I’ve been riding my bike from Greenfield all the way to Frick Park market for over a year now about one a week JUST to get the roast beef sandwich. Lol! So that’s what this review is gonna be about. The roast beef is just right : very rare, they put just the right amount of salt so each bite you get a little bit of salt… The lettuce is crunchy which is wonderful and the tomatoes are fresh and crisp! I get it on white bread which is nice and thin and tasty and doesn’t overpower all the other ingredients. So if you want the best roast beef sandwich of your life go to Frick Park market! I also have to give kudos to the staff. They hire wonderful young people there who are very friendly, even though I’m three times their age! That is hard to find. Many times as an old man people especially young people don’t have time for you so it’s nice to be treated respectfully the same as they treat all their customers. Of course they have that wonderful indoor/outdoor area that looks out onto the street where you’re protected by three walls and a roof, but you still feel like you’re outside which works perfect for someone like me who loves nature and arrives there on my bike. And lastly, the store has these eclectic products, different kinds of candy and chips that you don’t find in most places and they even have small gifts you could buy! All in all a wonderful store and a pleasant and relaxing experience with awesome food !

Google
What a place! Staff is very friendly! Thanks a lot to Dave for making a tour and telling about the history of this place! A lot of Mac's fans were there, easy to talk to like-minded people. I will definitely visit Frick Patk Market again.

Carissa Skaarup

Google
Dave is the best!! I’m a lifelong Mac fan who was able to travel out to the burgh for the first time, and Dave truly made the trip complete by giving me the full tour of the market with tons of knowledge & facts about the place as well as Mac. Super welcoming, I’m grateful & hopeful to come back soon(:

Google
This is like Graceland for Mac Miller fans. You can feel the Macadelic energy in here. Good sandwiches, nice people, couldn’t recommend it more. And the neighborhood is cute and peaceful.

Google
This place is absolutely amazing, the owner David and staff were EXTREMELY friendly. We got a history lesson of the market and even got to meet Ron, he’s the youngest brother of the previous family that had owned the market.Ron was also so friendly and an extraordinary artist. We took some of their delicious sandwiches to go and they were definitely the best sandwiches we’ve had in a while. Please make time to visit this local market if you’re in the area.

Google
The owner was very nice and showed me around. Gave a history lesson and let me take a photo. If I see y'all at the game I'll say hi 🤙. Appreciate the recommendation for Joe's tea. It was bomb

Google
Nicest owners ever, went during Mac Miller’s bobblehead weekend so they were flooded with guests. Even then, they handled the crowd of waves amazingly and made time to take us upstairs to see the Mac collection. I believe this notebook is there year round for people to sign, Mac’s mom picks it up after it’s full

Google
Cannot say enough good about frick park market. A lot of history with Mac miller and tons of see! The sandwich was so good, fresh bread, fresh meat, and it was big! Jenna was an absolute gem. She took time to offer us a tour of the property showcasing all of the Mac miller memorabilia, the history of the owners, and what the business offers. They have a beautiful backyard garden area to eat as well as an “old garage” with seating (super cute)! And if you are an 80s/90s baby, they have slush puppy slushies which I haven’t seen since I was a kid in the 90s! Quite literally the perfect market that has old soul energy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Sweet little sandwich shop near The Frick Museum. Select from a large list of delicious and unique sandwiches, grab a drink, get some ice cream, how about some local art, maybe a sweatshirt, possibly a funny gift. This place has a little bit of everything. Seating is limited indoors (not really an option). They have created two welcoming spots to sit, one area in the back with several seats and an area in the garage (pictured). Or take your sandwich to the closest park and enjoy lunch in the park. You will enjoy whatever you get here. Can we also talk about how NICE they are here?! You would think I am their favorite family member or best friend. Just the best!

Yelp
A real nice place to drop in for lunch. Friendly folks prepare well made sandwiches, and there's a lovely back yard to eat them in. I'm a stranger to Pittsburgh, but there were plenty of locals drinking coffee and schmoozing. A nice scene for sure.

Jess S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience. Came here for the famous Mac Miller. Dave was a joy - he knew everything about the history and showed us around. Food was also a delight! As well as the backyard area. Recommend 100%

Yelp
We've passed Frick Park Market a few times on our way to the park when visiting from out of town, but this was the first time we made it inside. The owner (though extremely busy) made sure to introduce himself to us and give us a load of history on the market, a tour, and showed us some Mac Miller spots around the market. He's extremely proud of the market and should be! The sandwiches were great, the service was friendly and quick, and it's such a great place to hang out for lunch. We will definitely be returning.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Dave the owner, what a guy. I have never felt more welcome in any establishment as a stranger. As a Mac fan this was special for me to visit and made even better by the people working there. Keep doing what you're doing.

Yelp
A cute little spot nestled into Point Breeze near the park. After picking my grandson up from St Bede nearby, he had a hankering for ice cream, so we stopped in and he got a French vanilla waffle cone and a Klondike Bar (?...whatever). A nice young lady got the sprinkles on the cone just right...lol. My first time in; it's small but well stocked with stuff, including some shirts that advertise the place. Next time boy wants a sweet treat I'm sure well stop in again.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here all the way from Southern California. We are huge Mac Miller fans, so obviously frick park market was a must go on our trip to the Burg. The atmosphere and staff was great. They treated us like we were regulars. The sandwich was awesome, if you are in the area frick park market is definitely the place you need to check out.

Yelp
Growing up in point breeze I have seen many iterations of the Frick Park Market. I am so excited to see the market under new ownership. They've turned the garage into a seating area and also opened the backyard up with picnic tables and chairs. I live taking my nieces in the back for lunch when it's nice out! The sandwiches are wonderful- I'd recommend the Edgerton. They also have a great selection of drinks and snacks. The owners are very nice and staff is always friendly and helpful! Definitely make it a point for to check out this local business!

Courtney W.

Yelp
WOW, this was a highlight during my trip to Pittsburgh! It was a great place to visit to take in the history and memory of Mac Miller, but I have to say it was Dave the owner who really made it amazing. He saw us signing the book and took the time to give us a tour and tell us all about the history of the shop and some surrounding areas. I cannot wait to come back one day. Thank you!!!

Sophia G.

Yelp
The absolute nicest owner and overall good atmosphere. I'm a huge Mac Miller fan and when he saw me looking at Mac's picture he told me to go behind the counter so he could tale my picture haha. Then he gave me a free bag of popcorn while waiting for my food. There's also a book you can write in which will be given to Mac's mom. I nearly cried reading some of it. Food was great and just a 10/10 experience.

Geraldine W.

Yelp
a hidden gem in Frick park area. Friendly service. Soup & sandwhich to a higher gourmet level. enjoyed a scoop of ice cream in delightful garden area. Take home soup for dinner.

Michael J.

Yelp
Great neighborhood sandwich and coffee shop, perfect walking destination in the Frick Park area. Our Reuben was excellent as was the pumpkin ice cream. Very good espresso too, and loved sitting out in the back garden, dog friendly.

Jazmyn S.

Yelp
Traveled 6 hours from indianapolis and it was so worth it. Great food and great people, newest owner is a sweetheart

Micaela M.

Yelp
Great spot for Mac Miller fans! The sandwiches were fantastic and the customer service was great. Wish they had more t shirts thought.

Preston K.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere! as soon as you walk in you are welcomed with genuine joy. the owners are the most sweet, kind, and caring people i've ever met. the food is very high quality and tastes amazing. The other door seating in the back is also very lovely! overall if one of if not my favorite places i've ever ate!

Yelp
We went here because we're Mac Miller fans but the turkey sandwich was the absolute best sandwich I have EVER had. The bread was so soft and fresh. It's served with a crisp delicious pickle on the side. The owner talked with us and told us Mac stories for quite a while. He even showed us the sandwich from the Frick Park Market video! You should stop by for a sandwich and some Mac Miller stories

Sam T.

Yelp
Mac fans from San diego! We came to pgh last year and it was closed for renovations, so happy it was open this time around. The sandwiches were amazing, everything is so fresh. The owner was really nice, he brought us out some popcorn to enjoy with our lunch. Hopefully be back soon, thank you

Yelp
Dave is a saint. We drove here from San Francisco, Big Mac Miller fans, and couldn't have had a better experience. Awesome merch, better owner. 10/10.

Chris R.

Yelp
I visited Frick Park Market while I was in town visiting. I now understand why Mac Miller loved this place and even went to the extent to write a song about it. It's an incredible neighborhood spot and the food is just as amazing. The owner was present, employees were friendly and attentive and overall it was a great experience that I won't forget.
google avatar

Brianna S.

Yelp
I stopped in while in pittsburgh because I'm a Mac Miller fan and remembered the song he made so I knew it had to be good. And turns out it was the best sandwich I ever had. Everything is so fresh. Basically been thinking about that sandwich since Monday, trying to plan when I can drive back down there to get another haha. Located in a nice neighborhood. Clean. Great staff. 10/10.

Devin L.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches - the owner talked to me and my fiance and was the nicest guy ever. As a Mac fan, this experience couldnt have been better

jane c.

Yelp
This place is a lovely neighborhood market; the owner David is warm and friendly. He has an array of nice sandwiches and I've loved every one I've ordered. If you're lucky enough to catch the Butternut Squash soup; it's the best I've ever had (including from a private club). There are lots of old fashioned candies and other goodies.

Yelp
Once home to the famous rapper Mac Miller! Well in the sense that he worked here. This is the epitome of a mom and pop corner store/lunch counter. I'd often walk here from my home in Regent Square to grab a bite for lunch. The fried egg sandwich is my lunch pick each and every time. I've eaten other sandwiches but that's my favorite. I like that they use Boar's Head; best selection for fresh deli meats. Hands down. Another little city neighborhood gem kind of off the beaten path yet not since it's so close to the park.

Yelp
Big Mac Miller fan here from California, sad I won't be able to meet Maggi and John. Thankful for you guys. Best of luck to the next chapter of your lives. Hope to still visit soon. All love.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
John and Maggie are super nice people. They were happy to share all the Mac Miller stories they could in the few mins we were there. What a great little piece of history in a cool neighborhood. They took some pictures with us and the Mac Miller sandwich is pretty damn tasty!

Lori W.

Yelp
The new owners, Dave and Katie, of Frick Park Market are literally THE friendliest, kindest people you will ever have the privilege of knowing. The store has been renovated to keep it's nostalgic charm, but with a cleaner look. Dave is a phenomenal chef whose prepared foods will not disappoint! The shelves are stocked with the perfect assortment, everything you would need for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. Healthy, organic options are abundant. The market, under new ownership, is a highlight of the already charming Point Breeze neighborhood!
google avatar

Jordyn H.

Yelp
Amazing Place! I visited today with my parents and the owners are so sweet and its in a cute little area in Point Breeze. They figured I was a huge mac miller fan and they showed me his original sandwich from the FPM music video and invited me back tomorrow to see more! Definitely coming back!

Kevin O.

Yelp
I am a huge Mac Miller fan and wanted to visit this store before I died, it was really a bucket list mission for me. It did not disappoint. I ordered a turkey lettuce tomato sandwich just like the music video mentioned and it was AMAZING. Just a very clean, well put together, home style sandwich. I told the owner that I was a big fan and asked to take a picture and she took encouraged me to. She then proceeded to take out the famous sandwich used in the music video from the freezer, it was still there! She told me about Mac and then recommended some murals for me to check out, and even wrote me down the address. It was truly a legendary day. Great people, great food, awesome that they embrace Mac Miller!
google avatar

Maddie V.

Yelp
Heard of this place through Mac Miller of course. The hype is real here - very friendly staff and delicious deli sandwiches. The picture included is the Edgerton sandwich. Delicious and very filling. I ate outside and the woman behind the register came out to check and see if everything was good a few times. Would recommend and will probably be going back next time I visit Pittsburgh!!
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
I didn't think places like this existed anymore! I used to live in this neighborhood and we would visit often. I returned this weekend for the first time in years and am pleased to say nothing had changed! I always get a fried egg sandwich. My husband got the roast beef. The quality of their ingredients is out of this world and the portions are plentiful. Whenever we go we also grab some steeler cheese to take home. Try it - you won't be disappointed. They also have some groceries and good snacks. They are just a great, small, family business. They even let you run a tab for the month. Who even does that?! The employees are wonderful and it's just so refreshing to go here - it's like stepping back in time in the best way possible. Definitely a highlight of Point Breeze!

Yelp
Decided to do a quick trip to Pittsburgh from Cleveland to see all of Mac's spots. FPM was an absolute gem and a total surprise, Maggi and John are a treat. The sandwich my girlfriend and I split was unbelievable, and both Maggi and John provided us with so many wonderful stories about the area and their experiences at the store with Mac. Please go support this beautiful little shop.

Yelp
Old school excellent service. I had "The Kirtland" which is fresh rye bread, pastrami, peppered turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper-jack cheese and ranch dressing. It was delicious as a sandwich can be. First of all I don't even like Rye bread but most times don't like to alter how something comes just to expand my pallet and I'm glad I didn't. I'll be coming back and definitely want to try everything on the menu.

LD Max M.

Yelp
The Frick Park Market is awesome. The food is great and John and Maggie are wonderful. They make you feel as that you are home. Every time I go there I am not disappointed and what ever I order is top notch. I usually have a sandwich and occasionally I will order dinner. Whatever I choose it is always great. Josh one of their employees also makes you feel welcome. This place gives me a good home town feeling. LD Max Maxwell

Yelp
Dropped by here on a daytip during a MM tour of Pittsburgh, everything I expected it to be and more. Great deli sandwiches, choice aggregation of snacks and drinks, but what makes it really special are the people behind the counter. So much empathy and care -- so much that they pretty much know exactly what you want when you approach the counter.

Stefan D.

Yelp
Came from Dallas, TX to come and get breakfast! Food was incredible! Thank you Maggie for your hospitality! I will certainly be back! Highly suggest the breakfast sandwich on French with an egg!

Charles B.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to stop and have a quality meal. The owners are there every day and both are awesome people. I have tried every single one of their deli sandwiches and each one is equally tasty. They also have great hot meals and those are also extremely good. To make your visit even better they stock quite a few essentials for those of us that seem to forget one or two things at the grocery store only to remember when we get home. Good people and good food, can't go wrong in this establishment.

Taylor L.

Yelp
sweetest people ever! extremely kind, and welcoming- very informative and made us feel like we were at home with the hospitality they brought.
google avatar

Jenifer W.

Yelp
Long time Point Breeze resident but I've only been to the Frick Park Market a handful of times. I really wanted a simple deli sandwich and thought of the FPM. I got exactly what I wanted (turkey, lettuce, onion, and Italian dressing on white/French bread) plus a Little Hug. They're cash only but they have an ATM. The FPM might be my new go-to for quick lunch!
google avatar

Dayana F.

Yelp
Fantastic place! The owners are super sweet and told us a lot about Mac Miller since we came because of him! Great food too!
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
My friends and I came here because we've been huge Mac Miller fans forever. We were pleasantly surprised with delicious food and a nice sitting area outside. The employees were so sweet and even brought our food outside to us. Highly recommend.

Carly M.

Yelp
We came as Big Mac Miller fans and left with happy full tummies. The food was really really good. I think what sets it apart here is the freshness of the deli meat. We were really impressed. Plus the employees were very nice and helpful
google avatar

Kyle B.

Yelp
A cute little market located not too far from Frick Park. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Two sandwiches, two drinks, and a bag of chips was $20. It's an excellent stop!

Yelp
Talk about an experience for my first time in Pittsburgh!!! Me and two of my buddies came in from San Diego for lunch to check out the the legendary "Frick Park Market" that Mac used to rap about and it didn't disappoint not one bit! From the service to the quality of the food. Let me tell you, me and my buddies were blown away! John and Maggie are amazing and have so much patience for the amount of business they receive from the community. they are obviously doing something right!!! Till next time you guys are my first recommendation for anyone traveling in town
google avatar

Brandon R.

Yelp
Stopped here just to check it out. The owners are super nice people. Easy to talk to and very polite. They have a vast array of snacks, grocery, a small deli area, and probably alot of other products I missed. Sadly, they had a note saying they no longer accept credit or debit card. I almost never carry cash (it's 2016..) so I won't be able to shop there often.
google avatar

Susan D.

Yelp
It's been two years since I've last reviewed Frick Park Market? Time to write an update! I came here recently on my day off and had me a sammitch! Whoa, baby! Do I have to upgrade this to a five-star review or what?!! This place knows how to do a pastrami on rye right! To start with, they use Boar's Head meats here, which are some of the best deli meats around. Second of all, they size the sandwich just right. It's not small, but it's not so ginormous that you can't finish it. The meat is layered just perfectly on it and they don't slather on the condiments (presentation is every bit as good as taste, folks). Third, the bread tastes like it was delivered just this morning. Fourth, they top it off with a really good pickle. Finally, when you bite into it, the sandwich doesn't overpower you--instead it melts delicately in your mouth. M-m-m-m-m, you wanna savor it. Frick Park Market is much more than a deli though. You can get convenience foods, milk, ice cream, etc, here. As I mentioned before, it's a great place to stock up on snacks if you're going hiking in nearby Frick Park. And as Joseph said, the owner is happy to talk to you. Frick Park Market is a small neighborhood treasure.

Shelby L.

Yelp
Drove 2 hours to visit this market & blue slide park in honor of Mac. Amazing experience & amazing food. The owners were extremely kind & fun to talk to. Mac was right, anything you need is at the market.
google avatar

Julina C.

Yelp
This is a great little neighborhood market with a terrific friendly atmosphere. There's a large deli menu and very fresh tasty coffee, in addition to your standard one-of-everything-else lining the shelves. Its proximity to Frick Park makes it an excellent place to stop for sandwiches and provisions for a picnic. There are also a couple of tables and chairs lining the sidewalk outside in case you want to stick around. If you get really into the market, or the Point Breeze neighborhood, you can even buy a commemorative t-shirt to remember it all.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
There is nothing better than a neighborhood market, and Frick Park Market fits the bill. Come here for grocery staples, a great homemade sandwich (get the breakfast sandwich, any of them!), or just to hang out. The owner will be there & is happy to talk to you. The best part about the market, though, is when the kids get off school & come into the store for candy & soda. You can tell that the business is connected to the neighborhood and that everyone gets along. Pittsburgh treasure!
google avatar

Dale F.

Yelp
One of the best little markets around period. Always very friendly service the owners John and Maggie put a lot of personal touches into making this a neighborhood market. Like the old days when we used to go to the five-and-ten store at corner. They even have the special candy counter for kids. Definitely worth anybody stopping in and giving them a try. Also their sandwiches and food are out of this world. This is also an excellent place to get a Thursday night meal so you don't have to cook in the kitchen.
