Chiluzzo became immediately our favorite "restaurant" in Palermo. Great food (the beef spleen sandwich is delicious), friendly staff, amazing atmospere, cheap prices. We always try to find authentic places where mainly only locals go to. Chiluzzo is exactly that, the lunch spot for local construction workers. I might even wish we tourists do NOT go there so that it would remain all local and authentic... yet I cannot resist the temptation!

Friendly service, and unbelievable prices, we had the menu boccacino for 5 euros, and beers were 1.50

Great food stand serving a wide variety of local produce at very good prices. Very nice for sitting in the sun with a drink and some good quality homemade lunch or snacks. We went back over two more days!

very affordable place to try local dishes, if you’re on a budget but still want to experience the true Sicilian cuisine, this place is for you. the food was amazing, and well portioned. however, the service was not too fast, and there were not many tables to sit down.

It's a great street food place really close to the coast (where you can have a little picnic if they don't have any free tables left). There was a line that they tried to control with a ticket system, but that could be improved a bit. Around 25 orders took more or less 35 minutes to complete. Their selection is fine, a couple types of arancines (unfortunately they were out of pistachio), different sandwiches and some other dishes. My favourites were the panini porchetta (that they completed with stayed onions) and the pane ca meausa. For 3 arancines and 3 sandwiches the EUR 12 I paid is completely reasonable.

Really good street food and service. Lots of people during 1-2pm lunch time, were lucky to get seating at the table.

The spleen sandwich is excellent. Together with a cup of wine, sitting outside, it’s a great way to spend a little time in the wintery sun.

I was on my way between the botanical garden and the old palace looking for something quick to eat. I saw quite a few people at this place and decided to try it. I order something that looked like a roast beef sandwich. I was sure it was not but Google translate couldn't tell me what it was. I went with it and had the version with cheese. I loved it. It was a bit like roast beef with some crunchy cartilage type bits. I found out later it was spleen. No regrets. Best €2.50 sandwich ever, hands down. And had an ice cold beer with it for 1.50. in 2024 high tourist season, I didn't expect to stumble upon a gem quite like this.

Yelp
Great spot for a snack, pretty good arancina, friendly service and cold beer. Mostly locals here which is always a good sign. Three arancinas, a large beer and a soda was 6 euros. Can't beat that!

Yelp
This little street food stall was right around the corner from our Airbnb. You can't fault them on cost, the prices are absolutely rock bottom and it is fun to sample some famous Palermo dishes. But overall it just wasn't my thing. We had two paninis on our first visit. fresh tuna salad, which was actually quite lovely, and one with panelle (fried chickpea flour snacks) and potato. The sandwich bread had a nice sesame flavor. But it was just carb city, and all tasted a bit samey. We popped in again for a pizzette - really disappointing and flavorless - and some decent spinach and cheese arancini. I guess it's hit or miss. It's worth a try to experience the famous foods of Sicily, but I'm not a total convert yet.

Yelp
Never been to Palermo before but just returned from great week's holiday. If you want great street food that is truly authentic you have to visit Chiluzzo. Not much to look at but always busy and such a good price - don't miss it.
