This museum is awesome!!! So well organized and beautifully displayed …. Lots of amazing pottery, baskets, history, artifacts, a variety of weapons and their uses, code talkers, whaling items, instruments , a beautiful nature trail as well etc.. the list goes on…. There’s even a cool short video about the founder of this museum, which is absolutely amazing! And the woman that runs the museum is very very knowledgeable and very pleasant to speak with! My only regret is not having done this museum sooner. $8 / adult and worth every bit of it. We will definitely be back.!

Great little museum! While the actual size of the museum is on the small side the amount of artifacts makes up for it. It’s well worth the stop and the small cost of admission to see the vast array of artifacts.

While on vacation we were limited in the things we could visit of course. We chose this place bc we found a presentation being done for the same day we would be able to go. We could learn about who was chief and the natives all in one visit. The reason I gave 4 stars is bc there was NO presentation. We asked about it and were taken to another building only to play a couple games. Now, we appreciated the fun and the learning we did, but I am really disappointed in not having gotten what we expected, especially since our time is limited. Thank you for chatting with my girls and letting us browse the place.

The Museum was small but really nice! I loved the multi-nation approach. They also talked about how human impact has affected the environment of the Outer Banks. It was Beautiful. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

My wife and daughter loved it here. I did too, of course. We had some laughs at the some of the snarky explanations (ie- appropriation of the swastika by “the little Austrian corporal”, I believe it was). There were lots of cool artifacts. I wish the facility got the funding it deserves, but we can probably accredit that to the erasure of Native culture. We went out back to check out the nature walk, but due to the season the mosquitoes were so rude. We’ll definitely be back.

Visited this museum last summer. It has a very nice collection of Native American artifacts, very informative and interesting galleries and displays. Friendly and Knowledgeable staff, very reasonable rates, plenty of souvenir items for sale. A must see museum when visiting Hatteras island.

Very educational place to take your family. It's not too big to where young children would get bored and you can keep there attention quite well. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The weather was nice so we enjoyed the trail as well.
