Thank you Don for your generosity and tentativeness to caring for the guests at the campground. Always checking on everyone and seems happy to be at work every day. He will go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. He deserves a raise and a vacation since he works such long hours.

This was our first time to camp here. It is a nice camping area. The workers here were very nice and helpful. The bathrooms are very clean and well taken care of. We would definitely stay here again if we're back in the area. You can walk up to the road they have a nice restaurant right there at the entrance. The restaurant has seafood that is freshly caught. They also serve specialty drinks or food, which was delicious

Place is well kept. Clean bath houses and laundry facilities. Beautiful sound front location for awesome sunsets. Cabins are well kept, just a basic cabin. May need a mattress topper, foam bedding is very uncomfortable. The campsites are very nice sizes and adequate drainage when there are storms. Nice area for pets with shower for pets nearby. Fish cleaning station..nice campground!

This is by far the best campground in OBX. You're right on the sound and only 5 minutes from ramp 49 to access the beach. The only thing I would say is that the mattresses in the cabins are not comfortable. You will need to bring a topper. Camp spots are decent but can be a little tight on the sound front. Recommend if you're down here.

Our second visit. We had site S5 overlooking the Pamlico Sound. Excellent view. Site had been sodded probably to reduce mud when it rained. Utilities worked well. WiFi was an impressive 55 GBPs. We were able to stream via Roku during our stay. Store/office was well equipped. Staff was friendly & helpful. A fund raiser was going on the weekend we were there so road by pavilion was active. Bathrooms were clean. Small dog park next to the bath house. Pool was clean and large enough. Some sites were close. A number are located in shaded area. Wind blew up to 35+ gusts overnite, park held up well. Good restaurants up and down Hwy 12. Gingerbread House & Bakery made the best pizza we have had in a long time. Tavern on 12 is next door and close enough to walk ; good food. Shopping in Avon about 10 miles away.

First time here and I was sceptical due to some of the pics and location. Pros: Quiet, close to beach access and Hatteras. Cons: no concrete pad so when it rained a lot of black mud; pool in need of cleaning and chemicals added; no alcohol allowed at pool but the day I took my very young grandkids up there the pool was full of adults drinking beer (yes in the pool) in addition to adults sitting by the pool drinking, I left immediately; our campsite was overrun with ants and in the camper too no we don’t leave food out; 2 yr old granddaughter got stung by a hornet on the foot, fortunately she isn’t allergic. Water smells like rotten eggs and tastes bad too, which I feel is beyond their control. Need pest control!!

Tent camped for 3 nights just prior to Easter weekend. Lots of upgrades going on at the facility. Staff were great to deal with and very helpful. Bathroom facilities were updated and clean. Nice camp store in the event you left something behind. Great place for folks with dogs as they have a small dog park and place to wash your pets after a day at the beach. Only complaint was the garbage truck visited the facility about 2:00 am the first night waking up our party.

This campground is in a prime location. I can't speak to the cottages, but if you want to camp this is a great spot. The sites are level and the amenities are a quick walk to the pool or sound. The public beach access isn't too far a drive to surf or play in the sand.
