This North Carolina Town Is at the Center of The Summer I Turned Pretty | Condé Nast Traveler

"In the downtown area, the Front Street Inn is the obvious choice for a boutique hotel, colonial-style rooms, and a quaint espresso bar that transforms into a live music venue once the sun goes down." - Cass Farrar

We stayed for two nights and didn’t want to leave. This place is full of warmth and charm — creaky wood floors, cozy character, and a view of twinkle lights and fire pits that made evenings feel magical. We felt safe, cared for, and finally able to exhale. The location is unbeatable — steps from incredible restaurants and the best of downtown Wilmington, with easy parking and a personal touch (our door lock was even custom-set for us). The boutique bar downstairs is a gem, and our room was spotless, stylish, and truly comfortable. If you’re looking for a memorable Wilmington stay, don’t overthink it — book here. You’ll thank yourself later.

Loved our stay here in Wilmington nc! Great walk ability to all the shops, restaurants and waterfront. Our room was so beautiful and the bed super comfortable! Love that they have a coffee shop onsite as well! Highly recommend The Front Street Inn! The Staff were so accommodating and friendly! 5 stars!

Only stayed 2 of the 3 days I booked. Lovely old building, but have no idea where they got 3 stars as they advertise. No one on site to help if you have any questions. No ice trays in the dorm refrigerator and no obvious ice machine. Notes from management left in the room tell you not to smear your make up on their expensive sheets or they’ll charge you $100 for extra cleaning. Only breakfast mentioned was in the adjoining coffee shop I could buy muffins. The blankets or bed covering were like the flat blankets from the hospital. I slept as much on the couch as I did the bed, partly because the head of the bed is nearest the door and I didn’t feel comfortable like that and there was no tv in the sleeping area and I am used to going to sleep with tv. I booked the Jacques Cousteau room. Other than photo prints of rivers and lakes and one ornament that looked like a deep sea diver’s helmet, there was little to the ambiance. Why the figure of a dog seated doing the Buddha pose?! 🫤 Not a fan. Sorry folks. I was looking forward to a relaxing break, but I returned home a day early and hundreds of dollars poorer for the experience.

We stayed in the coastal cottage for 4 nights for our wedding. The staff is so wonderful and helpful! Everyone recognized us and congratulated us and were so accommodating. Thanks everyone for making our weekend even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back and stay with you again.

Google
We stayed at this historic place that is a block away from the river. On site parking is provided for guests and a coffee shop is attached to the lobby. Friday and Saturday nights, the coffee shop and garden gets very busy, so of course, it's a little loud. Room was comfortable (just watch your step around the bed as the feet stick out). There's a fridge and kureg, no microwave.

Google
First the good points - really cool renovated building, exposed brick, high ceilings, tasteful decor. And it's clean. The only staff we encountered is the young man managing the parking lot, but text instructions on how to enter our room with a code were easy to follow. Disappointed that we had to circle the block 3 times trying to figure out where to park because the parking lot was roped off without any signage to say " hotel guests stop and ask the attendant to let you in!". We had to park in a private home parking lot and walk to the hotel to ask where we park for the hotel. Having a kitchenette in the room is great but there weren't any dishes or cutlery available, not even a spoon to stir coffee in the paper cup provided with the Keurig. No one is on hand to answer questions or provide an extra coffee pod, or whatever you may need as a guest, except for the parking attendant who was very sweet, but obviously limited in his ability to help guests. The hotel seems like an afterthought to the adjacent espresso bar to be honest. Which is a shame because they've clearly put a lot of thought into the renovations and decor, and the location is excellent, a block from the Riverwalk.

Our room was unique + comfortable|Should have brought my bed pillow since the pillows were too high for my arthritic neck. Bottles + cans were dumped around midnight. Music played loudly til after11pm. We could hear people walking by + talking together. A car kept circling the block speeding up right by the Inn. Coffee is so delicious. For the cost of one night we thought one Danish or a croissant would be free. Only one cup of coffee is free. We will not be back.

Google
Beautiful quaint hotel in a great area of downtown Wilmington. Only thing I missed was that we had to give 24 hours notice for the Verandas breakfast. Walked all the way there and then found out kitchen was closed and that notice was required. Everything else, including the Concorde Espresso Shop downstairs was great. We will be back again.

Yelp
Beautiful place, no customer service. The only staff on hand was the parking attendant. A cute kitchenette in the room but no dishes or utensils, not even a spoon to stir acup of coffee. A shame because they've clearly put a lot of work into renovations and tasteful decor and the location is excellent a block from the Riverwalk.

Yelp
This was by far one of the coolest places we have ever stayed and will definitely be back. The contactless check-in was a breeze and the location was perfect to walk to things downtown. There was ample parking and the lot was right next to the building. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on and the TV in this room was huge! Unfortunately someone had logged out of alot of the apps so we weren't able to watch Hulu or Disney+ but that's okay. Something that was awkward was the bathroom, while beautiful, had no shower curtain so it was impossible NOT to get water everywhere when showering and you could see the water damage / rot forming on the vanity. The other thing was the "full hot breakfast" which was just some dry granola and cereal and a waffle iron. We ended up eating breakfast out each morning because my wife can't eat gluten. I was expecting full hot breakfast to mean eggs, protein, etc. The room was clean, and the AC / heat worked well as well as the water heater. I rarely saw staff so when we ran out of toilet paper or needed water we had to run to the DGX. None of that is a major detriment as we will def be back! Just some notes for improvement. Looks like a coffee shop is opening on the premises too! Garden was under construction which was kind of a bummer but it's off season so it's expected!

Yelp
Wife and I made plans to stay one night in Wilmington for the start of a North East trip. We found the Front Street Inn and made a reservation for the Bistro Suite. Once we checked in online through their app, we were offered an upgrade to the Soho London for $20 and were glad we did. Such a nice space, cool decor and a very comfortable bed. There is an Expresso Bar below so it can be a little noisy below until closing. Only slight hassle is that all interactions are through phone or email and everything is run through their app. Other than that, it was well worth it.

Yelp
Hands down to a great staff and available for any questions! This will be your recommendation to others who say ...where to stay? Look at this location on Front Street, that is the center to the attractions and Wilmington 's iconic Riverwalk's miles of shops and restaurants. When we came here to venture into a new hipster town of vintage shops and bed and breakfasts boutique hotels.. I found a hotel with its own character of activities in espresso bar breakfasts to fire pits patio areas in the back. I knew it was worth an honorable mention to all looking for this experience.

Yelp
Very disappointed in our stay. There was construction underway so no nice common area to enjoy, small back self-serve coffee and water with cookies in the evening. We selected the Bistro Suite mostly for its balcony, view of the garden and spa tub. The garden was a sad affair with mostly bare ground, no color and the main feature - a clothesline. The seating on the balcony was a wicker loveseat with torn worn spots in the cushion. In our room - the ceiling fan didn't work, the spa tub didn't work, the cold water tap on one of the sinks did not work. We continually had trouble connecting to and staying connected to the feeble WiFi. We did have a nice breakfast but had to walk a few blocks to another property for it. The huge bright spot in this stay was Damien, the manager. He has a permanent smile and was very, very personable and helpful. It seems the property has no overnight staff on premise so Damien came from his house to help address the WiFi issues.

Yelp
We returned to Front Street Inn after our pleasant experience in August. As expected, reservation, communication with management regarding check-in and details about our stay, and interaction with courteous staff was exceptional. However, it seems that the link between the hotel itself when addressing the guests, and the cafe-garden as hosting cocktail-parties patrons, was completely broken. We were offered a complimentary gift certificate, which baffled the cocktail server who had no idea what to do with it, therefore charged drinks to our credit card but could not run a tab associated to our room reservation, and in the morning had to, again, charge breakfast at Concorde ( cappuccino/croissants) separately as it could not be added to our credit card on file for "incidentals ", then as I inquired about our gift certificate, the manager had to issue a refund to our credit card and finally deduct the cocktail charge to the certificate. If it sounds complicated, it is, and it seems to confuse even the dedicated and patient employees at the register. Upon check out, I witnessed three cashiers, to include a manager, trying to figure out how to charge 3 drinks on a gift card. Wow. Years ago, you could pay cash for a beer. As for drinks, nice to have a wide selection of incredibly complex cocktails reaching stratospheric prices, but what about some "finger food" besides chips and a bag of peanuts. We are talking about flights on the Concorde, folks, not a Newark-Myrtle Beach run on Spirit Airlines.

Yelp
My friend and I were very pleasantly surprised with this property. The location is perfect, as it is on the edge of the restaurant/bar area in old, downtown Wilmington. It's an easy walk to everything. Luckily, we got the only room in this inn with two separate beds. The hotel group that recently purchased this building and two others nearby, did a great job with the renovation. The room was very aesthetically, pleasing, pristine, comfortable, and outfitted with nice amenities, such as a Nespresso, coffee machine, a Netflix account for movie watching, a small refrigerator, and even a package of wet, make up remover towelettes in the bathroom. The staff on site, primarily cleaning personnel, as their hospitality concept makes use of a lot of self-entry/self-service around the property, were all very friendly. The breakfast room provided for more than a continental breakfast which was ample for getting one energized for the day. Somehow, we booked this property at exactly the right time to secure an amazing price for this very comfortable room. We were delighted! This hotel group has, as mentioned earlier, two other properties within blocks of the Front Street Inn. While we only walked by The Verandas; we were given a tour of some of the accommodations in the Greystone Inn property--well done! The rooms are highly aesthetically appealing. We look forward to staying in that property next time we visit Wilmington. Bravo! You are rocking it, Jamie and Ace!!!

Yelp
My husband and I had a lovely evening here. Our room, the Earnest Hemingway , had a large balcony overlooking front street. Everything was well appointed and comfy. It was easy to walk around downtown and get to dinner. It also has onsite parking which is easy to use. The rate was reasonable and it was much nicer than staying in a chain hotel.

Yelp
I've been coming here for literally 20 years. The original owners, Stephanie and Jay, created a wonderfully fun yet restful place, and the new owners are carrying on the tradition. The location is absolutely perfect as you can walk anywhere you want to go downtown. They have onsite parking, which is a huge plus downtown. The breakfasts aren't heavy and fancy, but healthy and filling (no, not like a continental breakfast - way better). My one suggestion is that they need to update most of the rooms. Don't change the names or the themes, but update the bedding and furniture. It's starting to look worn and tired.

Yelp
I had a really nice stay at Front Street Inn this week! The location is great if you're navigating downtown, and parking is super easy in their front lot. Check-in was a breeze and I was placed in the Monet room which is the closest to the dining area. Chris was super friendly and helpful in answering my questions and offered to give me a rundown of Wilmington. Breakfast in the morning had baked goods, a hot egg dish, coffee, juices, fruit, yogurt, and a few more goodies. During the rest of the day, they had snacks and beverages (including wine and beer) that you're able to grab on the "honor system." You pay for drinks by writing down what you get and are charged at the end. My bed was pretty comfy and the room was really spacious and homey. It had everything I needed from a small TV, to a table with chairs, plenty of outlets, and basic toiletries. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming B&B.

Yelp
Super easy booking / checkin and check out. Loved my room. Clean. Felt like fresh new decor. Would highly recommend for the price and location!!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our stay in the Georgia o'keeffe room! All of our needs were met, the room was clean and cheerful, breakfast was tasty and leisurely, and Richard was a perfect host. The location can't be beat either! We would gladly return to this charming inn.

Yelp
If you're coming to visit Wilmington, Front Street Inn will exceed all your expectations! It's just a short walk from downtown, they provide free beer throughout the night in the lobby, pastries in the afternoon and quiche/bagels in the morning. They send detailed instructions on how to get to your room as well. Each room has a unique interior design! We will definitely be back for future visits.

Yelp
I would recommend this place depending on which room you stay in. My husband and I have stayed in The Bistro room. Very lovely and unique. The Ernest Hemingway room was recommended to us by someone who answered the phone. While the room is spacious and has a large front porch overlooking the street, there are some things lacking. The room is very bland. The first thing my husband touched (the closet doorknob) fell off. It's as if someone just through some random furniture in it and called it a day. The pictures on the website are also not up to date (see mine) and unfortunately it is noisy on the street. This could be a great room with a little more attention to detail. Breakfast here is great as are the manager and cook!

Val C.

Yelp
we stayed in the cottage. our key code didn't work for the main building or the cottage until they reset it. I can't say enough good things about the decor and appliances, beds, grounds. However, on a 96F day the air did not flow upstairs well, perhaps just excessive heat that day. the jets flying in to Wilmington woke me up at 4:30-6am so I lost all that sleep. I'm not sure how to get around that. The breakfast was a waffle maker and OJ. Lovely room but my party and another family couldn't eat the waffles as he mix tasted off/ sour/ spoiled. The breakfast needs a lot of work and no hosts to be found on property. I love the buildings and elaborate upgrades; but the planes, keypads not working and the breakfast were sub par.
google avatar

Larry T.

Yelp
Not surprised by the other 5 stars. Amazing location, such a well kept and comfortable room. Wasn't overly impressed with just Panera bagels and coffee for a "bed and breakfast," but the hosts, and location and room and ambiance was sooooo wonderful. I will be back multiple times, trying out the various rooms.

Philomena D.

Yelp
I'm not much of a B&B person,I prefer large upscale hotels, but this was cute and the owner was very accommodating in changing our room to a larger, newly redone room than what we had mistakenly booked. It was the Amsterdam room on the main level and just needs a few adjustments such as better window coverings, and less furniture. The buffet breakfast was sparse, but adequate light fare.

C B.

Yelp
What a gem! This quaint and comfortable inn has a fantastic location in downtown Wilmington. The location is spot on yet it is very private and relaxing as well. The customer service was above and beyond. From making the reservation to checking out it was a fabulous stay. It has great spots to sit outside, ground level and porches. Breakfast was simple but satisfying. Damien was the gentleman working and I cannot say enough good things about him and his informative and friendly demeanor. Great stay ... do not hesitate to book.... I would give it more stars if I could.

Yelp
First time visiting Wilmington NC and I must say I was amazed. The Front Street Inn is located in downtown Wilmington and is in walking distances to so many restaurants, bars and attractions. So convenient to grab a bite or a drink without having to drive. They offer Panera bread bagels and coffee in the morning which was delicious. We stayed in the Hampton Room which was beautiful decorated, up to date and modern and really gives you that Hamptons Long Island vibe. I will definitely be back to stay in the other rooms! Highly recommended!

Tamar M.

Yelp
Amazing customer service and memorable stay! Room was spotless and thought through. Pillows were fluffy, bed was comfy and room felt like I stepped into another world. Quiet and peaceful. Loved every minute of my stay and was sad to leave. Dale was so helpful and intentional to make sure my stay was perfect. I will be coming back with my husband for a mini vacation soon. This was a work trip that became way less stressful! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Wife and I stayed last evening, Friday. Setting in the breakfast lounge sipping on a cup of delicious coffee. Egg casserole, beautiful fruits, assortment of muffins and can't forget to mention the well stocked wine and beer bar "honor system" we enjoyed last evening. This is a well appointed B & B located in walking distance to Dock Street Oyster Bar and Ropa (ladies upscale threads). We would do it again. Thank you Polly, Richard, Chris and Marsha.

Yelp
This is a really cute place run by the nicest people. Their breakfast is amazing. I honestly don't know how they afford it. I ate myself silly on quiche. There is some history to the building that the owners are happy to share with you. Its just a really cool place in one of the best locations.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at this wonderful little place at the end of September, 2017. Everything always looked so nice and clean, and all of its rooms are charming; we were very happy in ours. One of our best decisions during our trip was to stay there. The proprietors treated us like family and the breakfasts were delicious! The setting in which we got to eat them was very charming and relaxing. Everyone there made our stay in Wilmington a great pleasure. Heck one member of the team even acted as public notary for us in time of hurried need! Something else we loved is the fact that they're located in historic downtown and they're literally right across the street from the boardwalk of the famous Cape Fear river. It couldn't have been a more perfect situation for us. We truly hope to get out that way again and if we do we certainly wish to stay with the good people at The Front Street Inn!

Yelp
I have been to the Inn three times now, and, each time I go the experience just keeps getting better. http://www.frontstreetinn.com/ The rooms: Spacious, comfortable beds (ye-ahhhh baybeeeee!!!!) antique furniture, modern bathrooms. Ultra-soft linens, 3 ply toilet paper (for my sensitive bum) and a large jacuzzi tub in most rooms. The grounds: Meticulously kept, not a tree leaf or blade of grass out of place. The sun only shines on the Inn while all the Inn's neighbors are in the rain. The breakfast: YUMMYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Traditional southern breakfast w/ grits (I hate grits, so, kiss my grits) eggs, waffles, thick sliced apple-wood bacon, real maple syrup, daily fresh-baked muffins, etc one day per week, otherwise, lemon poppy muffins, hot croissants, almond coffee cake, oat bran breads, inn-made granola, yogurt, sliced cheeses, or delicious quiche and sometimes smoked salmon, a freshly baked Strata or Pan Perdu. F-me, I am going back right now!!!! Amenities: Complimentary wifi (for porn surfing), partnership with a local masseuse for on site massage in dedicated ultra-comfortable massage suites (not rub and tug). On property parking. Free pot of gold. Free use of the owners yacht (j/k on the last two) Location: One block from the Cape Fear River (no, Robert Deniro or Robert Mitchum will not be there). The Riverwalk is totally cool, and, there are many good restaurants to choose from. The USS North Carolina battleship is nearby, they have a great tour. OK, I love the joint. If you ever find your way to Wilmington (which you should, it is totally cool), make sure you stay here. Rest it, ride it, hide it, just don't wrench it.

Yelp
I can not express how much I love this spot. The owners/management of this property go above and beyond to make you feel at home and comfortable. They are great people. Give them your business. I checked in late and a personalized Note was left with my key with detailed instruction on amenities and how to find my room. Breakfast smells amazing thought I've yet to catch it because I always have to be at work super early when I'm in town. That being said, I was given a packed breakfast instead, which Was light and an awesome gesture. Walkable to downtown. Free parking. On my second trip, they remembered me and made me feel simply at home and welcome. So personable. I can't wait to come back. Jacuzzi tub is the way to go.

Yelp
Absolutely you should stay here. This is a great Inn located on Front Street in Wilmington. You can walk to anything on Front Street but the inn is down far enough that you are in a quiet area at night. Perfect! Everyone at the inn is very friendly and easy to work with. When I made my reservation, I put my credit card in wrong and had to call them. No problem! Later I needed to change my reservation from one to two days. Since the room I had first booked was not available for two days in a row, they moved me to a slightly nicer one that was but without charging me extra. I was in love before I even got there based solely on how well I was being treated. I stayed in the Pearl Buck room. It was cozy, and I loved it. The bed was comfortable. The room overlooks a parking lot to another bulding (I think apartments?), but it was not noisy at all and I wasn't bothered by cars during my stay. There was also a small fridge in my room which I appreciated. Breakfast is delicious. I'm not a huge breakfast person by nature, but I did take time to eat the homemade goodies that were prepared (admittedly, I ate too much of them!). If you want to stay somewhere with charm, go here.

Yelp
We have stayed at this BandB many times and love it. It is located in a prime location in downtown located minutes from great shopping and restaurants. We love Front Street Inn. My wife and I stay here multiple times a year.

Yelp
We live in Wilmington and wanted a nice place downtown for a stay-cation. This went above our expectations! The Owners were very friendly. The location is great, and safe. Only a couple blocks to the main area of downtown and there is a great fondue place across the street. The pictures of our room (the Hemingway) did not do it justice. The view and private balcony were perfect for sunset. A giant bathtub with more than enough room for two. I only wish I brought my own pillow from home. Breakfast was great, they even offered to make us fresh hot eggs when we went down. It was worth the money! I usually look for a place no more than $100 a night when on vacation. But this experience has made me rethink that. We cannot wait to go back for another stay!
google avatar

Judilynn S.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay at this b and b. The bed was great. Nice and firm. Stayed in the Hemingway room. The breakfast consists of quiche, fruit, cereal, baked bread and muffins. The only problem I encountered was the electrical socket did not work in the bathroom. Also this place is right on the edge of town. Walking distance to everywhere.

Diane L.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed here a few days. It was so perfect! I stayed in the cabana room and it was so clean and roomy. The bathtub was so awesome. The service and breakfast was excellent. The owners spend a lot of time, making you feel very welcome. Everything you need to do is walking distance from the Inn. I had such a beautiful and memorable time there. Thank you- Richard, Polly, Chris and Marilyn.

Yelp
We've had a delightful weekend in Wilmington, largely due to our stay at the Front Street Inn. Loved the historic setting, comfortable room, and delicious, freshly prepared breakfast. The location is convenient to the river walk and historic district. The staff is friendly, gracious, and helpful. We look forward to coming here again.

Kathy H.

Yelp
FSI, Don't change a thing! Best place to stay downtown that is safe, upscale, historic, and convenient to EVERYTHING downtown. Family owned by North Carolinians-hospitality is their forte.

Yelp
I'd give it 5 stars, only I didn't get the superstar breakfast of young Johnny. The reheated (but tasty) quiche was yummy, but then it had bacon on day 2 and that just isn't my style. Room was great, we cabana'd it, and I can't complain. I've seen a lot of places w/ the jacuzzi in suite and have been less than impressed. this one was cute, not in the bathroom, with bath salts to boot and great relaxing jets, so me and the boytoy could relax. There are cute little balconies all around, which made for a nice evening to sit, listen to the cicadas (?I have no idea, but it sounded like summer in april), and sip/gulp down a few glasses of vino. They had wine downstairs on honor system, plenty of glasses, openers, etc, which is always nice. I do wish they had the usually ever-so-present "do not need to wash towels" sign/policy, since we went for a run and came back with fresh towels all around, hardly having touched the first round of them. Compared to other places, I was surprised about the cost, esp since there wasn't a view of the cape fear river. We had planned (ha!, like when we were 10 minutes outside of town) to stay at Stemmerman's, but if they can't pick up the phone cuz they have one too many jobs, that's they're loss. And ours. I heard the views are just prestine.

Yelp
The Front Street Inn was the best option we stumbled upon! As we made it into town we drove around looking for a place to stay. After reading the reviews for a few places we ended up here and greeted by very friendly staff. The Inn has a very personal touch making it hard to leave. The bistro suite was very accommodating with enough room, comfy bed, wet bar, a jet tub, back entrance and we felt more at home than anything else. The Inn is very well kept and clean! Breakfast was great!!!! The breakfast selection consisted of varieties of fruit, granolas, yogurt, quiche, muffins, coffee and juices. The location is perfect...we were within walking distance away from great restaurants and places to explore. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Enjoyed a long weekend at Front Street Inn. Perfect location and the owners are very helpful. Room was pleasant, nothing fancy, but very clean which is more important to me.

Jamie S.

Yelp
My wife and I stay here whenever we come to Wilmington. The owners are just amazing and the rooms are great. Honestly why pay to stay in a hotel when you can kick back in your own clean and private room and wake to a great breakfast. You can walk along the boardwalk, choose from some great seafood and other restaurants, shop in the local stores, or the street market on Saturday. This is the place to stay.

Yelp
Amazing place! I booked a few months in advance for a weekend trip as they are one of the few (possibly only) places that accept dogs; they have one room that allows for pets (the Taverna). We brought a 40-lb dog with us and the owner, Richard, was so incredibly welcoming of her. He also checked on her and sat with her while we were out and she started barking (probably at something invisible). The room itself was beautiful; it was light, airy, clean, and had an awesome shower. There's one main canopy bed and a little bed off to one side--this was a bed that our dog kind of claimed. There's a fireplace that's turned off when pets are there, and the breakfast in the mornings is fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough. It's a bit pricier than some other places, but I felt it was worth every dollar. I would definitely look into staying there again the next time I'm in Wilmington. My only regret is that the owners cannot clone themselves and open B&Bs in every single place I would like to vacation. :)

Anne K.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here while in town for a wedding. We were very impressed with this bed & breakfast. It is at the quieter end of the main "strip" in town with many great restaurants and bars. The decor and staff are lovely. Best continental breakfast I've ever had. Gorgeous spread of fresh fruit, quiche, cereal & yummy baked goods, fresh fruit juices, and great coffee. We were on our way out to eat breakfast at a local bakery, but as soon as we saw the continental breakfast here, we knew we didn't need to go anywhere! Lots of great activities and attractions within walking distance. They put fresh baked cookies and tea out in the afternoon, there were always cookies leftover when we would come home late-night! Such a nice treat - so different than impersonal chain hotels. Front Street Inn makes me only want to stay at b&b's from now on :). This place definitely set the bar!

Andy L.

Yelp
Great B&B with about 12 rooms right in downtown Wilmington. Wonderful room with good service all around. Beautiful grounds. Very nice owners and staff. ~20-30 minutes from the beach as well. Definitely recommend as a first choice when looking in the Wilmington area.

Fred W.

Yelp
A charming inn that is lovely and full of character! The innkeepers, Richard and Polly, were delightful and most hospitable. The location is perfect. If ever in Wilmington again, we would definitely stay there. The photos don't do it justice. Nice and clean also. Breakfasts and snacks were just right.

Yelp
Beautiful. Peaceful. Restful. Walking distance to a street full of restaurants along the waterfront. Also wonderful historic neighborhood for a great Sunday morning walk.

Yelp
We found the place to be charming and the people friendly and helpful. The location is convenient for walking around the Historic District, with its many restaurants, shops, and nightlife, but not in a noisy location adjacent to or above any of them.

Yelp
What an amazing place to stay! The location is perfect. You are close enough to walk to everything downtown, but you hear none of the nighttime noise. The owners are amazing and very accommodating. Our arrival was delayed until after their 9 pm closing time, so they arranged for us to pick up our keys when we got in. Our room was spacious, spotless, and a vacation retreat. During our stay we never made it to breakfast until the end of the serving time, but the owner made sure to bring out hot quiche for us, and always refilled the juice. The owners also gave us tips for what to do and what to see in Wilmington area. I will always stay here when I visit Wilmington!

Yelp
Glad we chose Front Street for our first stay in Wilmington. Stayed here last Fall with my mom and sister and we all enjoyed ourselves enormously. The inn couldn't be better located (right in the historic district, just off the riverwalk) and the owners were both friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Taverna Suite on the first floor because my mom had trouble getting around. On days when she stayed behind we knew she had good people keeping her company. And of course she was up at the crack of dawn, the first in line for their most excellent coffee and quiche. It would be fun to check out the other suites during the Azalea Festival or Riverfest.
