"If you prefer to stay out of town, I found FriluftsByn to be an expansive campsite with a great restaurant and bar and a popular hot spot for campers and roadtrippers." - Matthew Kepnes
Great family adventure place in the heart of Norrland! Beautiful mountains, calm lake, deep forests and great atmosphere at the campsite. We've appreciated the beer and burgers event with live music and great burgers. Very much recommended

Ran High Coast Trail Coast to Summits - wow! Friluftsbyn arranged a wonderfully well-planned race, with clear and relevant information, easy check-in and transportation to the start, and friendly and encouraging support staff along the way. Definitely an event I will participate in again, and Friluftsbyn is somewhere we will come back to and spend more time at.

What a place to hike, and have a great lunch on top of the mountain! Enjoying the splendix food with a view to a kill... only thing missing was a martini, shaken, not stirred😉

Dope place, would recommend to people that want to explore Swedens High Coast region and enjoy camping on a campground. Suitable for tents, RV’s, Caravans and cabin enthusiasts. Price is a bit steep tho (for this you get allot to, but still).

Camp grounds were fine. One men's shower worked, one really didn't and they need to pay more attention to the state of the toilets as the cleanliness, especially in the morning, was not good.
A strange situation with the restaurant that doesn't open Sunday to Wednesday and all other times you really need to book a table.
Plenty to do and see locally so that makes up for the shortfalls of the place.
Still probably the best camp ground in the area all things considered.

We camped here on our through hike of the höga kusten. Facilities were pretty clean and especially the lower camping field is lovely with nice views over the lake. The shower coins give you 4 minutes instead of the mentioned 5 at the reception. I timed it after the first time finding myself soaped in and left stranded. Please make it really 5, or tell the truth. Or give the ability to pause the water while soaping in. We were also slightly disappointed the restaurant was closed when we were there 3rd week of August. To us it feels high season still but in Sweden this is off season already so many places to eat are open limited hours. Other than that friendly staff and nice inside areas where one can sit in case of bad weather.

-OK EXPERIENCE-
Stayed at this place after searching and reading so much good about it bragged by the owners on their website and some good reviews. We choose tent side near lake cause it was beautiful among all other sites they have put up for tenting, since its summer we didn't find need to book cabin. while the location is good the experience wasn't regards to quietness and comfort when its need the most which is at night; from 10pm its not allowed to talk loud and after 11pm you have to be quiet but we had around 10-12 people near our tent side screaming and being loud and very rude, people running & jumping in lake screaming. There is no staff appointed or working to stop that kind of things happening is hypocritical of owner to say you manage quiet timings for hikers so they can sleep in peace.
We had our teenage girl who wanted to experience outdoor camping and this wasn't great for her as her first camping. specially when we had planned hike next morning. with little to no sleep we had to hike next day in morning.
The place is okey nothing so extraordinary as they say on their website. Parking is included in price you pay for locations you choose, clean toilets and showers, has small kitchen and laundry rooms if you need. and then there are cabins which you can rent. would visit again and see if experience gets better or worse.
