Good food for good value at the center of Antwerp. We stopped by Frituur no1 spontaneously as we were let down by the food at the Christmas market and this place saved our lunch.
The fries were thinly cut, probably by hand since they were uneven in thickness, crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The chips were well seasoned and nicely coated with salt. The unevenness of each piece brought a nice textural variation. Their curryworst is also a good option on the side, their portions are on the smaller side compared to other frituurs in Belgium.
Unfortunately, the sauces aren't house-made, but they use a good ketchup. Overall, Frituur no1 is a good option to rest and enjoy some frites.
