafood and the expert preparation made it a true delight. Family loved the salmon, brussel sprouts and fish and chips too. Great desserts and incredible service. Thank you!!

Michael K.

Yelp
Excellent food. Good portions. Very interesting combinations of different ingredients. Definitely would come back.

D H.

Yelp
Excellent flavors! Very pleased with the food. Fish & Chips was the best we've ever had. We look forward to returning soon!

Liz T.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks! Mussels and the lamb lollipops are my favorite. Service is awesome!

Barbara N.

Yelp
Fresh flavors and great atmosphere. Very busy. Make reservations a few days in advance.

Dave D.

Yelp
We had a great anniversary experience here. Food was delicious. I had the Japanese Fried Chicken, which was inventive and tasty, and she had a shrimp pasta dish that she loved. Service was great and decor had a nice vibe to it.

Bill M.

Yelp
Great meal and service. The rigatoni was delicious and the portion big enough for 2. Wine was very good but pricey. We enjoyed the nice ambience.

Steve N.

Yelp
Very pleasant and personable wait staff who seemed excited to welcome you and introduce you to what they had to offer. Unique menu, not just another New England seafood repeat. Same with their cocktails and desserts. I had a spicy margarita and the Moqueca. Delicious and beautifully presented. All the flavors blended perfectly without overpowering each other. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Kate K.

Yelp
I've gone here in the past (probably 4 years ago)and absolutely loved it, however coming back to it, I found it flavorless and service was underwhelming. There was maybe four other groups at the restaurant and service was still slow. Major disappointment. The only thing good about in our meal was the appetizer. Our server was pushy with deserts (as well as the app).

Becca L.

Yelp
creative and delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere. The lobster ravioli was a unique delight.

Tracy A.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Camden for a long time for more than just a "passing through" look to the left and right of Rte. 1, so I really don't know much about the restaurants in this beautiful midcoast gem of a city. When my Ellsworth friend and I wanted a "meet in the middle" dinner out, I did a google search of "restaurants in Camden" and gave her a few choices of those that had good reviews. She chose Fresh and Co, which was my second choice, so we headed to the waterfront. The restaurant is quite beautiful outside and in, even in the dark. It was very classy-looking, clean and had very interesting and pleasing decor. We were greeted promptly, and the hostess introduced us to our very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive server, Anna. Anna offered us a special cocktail, Bubbles, which was a sparking white wine with rose water and St. Germain, with an orange peel twist. I opted for the Chocolate Bourbon. My cocktail was good, but the Bubbles was really special - light and floral, very "feminine," and fragrant. I ended up ordering one for myself later in the meal. I was pleased to see the gluten-free and vegetarian meals noted on the menu. We opted to split the appetizer special, which was Oysters Rockefeller. I'm not a fan of oysters, as a rule, but the description sounded so good that I couldn't say no. WOW, I'm so glad I said yes! This was one of the richest, most flavorful and delicious foods I have ever tasted. They smelled heavenly and tasted SO so good that I was a bit disappointed that we decided to share. I wanted to save some room for dessert so I ordered the toasted Brussels sprouts salad as my meal, and my friend had the mushroom and leek porridge, which if you're wondering was somewhat like a risotto with lots of sauteed vegetables. I didn't try the porridge, since I'm gluten-intolerant (my friend said it was delicious), but my sprout salad was really yummy. I would have loved a bit more spinach and a bit less balsamic, but I enjoyed it very much. We were having trouble deciding on dessert, so we ordered two and shared the flourless chocolate torte with candied orange peel (it was really very much like a very thick and sweet marmalade) and the vanilla mascarpone cheesecake with gingerbread crust. Each was very good in its own way, but I have to say that they weren't especially memorable. Maybe the oysters just ruined my expectations for the rest of the meal. There are so many wonderful places to eat and explore in Camden that it's sometimes hard to decide where to go. If you don't mind spending a little more, give Fresh and Co a try. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to have those incredible oysters as an option.

Bistro L.

Yelp
Great food and great people. One of my first choices for the rare days I get a night off.

Assunta S.

Yelp
We decided to stop in Camden on our way from Bar Harbor to Portland. What an absolutely adorable town. We decided to have dinner at Fresh CO. Amazing service, awesome vibe and INCREDIBLE food. The chef is so aware of creating incredible dishes and keeping it clean eating. Fresh, local ingredients make for a culinary experience that cannot be beat! We ordered the specials of the day a salmon and haddock dishes that were ridiculously delicious If you're in that neck of the woods, it's a must try! And so important to me, there were gluten free, dairy free and vegan options that did not compromise flavor or satisfaction in any way! The dessert was a must!

Sarah H.

Yelp
Sometimes, you just want a menu that DOESN'T have a friend clam basket, but actually features local, seasonal fresh ingredients (hence the name). The vibe is very farmhouse chic, the service was great and the food was very unique. It sort of has a mediterranean/south east asian vibe. We had a falafel appetizer that had three little patties with lettuce, tomatoes and sauce on the side. Our chicken dish had some sort of curry flavor with carrots, peas, and potatoes. The caprese dish was not your standard caprese salad but more a hot dish based on the classic Italian salad, but instead of mozzarella they had homemade ricotta. Delish! It also had fried polenta cubes so I mean...come on. Not even fair. Come here for a less tourist-tastic dinner spot right by the water!
