Fru Haugans Hotel

For a Heritage listed hotel it is quite charming. Staff are friendly and very customer focussed. The room we had was a good size with tea and coffee making facilities fridge flat tv chairs and coffee table. Plenty of room for two large suit cases. Room does not have block out curtains. Bathroom small with bath and shower but very functional. Hade three course dinner which was very well presented.

This hotel advertises itself as family friendly, but then opens its bar until 2am in the morning for locals. After complaining during the night, I was told it would end at 2am, but it continued until around 4am. It wasn’t just the loud music from the hotel that kept us awake, the party spilled onto the streets around us, complete with cars screeching their tyres and lots of shouting. I was told by the hotel that they couldn’t control the locals, but they actively encouraged them in to their hotel by allowing the bar to be open until 2am. A lot of unhappy guests in the morning, and this isn’t the first negative review on Tripadvisor regarding this regular Saturday night party. To act as a responsible hotel,they need to close their bar at a sensible time before midnight.

We had reserved a suite in the new building , unfortunately the hotel could not provide a dinner even at 7 PM because they had several tourist buses and special events so ordinary hotel guests were forgotten or ignored|On top of this some wild party was rocking the building until 2 AM so not much sleep at this hotel|Not recommended!!!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL||They don’t care about their hotel guests at the weekend only about taking loads of money at the bar to host a rave for locals who spill out onto the streets all around the hotel, shouting, playing loud music etc so forget any sleep until they shut the bar and they have to leave the premises at 2.30 am

I stayed at this hotel unexpectedly late at night and was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service I received from the receptionist on duty. Despite the hour, he was very dedicated and friendly. The room exceeded all my expectations, with a beautiful view. Also, the cleanliness and breakfast were simply great. The service at the buffet, from both the waiters and the chef, was exceptional. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed for only 1 night.|Very nice hotel with easy access. In a nice areas of the center with the small cute old wooden house in the same street.|We had a dog with us so we had a room in the annels.|This was fine, simple and very retro style room as in the old building.|Bedding was ok and the small bathroom too. Beautiful view from the room.|Fantastic breakfast, and also with gluten free options.|We would definitely come agaon.

This was a tired hotel and the room was very warm, with no chance of cooling it much. As previously mentioned, the beds and pillows are very soft, which is not ideal for people like me who need a firm mattress. The food was okay and the location is very good.

This historic hotel is situated in a very nice part of the town. It is right on the river and has a lovely perspective on the surrounding mountains and countryside. My room was a tiny single and it was clean but very old. |The dinner I had was very delicious and the service was good. Breakfast was also good, with a nice variety of offerings. |Because of its location and food I’d stay here again.
