We visited Estero Fresh Catch at their new harbor location after the hurricane, hoping for the same quality they used to have on the beach — but the experience was honestly one of the worst meals we’ve had in Fort Myers.
We started with crab cakes, which arrived literally freezing cold in the center. Not “cool” — cold. We sent them back and had them remade, which already set a bad tone.
Then our tacos came out dry, cold, and flavorless. The scallops were the only thing close to good, but even those were chilled, not hot. The citrus rice was overpoweringly citrus — almost sour, to the point of being unpleasant. The side vegetables were also cold and unseasoned.
The potatoes were the only decent thing on the table.
To make things worse, our waters were empty most of the meal, even after asking for refills.
After a lot of back-and-forth and complaining, the manager only removed the tacos from the bill and gave us a $25 gift card — while everything else was still terrible. At one point, it even felt like they were still going to charge us for food that was clearly unacceptable. We absolutely should not have had to pay for this meal.
This was not a minor slip — it was failure across the board: temperature, flavor, service, and how the situation was handled.
The old beach location used to be a place we loved.
This new harbor location? Completely missed the mark.
We left disappointed, frustrated, and still hungry.
I truly hope they get their kitchen and service together, because right now this place is not living up to its name or its past reputation. Not worth your money 200+ for 3 people.
