Visited Fu Er Dai Dim Sum in Georgetown for a weekend lunch and had a really enjoyable experience.
Upon arrival, you’ll need to get a queue number from the staff at the entrance. Just let them know how many people are in your group, and they’ll issue a numbered ticket and roughly arrange seating based on your group size. There are plenty of seats in the waiting area, which makes the wait more comfortable. When your number is called and displayed on the monitor, you can proceed to your table.
As expected, it was quite crowded over the weekend. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dim sum, both steamed and fried, including egg tarts, fried carrot cake, sesame balls, fried prawn beancurd rolls, steamed buns, fish balls, and more. They also feature seasonal items — during our visit, the crispy prawn rice flour roll was available.
We ordered siew mai, prawn dumplings, steamed glutinous rice with chicken, egg tarts, salted egg yolk custard buns, steamed rice noodle rolls with prawns, and steamed BBQ pork buns. Everything was served fresh and was very satisfying.
The environment is comfortable and well-ventilated, making it suitable for both small and large groups. It’s a great spot for friends and family gatherings, whether for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. They are open daily from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.
The restaurant will be closed on 17 & 18 February for the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday and will reopen on the 3rd day of CNY (19 February).
