Decent budget hotel. We had the room with the mezzanine as we had our 2 kids with us. Room was clean. Everything is very basic, but it's just what you need for a few nights. Location was a plus as it's in a lively area with restaurants but our room wasn't noisy. The smell did drift up from the fast food outlets below but it wasn't a major issue

It's a small room, but it's enough for a stay. I was not disturbed but you may be disturbed by the noise as there is a school right behind and a train station nearby. But I think they give you earplugs for that. The location is very good, there is an S-bahn station just across the street. If I am ever in Hamburg again, I will definitely check availability again. Vielen dank

Fritz in Pyjama shows how boutique hotels can be accessible. It's a low budget stay with some extra perks. Focus on detail, from the naming of the rooms, until the toiletries they use, all is very thought through. Very friendly staff who goes above and beyond, and I appreciated a kettle in the room. Unfortunately, the hotel can get stuffy in summer. The check-in is very late, and there's almost no space at the reception in case you'd like to leave your luggage, so bear this in mind. The check-in as at 4pm, and the reception closes at 5pm, which pretty much doesn't leave you much choice, and your flexibility is limited. The vicinity of S-Bahn line makes it a little noisier, but they provide you with ear plugs, which definitely helps. Other than that the location is flawless if you want to be in the center of a hip Hamburg Schanze district.

Very fresh and clean hotel with a nice hip interior. Staff Sebastian and Katrine were very friendly and helpful (and spoke very good english). Windows where soundproof so even though the hotel is situated right by the Sterschanse trainstation with lots of people coming and going it was quiet. Be aware there is a staircase and no elevator. We didn’t have breakfast, we had excellent breakfast at Denns(?) which is 50 meters to the right of the hotel.

This is just a gem of a find! A beautiful, quirky, individual place, where the attention to detail is just exquisite. To me this beats an anonymous hotel chain hands down. We had a room with a balcony looking over the street which allowed us to sit there and soak up the Hamburg vibe perfectly. Beds were comfortable, the shower was great. It’s not the biggest room in the world- which is to be expected of hotels in European cities, but that was another advantage of opting for the balcony. Location was amazing- close to rail links and in a super cool area. But on top of all of that, the staff were incredible. We got tips for superb restaurants/bars/shops/cafes, that only locals would know. If I could give 6 stars I would gladly do it.

Fritz im Pyjama is located in the famous Schanzenviertel in Hamburg.||The location is absolutely fantastic - lots of restaurants, pubs and sightseeing can be done by walking and the nearby train station provides easy access to the city's extensive public transport system.||||The hotel has a unique style, with all rooms laid out on only one floor and every room with a slightly different style. A real boutique hotel feeling - nicely designed rooms.||||The staff is very friendly and has tips for nearby places to visit. The reception is NOT occupied 24 hours - but provides a universal key that opens the front door. This may be the only disadvantage - no room service and/or 24h reception.||||The rooms are actually quite spacious, nice and clean. However, if you have a room that goes out to the street, it will be rather noisy. Try to get a room to the backyard.||The hotel does not have a dining / breakfast room. But you can order breakfast to be brought to the room. Nice service actually.||||Free WiFi is available.||||Side note: the hotel has a "sister hotel" called "Pyjama im Park" with a similar style which is around 5 minutes walking distance.||||Overall great value for money, fantastic location - I will definitely come back.

Whoever built this hotel definitely had the word "creative" in mind. The rooms are all themed differently, and very clean and comfortable inside. This hotel has access to many places to eat, shop, and walk around, and is literally across the street from the train station, where it takes a 3-minute train ride to get to the Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and city center. Mildy pricey, but definitely worth it! Free wifi and tons of information about the city and tourism available. It's a little hard to find because the entrance is laid back from the sidewalk and sandwiched closely between two other buildings, so watch for the sign sticking out over the sidewalk.

We reserved a room with a queen bed and instead of that the room had a bed with two mattresses. The internet did not work at all on the first day. The room insulation is mediocre - ceiling, the door etc.. The hotel is located in a very busy street and with a lot of traffic and packed kebab / falafel joints. There is no a/c. In a hot summer day it would be impossible to have a proper sleep
