Fritz Gelato

We stopped by Fritz Gelato and absolutely loved it! We ordered two 3-scoop cups and one 2-scoop cup— every flavour was creamy, fresh, and full of flavour. The staff were friendly and patient while we took our time choosing (so many great options!). The gelato wasn’t too sweet, just perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous. A great treat for both kids and adults.

This place is so underrated it’s criminal. Their sorbet flavours are incredibly delicious. The Pomegranate and Sour Cherry is an absolute favourite and not something you’ll find anywhere else. The Mango is superb - not overpowering but still packed full of fresh fruit flavour. And the Apple Raspberry just melts in your mouth! Prices are fairly reasonable. The place is always clean and well presented and the staff are always very friendly and happy to give you a small taste of flavours to help you decide between all the fantastic options (there are so many)! Forget all the new places that offer a million different things packed into one flavour (it’s way too overwhelming to the palate) - This place offers classic options of incredible quality. Give them a try if you haven’t already.

Ice cream is lovely. I had the Raspberry Panna Cotta which was my favourite, very creamy and balanced, and the Raspberry Rumble a very refreshing gelato to balance out the sweet. My partner had the the Nutella, pistachio and matcha. Surprisingly the matcha was very neutral almost tasteless. The pistachio was good but I feel like it lacked that richness that other places like Messina have. Nutella was on point.

Let me tell you… After a lovely dinner we enjoyed delicious gelato!! My grandsons loved the different flavours and gentleman serving was very nice and patient with my two very active boys!! I personally loved the pomegranate and sour cherry flavour. Thank you!!!

Raspberry pannacotta, coffee flavour and vanilla are the best flavours for me! They are creamy and not overly sweet. They serve generous sizes as well! However, some flavours can be pretty icey but melted perfectly to your mouth. Highly recommended.

I had the Ferrero Rocher and Coffee rush flavours and they were yummy!

Last time: Always delicious however the size was small I must say this time. This time: Dec 7 Was given a very generous serve this time and the girl was lovely. I have experienced some bad customer service here in the past from a different staff member but I won't allow that to get between me and my beautiful ice-cream! They really do make great ice cream

Wow! Was taken to this place via a Richmond local. Who highly recommends, as I hear numerous stories about her visits here. Made my way down Richmond and tried this ever so famous gelato! A small shop front with what you need, gelato freezer and tables and chairs! Tried a few on the gelato in the display prior to deciding to have a waffle cone with cocoanut gelato and salted Caramel! The texture of this gelato was on point, very nice and flavours were nice and rich. A great recommendation.

After reading the name in more than a few publications around Melbourne, I was quite excited to try this famed gelato. I sample a few flavours, none of which seduced me into a scoop though, and I ended up going with different flavours altogether. Salted Caramel, Strawberry Sundae and a third which was well, unmemorable. The gelato was icey and didn't have that amazing full, rich flavour or creamy texture. It was too mild for my taste (I like 'em rich!) and honestly, I prefer Ben & Jerry's. You could put it down to personal taste (maybe) because all those awards aren't on their walls for nothing. Overall I came away from the experience disappointed. I'd call Fritz 'ice cream' before i'd call it 'gelato'. I will award points for generous taste testings though!

I am obsessed with this place, until recently I refused to eat gelato, why would I when I could eat real ice cream. Walking past one day & my partner insisted I try some, the bonus here is they have little sample spoons. I tried the salted caramel & wowie!!! Creamy, amazing goodness. I have been hooked ever since, I was at the point of getting some once a week & realising this is doing nothing for my waistline. Then I was online & discovered that fritz gelato is the healthier choice for a treat, it is organic, lower fat, lower carb option that contains like 4% less fat than most ice creams!! Major win!

Firstly it needs to be said that my friends would give this place five stars, no question. The reason for my three is based on one important thing... The dairy based flavours never seem to change. Okay I know all the flavours they have are award winning masterpieces but variety is the spice of life and damn it I want spice! Yes the coffee is amazing, the panecotta and raspberry is superb but in the immortal words of Oliver Twist 'I want more'

If there is one thing that goes hand in hand with summer it is gelato. I'm not talking the weak and icy kind either; I mean proper gelato - strong flavours and a creamy texture. I usually get one of the gelato flavours and prefer to stick to the fruit ones: namely lemon, blood orange or coconut. However I have resolved that this summer I'm going to expand on my usual repertoire and test out the green apple, melon and nectarine flavours too. The ice cream looks amazing and though I have yet to test it out I've heard nothing but rave reviews, especially about the caramel latte flavour. Fritz are organic too which is fantastic, and gives it an edge above some other frozen dessert venues. There are a few different venues scattered across Melbourne but I love the Bridge Road store, the staff are always friendly and it's the perfect break after shopping on a hot day. Fritz Gelato is heaven on a hot day, even if you don't end up getting anything, just stepping inside into the cool and looking at the flavours will calm you down.

Bounty gelato anyone? I am addicted! I attempted to stay away from here for a while and told myself since moving slightly further away it would not be as easy to get to, well that was a rotten lie! I will always walk the extra 5 mins for this place. They let you taste test each of the flavours before making your final decision and they usually have different flavours each time I go in but thank god they always have bounty! I find them really well priced for 2 scoops is $5.50 but it is more like 4 scoops as fritz's idea of a single scoop is mammoth! They also do take home containers, nothing like sitting on the couch with a huge tub of gelato and a spoon!

Big Fat Fail! I went here because on their website they say that they have 95 gluten free flavours. Wow! But when I went in to the store, there was no sign saying which flavours were gluten free. What's more, the staff member had no clue and had no reference material to check. So I walked out with plain lemon sorbet. Not happy! To add insult to injury, there was an unadvertised credit card surcharge. Never again. These guys may be award winning, but there are other firms out there that do a much better job at assisting their customers who have serious dietary concerns.

Always delicious, always plenty of interesting options! I was the only customer on a cold, wintry day so enjoyed the place to myself with my book. The salted caramel and honeycomb flavours are a tasty combination.
