This is a delightful little bakery, and both the atmosphere and the baked goods are nice. It’s a charming little space with professional staff. The baked goods are delicious. I sampled several different items. The croissant was buttery and flakey, and the French bread had some nice chew while retaining a soft interior. They have jams for sale too, and the Dutch apple pie jam is great on their bread. It turns every slice into a great dessert. The cookies were also scrumptious. Overall I think this is an excellent bakery.

I go to A LOT of bakeries all over Michigan , Ohio and Indiana. I'm trying to find the best cannoli scones + chocolate croissant. This is the best chocolate croissant I've EVER tasted. It was so good. I had to go back and buy four more.

Google
Bring your appetite and patience. Over sized breakfast pastrys are at the ready. They have some other breakfast options as well. Of, course they have plenty of breakfast drink options. A cute little shop to peruse while you wait for your choice. They have a sit down deli across the street as well and plenty of outside seating to relax and enjoy your food and morning. I had the incredible biscuit, which lived up to its name. I really wanted the cinnamon roll as it also looked incredible.

The service and the baked items are wonderful! I wish I remember the name of the lady that went above and beyond, but my fiancé and I were inquiring about breads today & their bakery across the street that they own was closed but on the other side was open (where we were at). She went across the street & opened it up and had a huge tray of several different kind of breads. We were so impressed! She lifted that huge tray from across the street that was closed already to show us the bread… we bought two loaves plus the cookies. They really went above and beyond and we will keep coming back when we are in town. I was reading some of the other reviews and the one that had the low star rating was being a bit nit picky. It was only one week of the Best by date. That is not the same as an expiration date. That just means that it’s Best by a certain time, but it’s not bad. I could see if it was a year past that. Anyway, if you are out of town like we are, I would highly recommend coming here. Good quality ingredients and great friendly service!

Google
Drew Logan is a phenomenal pastry chef. We hired Froehlich's for our wedding dessert and there was not one dessert left at the end of the night. We went with the chocolate cake, cheesecake, key lime glasses and Carrot Pineapple Rum Cake for our mini dessert options and the chocolate cake for our main two tier cake. He was very great to work with as well! I would recommend hiring Froehlich's for any pastry needs!

Google
Went here after reading a review that they had a delicious breakfast wrap and it didn't disappoint! My husband loved their wrap (he preferred it without the olives) and I had the most delicious biscuit egg sandwich with a homemade biscuit to die for!! We went for breakfast here twice during our trip since it was delicious and they have outdoor tables where we could have our dog sit with us. Their chai latte is also delicious. The food does take a bit to prepare but they have items you can look at while you wait.

Google
Five stars for this fantastic Bakery, and all things for the kitchen shop. We were visiting the New Buffalo area from Chicago and we are so happy we traveled to this lovely shop. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and quickly got us all of the jams and jellies and pastries and breads and take home pre-made Gourmet Quality Foods that we could pack in our car! We bought plenty of jars of jam so we can bring them home and give them as gifts.

Google
What an amazing bakery this was! The flatbread is to die for. I wish I was closer so I could come here everyday. My family will definitely be stopping every time we drive through.

Yelp
This place is adorable and everything is so delicious! We stayed nearby for a beach trip and really enjoyed walking to the bakery every morning to get fresh treats! I especially loved the croissant breakfast sandwich and rosemary flatbread!

Yelp
One of the only places in Three oaks to eat but we came here pretty much every day for coffee and breakfast. Super cute and quaint shop with breakfast sandwiches, pastries, bread and coffee drinks. The staff is so friendly and went above and beyond and made my nephew a from-scratch chocolate milk. He loved it. They're def short staffed so you need to observe some patience. And the line can be long! So get there early.

Yelp
Delightful bakery and drink emporium- also perfect if you need a gift of any kind: birthday gift, hostess gift, housewarming gift, etc! They also have the loveliest and most thoughtful (and sometimes sarcastic) cards! The strawberry matcha was on their summer menu, and it was divine! There's only 2 tables inside because the rest are outside on the sidewalk. What a perfect location for shopping there incredible skips on this block!

Yelp
A little pricey for a breakfast sandwich $9 but it was delicious! The egg was so fluffy and fresh. The bagel was soft and delicious. I also had a Frappuccino. It was decent! Make sure to look at both of their locations menus because they are very different. This place is more casual.

Yelp
Excellent service and the pastries were wonderful. It's clean and has cute little shop to browse while you wait!

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery. A must-stop whenever we are in the area visiting from Chicago. Prices were reasonable, and the quality of pastries were great. I absolutely love their Almond Croissants. We always purchase a handful of pastries to take home with us.

Yelp
The chocolate cake and ham and cheese croissants are really good. Lemon cookies were dry. Cinnamon sugar donut was fine. I went there for the apple cider donuts, before noon, and they said they sell out right away and to get there by 8 am. She also said that some were taking a dozen to go. Now this is not a real donut shop and these donuts are bigger than your hand. Maybe require people to special order if they are going to take that many. There are plenty of other places that manage to keep the donuts in stock after the first hour of the day.

Yelp
Just call Dave. They're gonna be open 10 to 3 Memorial Day. Good place if not the best place to eat in the area. That includes everything they got in Saint Joseph Michigan.

Yelp
Such an adorable local bakery with incredible drinks and food. I came in for coffee and breakfast and sat at their cafe tables to enjoy. Absolutely delicious and extremely kind and quick workers. They also sell many cute decorations, kitchen/cooking item, toys, etc. highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Yelp
Look, I understand that places are understaffed, but this place is chronically understaffed and really incapable of providing any reasonable service. The baked goods are yummy, but not worth a 20 minute wait in line (literally only two parties ahead of me - the delay was the person at the cash register who seemed very flustered and underpaid). Then an additional 25 minute wait for my latte which came out with weak espresso and milk so scalded I couldn't drink it - a total waste of money. They apologized for the wait but not the completely nasty coffee. I saw at least two other parties leave before ordering because they were so exasperated by the long wait. We won't be back.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Fabulous treats and friendly staff!! And a nice selection of gifts! Delicious coffees!

Yelp
Beautiful small town bakery! Delicious food and drinks. Can't wait to go back when we come to visit the lake again!

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere and drinks. Beautiful. Great service. Very upscale bakery a la NY esque.

Yelp
This is THE place in Three Oaks. We were there for 2 days and we went back 2x. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the food is incredible. The olive relish is so good on the breakfast sandwich -- my only regret is not buying some in a bottle to bring home. Honestly everything was delicious and coffee was great. I also loved all the little things to buy in the store. Cannot wait to go back to Three Oaks to get more!

Yelp
Had a great experience with their on-line cake ordering. We ordered a gluten free strawberries and cream cake and a chocolate cake with raspberry mirror glaze. Both were amazing. Easy to order, received a text when ready and pick up was a breeze.

Yelp
Came for lunch on Sunday around 1pm. I appreciated that the tables were well-separated, servers were wearing masks, menus were disposable, and thar hand sanitizer was available on the bench upon entrance. Got the Olive Relish Burger. Very tender beef patty with a subtle briny flavor. Came with potato chips on the side which were well fried and flavorful. For dessert, got the pineapple right side up cake. It wasn't as fabulous as I imagined from the description, but it was still delicious. Got a few jams and olive relish from the store in the back of the restaurant. Also got a blueberry pie ($19) from Froelich's Bakery which is actually across the street from the restaurant. Go early if you want a wider selection. They only had blueberry pie, cherry pie, and mud pie left when I went around 3pm. BUT the blueberry pie was delicious - a lot runnier than I've seen before, but it was one of the best pies I've ever had.

Yelp
We were between stopping here for breakfast and waiting ten minutes to have brunch across the street. Everything was good but we wished we had waited for the brunch spot instead of sitting outside as the seating here is very limited- just 4 seats inside. I had a latte that was passable but not the best I've ever had. I got the veggie burrito which has a really tastey tortilla and a cinnamon roll that has a wonderful amount of cinnamon in it. But as we sat there eating we were gazing longingly across the street wishing we were inside eating instead of on a patio.

Yelp
Great coffee, great pastries, great sandwiches, fast service. Simple as that. Cute and convenient location too!

Suellen P.

Yelp
We recently used Froehlich's Catering Menu for a family gathering in the area. They were easy to work with from long distance and very responsive to questions. The order was ready at the agreed time with heating instructions where needed. Many compliments were received, especially on the chili and the birthday cake. I would highly recommend Froehlich's.

Yelp
The rosemary flat bread is to die for! It's always busy here. So, you may have to wait a few minutes in line. But, it's worth it. It also a fun place to get special items for special events like birthdays. While there try a macaron (or 6).
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little bakery in Three Oaks. Breakfast sandwich was good as well as the latte. Cute store for shopping too! Took off 1 star as things were a little discombobulated and we got our coffee about 5-10 minute after the food.
google avatar

Terra S.

Yelp
Surprisingly excellent bagels! The cinnamon rolls and donuts are crazy good. They have a full coffee bar and cute boutiques style shopping.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
THE GOOD: the cinnamon roll, maple pecan roll, chocolate chip cookies are great. The pastries here are pretty good and consistent. THE BAD: on separate occasions, I bought the streusel apple and mixed berry pies. While the crust was decent, the filling was way too runny. It ended up being a slice of pie with runny filling. Buy the pastries, stay away from the pies.

Victoria H.

Yelp
Great service and fantastic food! We always enjoy eating in the restaurant, but their bakery makes fantastic cakes and I love the option to order meals in advance to pick up and bake to make meal planning easier on the weekends (quiche for breakfast and dinner entrees for the evenings).

Yelp
A quick update from my previous review. Stopped in for a Friday afternoon lunch and had a much improved experience overall. Service was prompt and friendly and the food we had on this visit was much better. Turkey Cobb salad, burger and the shrimp poor boy were all good.

Yelp
Stopped by Froehlich's for a quick bite. I was not that hungry so I decided to get the bowl of chili. The chili was amazing especially on such a cold day in Three Oaks. The bowl came with some very fresh whole grain bread andthat complimented the chili very well. This place has been around for 26 years so they know what they are doing. Plus the service is top notch and they make you feel right at home even for this California traveler. So if you are ever in the area of Three Oaks Michigan please give this place a try.

Yelp
We stopped in after a movie last summer. The restaurant was close to closing, yet we were warmly welcomed and seated. Had a fantastic salad and my friend enjoyed a burger. Friendly wait staff. Really enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
We just bought a house in Three Oaks. We have enjoyed getting to know our new community. While we were downtown this morning, we stopped in to the local bakery for a pastry and a cup of coffee. I had no idea how many cute items they carried. Jams, the fun crackers they call flatbread ( they are very yummy) and coffee.... yum. The girl at the counter told me that they roast the beans across the street at the big store. I ordered the house roast and a cinnamon roll. My husband ordered a piece of quiche and a latte. I was very impressed with the young staff. I can't wait to become a regular.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Really disappointed in the service and prices. We came for the weekend and ordered a breakfast sandwich, parfait, and two lattes for $26. The young woman working the counter was rude when I asked her where the granola was for my "Blueberry granola parfait" and said she could see what she could do. This was after she asked me if I wanted blueberries in the blueberry yogurt parfait. Probably wouldn't recommend, drive a little bit further into New Buffalo for better prices & friendlier service.

Yelp
This review is for the new Froelich's restaurant across the street from the bakery (it doesn't seem to have a Yelp presence yet). Lovely place for date night on our family trip to Three Oaks! The service was friendly, the atmosphere is charming and the food very good. We got the crispy spaghetti and flank steak--large portions, looked pretty, fresh and tasty. The place is huge--there's a fun shop, deli and beer/wine section as you walk back. As my husband said, "It's like the Eataly of Harbor Country."

Yelp
My mom and i were out one Sunday on a ride to see some colors last fall and were looking for a place to stop for lunch. Driving through town we found this place and decided to stop. After going into the store across the street and inquiring about getting a table (and finding out it would be a half hour wait), I noticed the bakery across the street that had tables in it so we decided to go there. I am glad we did as we were both able to get sandwiches (and chips) along with a big cup of coffee. The meal was very satisfying and we both enjoyed some fresh bakery for dessert. It was a great way to spend a fall day, and as a bonus, we got some homemade jam from the store. I will go back there one day to enjoy another great meal!

K H.

Yelp
Extremely unwelcoming and rude service. We've had only the friendliest service in Three Oaks, so it was surprising to be treated so unkindly. As soon as we walked in, the woman at the counter (gray hair and glasses) said to us "what do YOU want?" We hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu. Simple things like asking what bagels they had or if they had regular lattes were met with disgust from the woman. Several eye rolls and sighs in such a brief amount of time. We felt like we were bothering her with our presence when we were nothing but kind. Latte tasted like water but the rest of the food was fine. This experience started our morning in a negative way, not sure why she had to be so unpleasant. A reminder to always be kind or at least professional!

Yelp
Stopped by on a rainy day after I decided it was too rainy to keep hiking. It was such a treat! At the bakery, I bought some wonderful chocolate cake, some jams and the perfect dish towel for my mom. I then wandered across the street to the store in the back and bought more great gifts and made a six pack from local ciders and beers. Restaurant was busy and looked great - I will be back!

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food is so good I crave it all the time! The staff is super helpful! They all a cherry attitude even during these hard times. Shopping is one of a kind for a cute gift for that hard person to buy for.

Yelp
Everything, I repeat everything I've tried here is delicious. I dream about their lemon cookies and iced tea. Their sandwiches are fresh and full of flavor. My pup LOvES their doggy biscuits. I love their charming service and ambiance. Their homemade sauces and jams are great too!

Yelp
Great bakery. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Definitely would recommend this bakery. Hope to visit it again.

Yelp
Lovely little spot in the cutest of MI towns. I enjoyed the Mediterranean tuna sandwich. Very tasty and different than something you can find anywhere else. Staff is pleasant

Yelp
Great experience! Order some food and do some shopping while you wait. Staff and server were all super friendly and gave local suggestions to check out while we were in town for a long weekend.

Yelp
After all these years Froehlich's is still amazing. Often I worry when a favorite place expands, but the character and quality have remained amazing.

Yelp
I'm happy to report the consistent friendlier service since my last post in 2019. Live locally and visit often. The bagels are fresh with just the perfect "crust" . The Turkey Club Quiche is fabulous. For us no onion fans this one has no crunch!!!!! I hope they offer this quiche often!!! Their egg and cheese breakfast croissant was tasty as well. Make sure to arrive early as their bagels sell out. Big fan of their rich flavored coffee (not acidic nor bitter). One of my all time favorites is their Apple Cider Donuts that I have only found in the fall. Exceptional!!!

Yelp
This is a great place, my wife and I just stumbled across it. The service is great and so is the food. Next time we're in the area we will definitely stop by.

Lawrence P.

Yelp
Froehlich's is in a word, excellent. Pricey, yes, but their pastries and coffee are top quality. Nice, cozy cafe / gift shop setting. Definitely a stop-in when visiting Three Oaks!

Yelp
I had food from here at a friend´s home so I took my family here on a Sunday morning with high hopes. The lady who took our order acted as if she was doing us a favor, with no smile or pleasantry at all. I told her it was our first time there and thanked her for her patience, to no avail. Food was good, but pies were overpriced and we won´t rush back due to the poor customer service. Disappointed.

Yelp
Discovered a new favorite in SW Michiana this weekend. Froelich's Bakery does top of the line pasteries and cakes (and SQUARE donuts, yummy). Good coffee too. There is also a store section with lots of local utchies. Spacious interior with fun decorations and a couple tables for eating in. There is also a wooden deck on the sidewalk outside for eating "al Fresca"(or however you say that in Duetsche). Service is helpful, prompt & friendly. I will definitely be visiting regularly when back in the area.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots! I love the olive spread that goes on some of the sandwiches. I like to sit in the quiet cafe on early mornings and have a chai near the window. I love the atmosphere and can't wait to try the spot across the street that is also theirs!

Dee-Dee S.

Yelp
I can speak intelligently on both sides of the street. First, the original (smaller, bakerylike). Their items are so unbelievably fresh. It's immaculate in there. Freshest and most appetizing displays. I have had many of the bakery items. Among my absolute favorites are: the blueberry muffins, salted pecan bar, and coconut macaroons (best I have ever had). Often, I have taken breads, bakery, and other pantry items home. Best ever, Michigan Mud Pie. Omg, it is wonderful. Had it for friends over for dinner. Everyone raved. I served it with homemade whipped cream. Now, across the street, the larger restaurant with more of a sit down presence and far more deli and pantry items... My family and I go here a lot. The food is so unbelievably good. We end up getting the same thing everytime, but all three of us get something different. I would be just as happy to with anything on the menu, but I am in love with the Peanut Noodle. The flavors compliment each other perfectly. It is seriously one of the most delicious lunch items I have ever had... anywhere. My son always gets the shrimp po boy, and my husband, the burger which he claims might be the best burger he's ever had. Potato salad and chips are also excellent. We eat out a lot. We are from Chicago and have lived in crazy foodie cities. This place is so worth the visit. One piece of advice. I think a lot of people here are on vacation and aren't necessarily in a hurry. I work in the heart of downtown Chicago where the pace is crazy. The service is a bit slow and laid back here, so be patient with a more slow placed level of service. It's always been pleasant enough, but they get busy. Really busy. And I do think sometime the staff is flustered, it i have never mistaken that for unpleasantness.

Yelp
Cute and great food!!! All homemade. The pumpkin Chai cake is to die for. Anything there you like they have ready and waiting packaged or jarred up to take home with you.

Yelp
A nice little find on the main street of Three Oaks. Froehlich's is a cute little shop with little odds and ends, jams, jellies, breads, sandwiches and just about anything else you might need to entertain or fill a picnic basket. Locals and people vacationing in the area will be packing this place during peak summer months. My wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We grabbed a flatbread and hummus, a cous cous salad and a muffuletta sandwich. Good stuff. A few tables inside and some outdoor seating as well.
