This was quite standard for a convenience store and gas station. Inside, ice cold beer even at 10:30 am, coffee, coolers with drinks and snacks. But you're not here for that. You're here for the Fuel City Tacos, which I was told are the best tacos in Texas. We'll find out soon enough. Good parking but it's a big city and it's close to downtown so be sure your doors are locked, especially at night. Be aware of your surroundings and people walking towards you. I got a cold bottle of water to enjoy with the tacos.

Clean and friendly stop after getting off mega bus in Dallas. Cashiers are very friendly and helpful. Well stocked for all your convenience food and beverage needs. The tacos from here are very good. I’m from San Antonio. Home of great tacos and Mexican food and fuel city street tacos ranked high in my opinion. Please be mindful they only accept cash at the taco stand.

Google
The tacos are delicious, for sure. But just know they are cooked with onions. There is no option to get them sans onions. Even if you ask. You are getting onions! Have a great day!!

Google
I had the beef street tacos and elotes! They were absolutely amazing!!! Even went back for seconds on the elotes!!! YUM!

Am I Too Loyal ?

Google
We circled for minutes trying to get to a gas tank only to finally get one… and then to realize… there are several trucks blocking the pumps and they are standing at the tail gates of the trucks eating & drinking!!!! 🤯There was another truck blocking on the first row! It’s Friday, implement some type of traffic control. Ladies going here alone? Be cautious. A mess!

Google
Dallas has some of the best tacos and after hearing such great reviews of this place I am highly disappointed. We ordered the breakfast tacos at 9am and they were cold to the touch and on top of that the tacos were only filled a quarter of the way. I guess they had to save the already cooked eggs for other orders... Getting egg tacos cold only mean they are not fresh, which is weird for "street tacos"... At least microwave or have them under a heat lamp if your tacos are not made fresh? If you are looking for legit street tacos and want to pay $3 a taco go to Taco La Banqueta or even a chain place like La Ventana....

I first visited Fuel City in June, and it was a great experience. The car was was awesome for a minimum price and cleaned my car well ! I am coming back for another car wash and I will refer my friends and family to Fuel City!

Google
The tacos are really good. We tried the picadillo, beef fajita, pastor, and barbacoa. They were all very flavorful and fresh. Considering the line you have to wait in to get the tacos, they really are the Chick-fil-A of tacos. They really keep things moving. The green sauce is really good but I felt the red sauce didn't have much of a flavor. They do sell elote aka corn in the cup next to the taco window. It's pretty good nothing special but it's still good. Normally, you can expect a club like atmosphere from the customers.

Yelp
Everything was great. Best street tacos in Dallas It doesn't look fancy but the tacos are fantastic.

Yelp
2:18 am we were coming in from the ER decided to grab tacos here. Called them to address my misorder. No answer We are First Timers here . They messed up our $30 order . Make sure you double check your order because they won't . Food you pay for is an experience and this one sucked Bad Experiences can occur in this industry HOWEVER performance is everything & the 4 star review here is no longer valid !!! A true 1 star experience Taco cabana is the victor today

Rebecca C.

Yelp
At $2.66 a taco, you can't really go wrong. They weren't super generous with the meat, which was a disappointment seeing as we ordered 8, but the beef barbacoa and beef fajitas were superior, tender, juicy, and flavorful. The Al pastor had a bit of spice, but it was a bit greasy. We got beans on the side, which were flavorful. Choice of corn or flour tortillas. Definitely a great deal, and you can fill up on gas while you wait!

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for a quick, budget-friendly bite after a concert and decided on Fuel City. I'd heard a lot about this place, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Despite the crowd, the line moved quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend this spot for some late-night tacos!

Yelp
I went here for the tacos and elotes. The service was quick and the food was great. I love that you are able to customize your food how you would like it. It definitely seems like the spot go to for a quick bite after a night out. And it has a great view of reunion tower.

Yelp
Hadn't been to Fuel City for tacos for years due to moving out of the area. Got to return and the tacos were just as great as before. Got an assortment of tacos: chicken fajita, pastor, barbacoa, and Piccadillo. Also tried the chicken quesadilla for the first time. All of them were great. We have had the burrito in the past--it is just ok. We would recommend sticking with the tacos. When u order you need to tell then if u want a corn or flour tortilla and if u want the onions, cilantro, and hot sauce that comes with each taco. The menu says sour cream is extra, but they provided it this time for apparently no extra charge. In the past. the quality varied per visit. For example, the pastor, which is the spiciest taco, was sometimes so uber spicy that it didn't taste good. Additionally, the barbacoa was so fatty that it was disgusting and we had to throw it away. Actually, I stopped getting the barbacoa due to this occasional issue, but my wife still gets it. They also sell breakfast tacos, but we never got to try them. Based on their other food, they r definitely worth a try. However, on this visit all the food was top notch. On many past visits parking was pretty tough. There is a lot to the right that has Tesla chargers in it now that has some additional parking and may be missed by first time visitors. The parking right in front of the station may be hard to get out if when the gas lines get busy. There is outdoor covered seating to the right of the order window, called "The Patio." You typically order and pick up ur food at the same window outside. There is an ordering window inside the gas station too. They call ur name to get ur order. On this and past visits some ppl were waiting a long time to get their order and likely missed their name called. If u think u r waiting too long, then go up and ask about ur order, but don't pester them too much or they will get mad. There is also a stand that sells Elote en Vaso (Corn in a Cup). It has corn, mayo, spices, and butter mixed together. It smells great, but we didn't care for it when we tried it in the past. However, recommend trying it if u have not, as it is really popular and many people like it. Tips: (1) don't forget to tell them corn or flour tortilla, (2) they may mess up if u don't want onions or cilantro, (3) try to avoid parking near the pumps so u don't get stuck pulling out, (4) neighborhood is still not great--eat in ur car or get to go, (5) peak times are meal hours, go outside these so it's not so busy and get take out.

Yelp
Tacos are good, wait isn't too long. The area is super sketch. I wouldn't feel safe to be there by myself. If you are with a large group you will probably feel fine. Tacos are 24 hours which is a major plus. There is also a lot of outdoor seating, but again sketch/unsafe area.

Brandi B.

Yelp
This place has the BEST elote in Dallas. I try elote at all the taco places I go and they honestly can not be beat. I ask them to start with the cheese at the bottom of the cup because when you get to the bottom all of the cheese is usually gone. Their tacos aren't exactly my favorite, I'd give them a 5/10. Their quesadillas are pretty good! On Friday and Saturday nights the lines are longggggg!! I recommend going mid day for sure!

Yelp
Unique Charging Experience at Fuel City in Dallas, Texas Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Fuel City in Dallas, Texas, for a Tesla charging session. To my delight, the location offered fast Tesla Superchargers and, surprisingly, a group of friendly longhorns nearby. These charming animals added a unique and memorable touch to the charging experience. Upon arriving at the side of the gas station, I was immediately greeted by the longhorns who seemed quite curious about the Tesla charging process. Their presence made for a pleasant and entertaining visit as my vehicle charged. I arrived at around 5:40 PM, and fortunately, I didn't encounter any panhandlers or safety concerns during my visit. However, I would exercise caution when visiting the area at night. Overall, Fuel City offers a truly "neat" experience for Tesla owners looking to charge their vehicles while enjoying the company of some adorable longhorns. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind spot that makes for a memorable and enjoyable visit.

Yelp
It's been 5 years since I moved to Dallas from Tucson, AZ, and I finally found my cheap taco place. They have tacos how they should be. Simple, freshly cooked meats on warm tortillas, a few onions, cilantro and nothing else. My girlfriend got the elote. I wouldn't bother with it. Just eat more tacos if you are hungry. It is not super clean and is cash only.

Sherie K.

Yelp
The tacos here were good, stopped here late night because there weren't many options open around 11:30 on a Tuesday. I got 4 tacos, 1 barbacoa, 1 carne Asada and 2 pastor. The pastor tacos were really good and the carne Asada was also. The barbacoa was okay but not my top pick! p I'd definitely go back but I'd stick with the pastor or carne Asada ! The service was quick, about 15 mins at a fairly busy time. The lady taking my order was busy but turning out orders quickly. The hot sauces were good. They added to the flavor of the meat. I'd go back!!

Kristyn W.

Yelp
No better place in Dallas to get gas, a taco, some elotes, wash your car, and visit with some Longhorns. It's definitely a vibe that you should experience. (Elotes is cash only.)

Jose C.

Yelp
I was in town for the night and my friend who lives in Dallas, took a wrong turn and took me here instead. Not what I had planned for my Dallas trip. Eating tacos outside a gas station. I'm kind of glad that he did. I ordered one pastor taco on a corn tortilla and two beef tacos with flour tortillas. I was not a big fan of the pastor taco, but the beef tacos were on point. The meat was nice and flavorful, seasoned perfectly and tasted great with the flour tortilla. Not sure if I'll ever be back but at least I got to try something else for once.

Jinyoung P.

Yelp
Really delicious tacos! Dallas is not a place where there's a shortage of good tacos, and even then, Fuel City's tacos stand out. M picked up picadillo, barbacoa, and al pastor tacos for the two of us, and boy, the picadillo is the best I ever had. I've had so many picadillo tacos that were dry and left me wanting more flavor, but when I bit into my picadillo taco from Fuel City, I was in love. Make sure to add lime juice, and it's a perfect marriage. The barbacoa was probably my least favorite, but it was still good. I always love al pastor and this one didn't let me down. M asked for the onions, which added another layer of flavor. I barely used the salsas because there was enough going on between the tacos, lime, and onions. Can't wait to go back and order more of the picadillo. 4 stars only because of it being cash only.

Yelp
Fuel City is something. I don't know how exactly to define that something other than this breakdown: gas, large gas station convenience store, authentic, delicious tacos and elote, a large car wash, statues for photo ops, a great view of downtown Dallas skyline, and steers. Yes folks, you read that right. There are live steers at a gas station in downtown Dallas. You can't make this place up! I've heard tell of Fuel City over the years before I moved to Dallas, and it was high on my list of places to check out once I relocated here. The street tacos and elote are really good. Remember, they are CASH ONLY! For about $12, you can get a small cup of elote, and four delicious tacos, all while sitting and eating in your car looking at a pasture with huge steers. It's an experience for sure. I haven't been here in the wee hours of the morning after the clubs shut down, but I've heard that Fuel City is the spot. It's further on my to-do list.

Yelp
24 hour walk up Must try their Barbacoa Burritos! Sketchy area but great meal l had ordered mine with the works it was stuffed with lettuce white onion tomatoes and cheese

Cherise L.

Yelp
Been going to FC for yrs now. When I was young getting it was the move after the club and while it's not bad, if definitely is better late night vs during the day. They're cash only and the chicken is seasoned but dry to me (white meat is always dry to me but i used to get their chicken) so it's been barbacoa every time and they don't disappoint. The elote is good, a good complement to the tacos/burritos/quesadillas, and very convenient while you wait and if the police haven't blocked it off it's a good place to chill in the car and people watch with tacos and a drink from the gas station it's connected to, or a dwank from the daquiris to go spot up the street

Courtnie L.

Yelp
This will be my new stop pit on my way back home. I knew by the line that this was worth it and it was. I really enjoyed my tacos and my elotes.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
I got Carna Asada, Pastor, and elote. The tacos were awesome. They were served warm. I wish they were hot. That's why they got 4 stars. AL PASTOR was the best. The corn flavor was great but it can't drain well so almost half the cup was liquid. I will return again.

Mark R.

Yelp
Fantastic gas station tacos and street corn. Made a believer out of my girlfriend who had doubts. "One of the best things I've ever eaten" was her testimony. Come for the food and gas up while you're at it. Highly recommended!

Adeola W.

Yelp
S U M M A R Y A Dallas staple that everyone should try. T A S T E My favorite thing here is the Barbacoa burrito. When I first moved to Dallas, after I ate here, I was obsessed and whenever I was in the area I would eat the burrito at fuel city tacos. Recently, I tried their street tacos as well and they were good too. I also appreciate that you can get sautéed onions if you'd like. This was also the first place that I ever tried elotes and I was in love. It tastes so good and they make it fresh right in front of you. And you can customize it to your liking. S E R V I C E There's not much service. You go and order your food at the window and wait until they call your name and then you get your bag and you go. A M B I E N C E The environment here is always really interesting. The most popular time to come is late at night probably around midnight. You will see dozens of cars and the line may be 50 to 100 people long. It is a true late night spot. But it is open 24 seven and during the day it's a lot less busy and hectic. It's attached to a gas station as well so that brings in some extra people. There are a few tables close by in case you don't wanna eat in your car. P R I C E 6.70$ - burrito 2.30 - taco R A T I N G 1 star off because the quality isn't the best but the pricing is fair. ***TIP*** Cash only! But there's an ATM in the gas station.

Nicky T.

Yelp
1st time.. pretty good. If/when in the area I would stop again. Next time will try the daiquiris and other tacos.

Shauna T.

Yelp
Cash only for tacos! I highly recommend the barbacoa and carnitas tacos with both onions and cilantro. The line can get a bit long during peak hours, but you can order outside or inside the station. Get ready for the hottest, juiciest tacos for under $2. While I'm there, I usually grab a small elote from the cart outside (also cash only!) and a Mexican coke from inside the station. Great way for a quick and easy meal in under 15 minutes.

Nancy C.

Yelp
Always the bomb.com here... great pre hangover food now nom... elotes and pastor are authentically somebody's abuela no doubt Fuel City never fails

Camellia M.

Yelp
If you ever visit Dallas Texas Fuel City is a must try spot. The wait can be long but it is worth it. The best street tacos and elotes and super cheap. Food is always hot and tasty.

Angela H.

Yelp
Food is great but maybe it was so crowded in the parking lot as a Sunday hangout which bring me to if I can bypass this location I will because gas cars are parked in the chargers, while others cars were just simply blocking the area while hanging out

May J.

Yelp
Not near as good as it used to be. Got my simple order wrong and forgot to put in food I paid for.

Dipesh P.

Yelp
Wow. I remember many a day in my late 20s ending up here at 2 to 4 in the am. We'd normally be stumbling, mumbling, and attempting to order some post partying food. Fuel city never failed 15+ years ago. So today on a random whim I decided to stop by and get some tacos to see what the hype was all about that we had to get our cab driver (remember those!) to take us to this random south dallas gas station for tacos. Well boy were my 2 am tastebuds right. Normally I revisit these kind of spots to discover cardboard on cheese. Today I discovered some delicious tacos at 2 in the pm instead of the am! I attempted to order some chorizo and egg and some sausage and egg but the gentleman behind the drive thru / walk up (it's a bit confusing) window told me the breakfast stops at 11am - it is a classy organization after all. I then asked him for what he recommended and he said the beef was the most popular so I did that and a pastor. Wow. Wow. What flavor. It came in a cute to go styrofoam container with a fresh cut lime wedge and some sauce. I used the lime edge but wanted to really taste the flavor so did just the taco. Wow. Again, delicious flavor that did not need any sauce. It was outstanding: the tortilla (I got four) was fluffy and crispy all at one and for $5 what more could be right in the world? So tasty. Both the pastor and beef steak were super flavor full with a light bit of heat. Loved it! Sooooo good. Hope to be back soon.

Lauren-Ashley B.

Yelp
Tacos are mediocre. Very mundane and nothing special that makes me want to drive out of my way to get some of these tacos. I ordered a steak taco and a bacon, egg, cheese taco. The corn tortillas was almost solid in color, a little tough and slightly crunchy around the edges. Not what I'm use to with a corn tortilla, yes it's nice it doesn't break apart but that's all I like about it. I'm sure these tacos would taste amazing to me if it was a late drunken night. I love steak tacos and this isn't it. I paid $5 even for both tacos.

Nalini D.

Yelp
Best street food taco spot in the city. The tacos are around $2 each. We usually get the Barbacoa tacos which come with grilled onions and salsa on the side. My fav thing here is the elote stand. The elote is 5$ for a medium with various items you can add/remove as per your preference. I usually have it with lemon juice, mayo, chili sauce, lemon pepper mix and cheese.

Isabella H.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way home to pick up some drinks for dinner. The lady at the register was so sweet!

Victoria H.

Yelp
Go get cheap delicious fast tacos! And It's a great place to clean your car. Pro Tip: Just don't eat the tacos in your car. Some days, I'll I want to do is visit Fuel City.

Henry J.

Yelp
There is a Taco War going on in Dallas, TX and when it comes to the street taco squad Fuel City is a major contender. Holding many "tastebud titles" Fuel City has established a strong resume/record. When you come to Dallas or already live in Dallas. you want to make sure to swing by and grab your choice of the delicacy referred to as "Street Taco". Choose your meat, will you squeeze the entire lime on 1 taco? (So many choices for something so simple) A Henry J Experience review

Chelsea M.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of gas station tacos but I'm... yesssss! Legit street tacos, a pool and random Sasquatch and dinosaurs and stuff. Very quirky! I loved it! Very good and nice staff with all sorts of weird quirky things scattered around

Trisha M.

Yelp
This was the very first place I had tacos in Dallas because of the hype. I had to try it... since then, I have come here several times at all hours of the day, note they are open 24 hours. Each time I've come including just now has been delicious. The place is inside the gas station with a walk up window in the outside. There's typically a line outside, and depends on what time for the length of it. However, don't let the line deter you as it moves fast! I typically get the pastor and chicken. The pastor has to be one of my favorites around town! The chicken is usually good but at times has been dry, nothing some hot sauce and lime won't fix! Just remember, it's cash only! Also check out the delicious Elote stand next to it!

Kawana B.

Yelp
I am from this area and I have always heard about this taco spot. I actually tried it. I ordered tacos. The hype leading up to me finally trying it was more fulfilling than actually trying the tacos. I waited in line a while. So expect a wait definitely on a Saturday night. Overall, I really did not have an ahhha or wow experience. Pretty basic taste and no alluring lasting flavor that would make me want to travel nearly an hour to try again.

LeShea B.

Yelp
The only reason it's not 5 is because of the ghetto the ghetto the ghetto. Some of my people don't know how to act. Anyway- to the FOOD. Why I'm only reviewing two items is because I didn't know it was CASH ONLY. Time: 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Ambience: lol. Well I wouldn't sit on the benches and eat my food- to go only. Loud music, shouting, burnt tire Aroma, screeching tires as people do donuts in the parking lot. Parking: it's a gas station, so there's parking all around. But it's packed. Some people make their own park. I got one of the last ones on the side. Line / wait: there's more than one line. 2 lines, I think. I waited in line for maybe 10-12 min. Ordered the food and waited for 10 min or less to hear my name called. Food: I ordered the pastor taco (seasoned pork) and she suggested beef fajita over chicken so that. Pastor was a little too flavorful. Strong taste. I usually say the opposite for things. Beef fajita was great !! I liked that one more. If pastor was toned down just a little bit more, it would've been my favorite. I was sad I only got 2 ($3.50 was my total I think). I only had a 5. Oh but next time I'm getting that quesadilla. And another taco option

Christopher S.

Yelp
I paid 33$ for 11 beef tacos , 6 corn, 5 flour, got home and looked in my bag to find 8 corn tacos in total with a different type of beef than I asked for. if my peoples aint have to eat I woulda asked for a refund on God

Michael A.

Yelp
I'll start by saying, this is a full on gas station and is full of every walks of life. The taco stand is a walk up stand and they only take cash. CASH ONLY! So here is another tip: the food is spicy! Especially the el pastor, as it should be but still, it's gotta good kick and so does the elote. I would highly advise anyone who cannot bear with the heat to ask them not to use as much hot sauce. I don't mind spicy but that stuff is hard to taste due to the heat. I was actually using that as 'salsa' for my burrito. Overall, good spot to get food, a car wash and gas. I wouldn't expect great service. Cheers! MLA

Jeff M.

Yelp
The Tacos are yummy!! Mine were!! I got the Pastor, Barbacoa, and I will go back or stop next time I'm in the area

Jennie M.

Yelp
They have the best tacos, quesadillas, and burritos here. This is a very popular place so it seems to always be busy. But it is well worth it! I was working in this area for six months and I ate from here at least once a week

Lavondria M.

Yelp
These tacos are always fantastic & this place has been featured in a whole bunch of articles about food in Dallas, Tx!!

Ajay J.

Yelp
Trust me!!!! The food here at 2AM after the clubs always hits the spot. Watch out with the spice in the elotes. It is no joke but they are super good. I had their Al pastor and have gone 10+ times!

Chris E.

Yelp
Gas + Tacos? OK, maybe not together, but at the same place, sure. There's really nothing better than filling up a tank of gas and getting some tacos on the side while you're on your way to your next destination. And better yet, not only are they any tacos, but they were some of the best damn tacos we had ever had. Our first vacation stop in Dallas strangely led us to a gas station. However, it was not by accident. I had read some articles raving about Fuel City (Texas Monthly called them the greatest tacos ever sold), but also read some on the other end (Dallas Observer called them some of the worst in the city). So who's right? Let's see ..... We dropped in on a hot Friday afternoon and arrived at 1pm. The parking lot was packed when we pulled in. I had never seen so many cars parked at a gas station .... but then again this wasn't any ol' gas station. Plenty of people were on line for the tacos or already chowing down on their lunch. The menu was posted right at the ordering window, which there were a few of, but only one was open. It was simple - quesadillas, burritos or tacos - with a selection of 5 different meats (picadillo, beef fajita, chicken fajita, barbacoa, pastor) to choose from for your flour or corn tortilla vessel. The experts spoke. The people spoke. So, simply put, we were here strictly for the tacos! At $1.62 (plus tax), we couldn't resist our temptation to order everything, so we did just that. We both ordered 5 tacos each - 1 of each meat. I ordered the flour tortilla, while my other half ordered them in the corn tortilla. While we waited, we also noticed multiple people walking around with cups of corn from the corn wagon parked right next to the taco ordering window, so what do we do? We grabbed a cup for ourselves of course. They came in small ($2), medium ($3) and large ($6). We ordered a small and watched intently as the lady put it together. Basically, there was some mayo, cheese and lots and lots of corn and it was freaking amazing. Such a simple creation and yet so good. A must order for anyone here. If we didn't order 5 tacos each, I would have ordered another cup of corn at the end to wash down my tacos. Anyhow, back to the main event, the tacos. First off, after biting into the tacos, we both agreed that the flour tortilla was the way to go. The texture of it was much smoother and it just provided for a better vessel for the meats. Second, EVERYTHING was excellent. All of the meats were extremely juicy with oils dripping out, just the way we like it. They were all topped with onions, cilantro and wedges of lime, along with their hot sauces on the side. In addition, they didn't skimp out on the meats either as there was plenty of it in them. Honestly, the tacos were really the perfect size and I would say 3-4 is a healthy serving for anyone. Bottom line - The hype is damn real. I don't know if these are the best tacos ever sold, but they are worth the trip. I would say they are worth every penny, but it's not many pennies because they are only $1.62 each, which is extremely cheap for a taco in 2019. To me, these are a steal. I've had many tacos in my lifetime and these rank right up there with the best that I've ever .... EVERRR tried. Period.

Tara E.

Yelp
These are some of the best street tacos in Dallas. This place used to be a hole in the wall - literally. There was a window in a wall you'd order your tacos, then you'd wait outside until they called out your order. Now, they've upgraded to a drive thru. But the tacos are still delicious. The beef fajita tacos (what I always get) are good quality meat, with no fatty/gritty pieces. And they give you plenty of lime.

Kristina S.

Yelp
I was looking for a simple car wash and ran across this place. The lines were super long for the car wash and food. Didn't get a chance to try the food. The car wash was ok, nothing special. Still trying to figure out why the line was so long for an average car wash. The food might be the reason why. Or the animals from the neighboring farm.

Best authentic street style tacos & corn elote I've ever had. 1st time I ate there I ended up going back 4 times that week. My fav's are the barbacoa & the pastor. Both have the most flavor. Get either the flour tortilla or just one corn tortilla (they double up). I honestly had to start questioning whether or not they laced em with crack. Legit had to make myself stop going. It even motivated me to start rollerblading again because I just knew I was gonna start gaining unwanted weight

Yelp
This is a very well maintained and stocked gas station. Now the location can be sketchy but it's a gas station. So, it helps to just expect that. It's gigantic.
