I took my husband here for a once in a lifetime fishing trip experience little did I know that it would not be our last. It was an incredible experience that we will return. Corey and his team are second to none, everyone was helpful, kind, organized and engaged with all guests. The cabins are clean, comfortable and warm due to the many updates done. It's nice to return to your cabin after a long day catching world class fish and have a warm shower and cup of coffee. Or head to the lounge to discuss the day's fishing with other guests before and after supper. The kitchen staff know how to cook too, the meals were diverse and well portioned. Oh those cinnamon buns!! Corey takes the time to understand your fishing level before he pairs you up with a guide. Logan took us to many different spots all over this end of Great Slave Lake. The best advice he gave was to listen to him and we will catch fish and catch we did. We trolled, casted and jigged. I never jigged like that before but caught a 15lbs trout and my husband a 22lbs trout. The water is so clear we could see the catch from bite to finish. Memories for a lifetime, thank you Logan. I highly recommend Frontier for a truly memorable fly in fishing trip. Considering other options in the area, this lodge offers great value for the experience.

Well.. this trip exceeded my expectations like never before! The fishing 10/10, the food 10/10 the staff 10/10. Seriously, if you’ve never been to Frontier you are missing out. Thank you Corey and the gang for making this an unforgettable trip! I’ll be back one day

I managed to book a spot for my Australian friend and myself last summer, kind of last minute thing when my friend said he was coming for a visit. Cory was able to accommodate us. Absolutely fantastic staff, the guides, cooks (the food is first rate!), hostess, and accomodations were outstanding. The scenery was incredible, the fishing was everything we could have asked for and more. Our guide Cade was an absolute treasure, truly enjoyed his company, and he was an expert with making a hootchie! I liked it so much, I just booked another trip with some friends, and looking forward to 3 days in July/Aug. I've had the good fortune to fish a lot of amazing places, and this is one of my Top Picks. My friend has fished all over the world, and told me it was the best fishing trip he has done. He was grinning all day, every day, and he wants to come back again as well. Update: just got back from another trip. Even better then first one!

I wasn’t sure of what to expect. But it was something that was on my bucket list that knew I had to do. I have fished for lake trout in northern Ontario for over 40 years. We would get excited when we would catch a 5lb trout or sometimes troll all day and not catch a thing. It blew my mind within 5 minutes of putting our lines in the water we each had a 10lb trout on the line. I would say we landed between 150-200 on our 6.5 day stay. I only counted 1 day (a slow day) and I caught 35. The food was absolutely amazing at the lodge along with the fresh caught shore lunch. I literally gained weight in the week I was there. The second day I was a little worried, our guide kept throwing the fish back and it was 11:55. He said they were too big….wanted 5lb or smaller. Got to hate it when the fish are TOO BIG!! Our guide Pete was amazing! Being from the area he was very knowledgeable about the lake, the animals and the history of the area also a part time comedian. I thought I knew how to filet a fish….he could do it in under a minute. The only sad thing about this trip was I had booked it pre Covid to go with my very good friend Les. He was a diehard fisherman his whole life that had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Given a year, he battled it for 3.5, passing away in May, our trip was in mid July. My cousin Mike graciously took his spot (not really into fishing) by the time we left he had caught more fish in a week than he had caught in his life. I told our guide Pete that we had brought something of Les’s that we wanted to leave behind. He said he had the perfect spot. Only 4 of us know where that is. I would like to thank Corey his staff and Pete our guide for an amazing adventure making a dream come true…..I WILL BE BACK!!

Highly recommended, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was easily the best fishing I've ever had. Our best day we caught about 80 lake trout up to 20+ lbs. Great guide and staff, food and especially shore lunches were very good, our guide prepared lake trout however we wanted, fried, baked or grilled. A very pristine area, a highlight was spotting a musk ox.

This was a phenomenal trip for us. Yes we caught more fish than we could count - including 4 trophy size fish. More important was what we saw - awesome scenery and wildlife all day long! To top it off the service from beginning to end was top notch. The staff couldn't do enough for us and our guide in the boat was helpful and personable. He will always be part of our story and memories of a trip of a lifetime.

Probably all that needs to be said is that our group of four planned to go here as a "once in a lifetime" trip to celebrate my dad's retirement and by the third day we were discussing when we would be coming back. The service from start to finish was world class. We were very well taken care of all week. One thing we hadn't counted on, but really enjoyed, was going out in the boats at night in the boats to fish after dinner. Another thing that seems undersold in the reviews was the food. The food was amazing all week. When we were picked up in the boats on Saturday morning we were greeted, then taken up to get our fishing licenses sorted out and were served fresh cinnamon buns that were out of this world. And it just didn't stop. All week. Fresh muffins for the boat every morning. It was awesome. The accommodations were great - rustic as you'll see in photos, but very comfortable. The guides worked very hard to ensure we were on fish all week long, regardless of weather conditions. The shore lunches were legendary. Caught so many fish. Bring heavy tackle. And make sure you spend some time fishing grayling in the river. It's a blast. One thing that cannot be overstated is dressing appropriately. We were there in early July (just got back) and on Canada Day it was 4C, felt like -1. Now this was colder than normal, but I consistently wore more clothing than I did skiing at Whistler this winter. Could not recommend a place more highly. Can't wait to go back.

We were up in early July. I can honestly say the lodge met all my expectations and then some. The fishing was fantastic. When you start to say oh it’s just another “little laker” and you pull out another 7-8 lb lake trout... you know your fishing trip is amazing. We caught so many lake trout, when we caught a 9 pounder I said to my guide “should we eat him?” He looked at me reluctantly and said “maybe we can catch a smaller one?” We ended up catching a 7 pounder which we couldn’t finish.... best water i have ever tasted in my life was out of Great Slave Lake. The camp was fantastic. The shore staff were incredible. Way beyond expectations. The store was affordable. The cabins were nice. Honestly... they made this into the experience of a lifetime.
