Food is sometimes good, sometimes not. Depending on the day, the fish can be prepared and cooked differently. Last time the barramundi was particularly fishy and the fish on the grill was cooked in oil, which gave an unpleasant aftertaste. The calamari were soggy. Too much inconsistency unfortunately :(

Great food and friendly staff. Cool view. Coconut prawns were interesting, try them. The crocodile spring roll is great if you want to try it instead of a larger crocodile meal. First time I tried Jewfish and it was tasty. Took it as beer battered. Free iced water was a nice addition.

Amazing food, the rustic chips are the best chips ive had in years. Bit slow on the service but we'll worth the wait. Great view of the marina too.

Even though we were the only ones there at the time, we thought they’d made a mistake with our order by giving us the kids’ pack. Not so. We ordered two pieces of mackerel and chips and thought this would be plenty to satisfy two adults. Not so at this place. This is what we got at an extremely expensive price: a very measly serve of chips and two 7.5cm - 8cm long tiny pieces of mackerel that wasn’t even fresh. No joke! We understand they have a business to run but do not know how they can do this to their customers - it’s outright theft. We were ripped off big time. It’s a wonder they didn’t charge us for the salt we put on our small servings of food which was served up in a kid’s cardboard party bowl. How long can they keep this up for before they go under? Not for much longer we hope. They will soon lose customers with their greed as people will go elsewhere - they just won’t go back for crap, with such small serves and at such exorbitant prices. Whatever you do, don’t go there feeling hungry at all as you won’t have any money leftover for your grocery shopping for the week - meaning you get nothing for your money at Frying Nemo so you will have to spend a fortune to satisfy your hunger. One thing is for sure, we will not be returning to Frying Nemo. We will not give them another opportunity to kick us in the head. Trust us, there are plenty of options in Darwin, all with better quality and greater quantity. Hey, you might even find such a place just around the corner!

Visited Monday night for dinner. A little overpriced for portion sizes (particularly fish). Drinks overpriced. Tempura Oysters and Scallops were amazing. Spanish Mackeral OK but small portions and a little dry (grilled). Sweet Potato chips OK. Tartare lovely but $4.80 for 100ml tub (not full). Midgees came in just on dark and drove us home. Service? order at counter get a buzzer and collect your own, no service. Could be so much better.

This is an exceptional little seafood restaurant in a sensational spot on the Tipperary waters marina! The owner Eddie is an exceptional host who immediately makes you feel welcome and looks after you in a manner rarely seen these days. The fish and chips and salad was super fresh and our kids (who are tough critics) reckoned the fish burgers were awesome!!

Heard it was worth a try… Servings size of fish grilled and battered was ridiculously small for the price, the salad was 90% diced cucumber -At least the chips were good , but were sadly an extra cost to the order with the fish , I think that is most unusual….When the cost for two people was over $160 because we had to buy more food as the serving were so small …, At that cost you are spiking to the price range of some fancy La De Da restaurant with white tablecloths and china plates!!! . So for the price , what’s with eating out of card board boxes as if it is a take away shop we are sitting at your tables !!! … for the same type of view , I’ll go back to the Ski Club for better value , better menu and normal serving sizes .

Nice location. Decent taste. Absolutely pitiful portion sizes for the price. I paid 25 dollars for the seafood basket (fish & chips plus a few other goodies - scallops, prawns, friedn calamari). Unironically a kid’s meal size.

Yelp
Unremarkable This eatery is in a lovely location with an outdoor dining area overlooking a small marina, the menu was super appealing and the staff were super friendly, but we thought that the food was nothing special. They had run out of barramundi, so we ordered a Greek salad, small chips, Crocodile spring rolls, grilled jew fish & panko crumbed crimson snapper. The salad didn't taste very fresh, the grilled jew fish was a bit over cooked, the panko crumbing on the snapper was very heavy and the chips were average at best. We thought that portions of fish and chips were a little small too.

Yelp
We visited Frying Nemo for the second time recently and weren't disappointed. One of the main reasons for our visit was the roaring endorsements from the Darwin Coeliac group which assured us that Frying Nemo takes food allergies seriously. This was evident in the friendly staff's knowledge and assurances about separate fryers and preparation areas, which was very reassuring. The food was fast, hot and tasty and our kids enjoyed the view while waiting for their lunch, even Teddy enjoyed it! We will be back, thank you!

Yelp
I admit we went mainly because of the novelty of the ridiculous name but we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I got a chicken burger and chips which were both very good. My friends ordered fish and were happy with their meals. The outdoor dining overlooks the boat marina makes for a lovely, relaxing place to enjoy dinner.

Yelp
Plenty of Gluten Free Options, especially good for Coeliacs with a separate fryer for GF battered fish & GF potato scallops!! Fresh delicious fish, a must visit place in Darwin. Friendly staff, lovely view over looking the marina with shaded seating and complementary cold water jugs.
