Fritz in Pyjama shows how boutique hotels can be accessible. It's a low budget stay with some extra perks. Focus on detail, from the naming of the rooms, until the toiletries they use, all is very thought through. Very friendly staff who goes above and beyond, and I appreciated a kettle in the room.
Unfortunately, the hotel can get stuffy in summer. The check-in is very late, and there's almost no space at the reception in case you'd like to leave your luggage, so bear this in mind. The check-in as at 4pm, and the reception closes at 5pm, which pretty much doesn't leave you much choice, and your flexibility is limited.
The vicinity of S-Bahn line makes it a little noisier, but they provide you with ear plugs, which definitely helps.
Other than that the location is flawless if you want to be in the center of a hip Hamburg Schanze district.
