Fresh Market

When my cruise ship, the Queen Mary 2, docked at Roseau on 30 Dec 2024, my eye was immediately attracted by this modern store right on the waterfront, so I decided to check it out and I’m very glad I did. The ground floor consists of a clean, very well stocked, well air-conditioned and attractive supermarket offering just about everything you might need or want, meats, fish, packaged groceries, including many U.S. and British brands, and appetizing take-out food, which regrettably I did not sample because the Queen Mary 2 fed us very well and discouraged her passengers from bringing local food back on board. Shame. Upstairs there was a very well stocked European-style pharmacy, where a very friendly and helpful employee led me to the things that I needed because I had forgotten to pack them before setting out on this cruise ! They even carried the diabetic cough syrup that I needed. This store was a godsend and a very first-world shopping experience. Prices were very reasonable from a tourist’s point of view.

This is probably the closest to an all-in-one modern store in Dominica where you can get groceries, toiletries, and household items to meet all your basic needs, including pet care, stationary, cosmetic and hygiene products, basic kitchen tools, and pharmacy items. There are nearby parking options and the building is recently built with AC and electrical facilities like automatic doors, cashier systems that take debit/credit cards, and automatic conveyer belts. There is wheelchair accessibility and lots of American and English products. There is also a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and some locally made items for sale throughout the store like produce, meats, juices, teas, breads/pastries, honey, and cosmetics and traditional items like smoked meats and provision. I would say this is the most convenient/practical store for shopping for all your needs on island.

I would not advise anyone to shop here, I work on the cruise ship, so of course we buy supplies where we can, few items came to $50 USD, MY CARD WAS CHARGED TWICE FOR $129.95 USD. Not cool, but it was a very hard lesson learnt. Whoever want to shop there, please use cash, DO NOT USE YOUR CARD , as if you are in my situation its hard to dispute once done. Plus it is an expensive supermarket

I was a longtime customer of Fresh Market. On a recent shoping trip there, I opened the door of a display case and a package of muffins fell to the floor. A manager rushed over and insisted I pay for them as one of muffins had been damaged. I explained that it wasn't my fault but to no avail.I took the muffins ( I did'nt want ) payed for them, leaving a full cart of food in the isle and vowing never to return. I haven't. This a WARNING! If something falls from a shelf, even behind you, RUN! or you'll be buying that jar of pickled chicken feet. Wiiiiam McInerney

Quite an assortment of consumer goods. Wheelchair assessability. Free wifi. Parking on the bay front. Goods are beautifully display with a warm ambience. Isles are properly displayed.

Perfect ambiance while shopping. 🛒 and you can generally get everything you need . There’s also a pharmacy upstairs . And there is know for getting your delicious and variety gif rotisserie chickens! Lemon pepper ,jerk , or original ! And your yummy baked Mac to go with it and other meals ! Reasonable price

Nice, clean, and well stocked store.

Great selection and very modern supermarket. The prices though are insanely high! They are much higher than American prices by far. For example a package of strawberries for about $13 US and many more really pricey items. I understand import is probably not cheap, but not sure which locals can afford these prices.
