55 of the World's Most Beautiful Destinations

"Both an active volcano and an emblem of serenity, Mount Fuji can be summited for sweeping views or admired from around the Five Lakes and Lake Kawaguchi, and pairing Fuji views with hot springs in nearby Hakone is a classic combination." - Anne Olivia Bauso Anne Olivia Bauso Anne Olivia Bauso is a travel writer and hotel expert based in New York City. Fujinomiya Trail is the shortest but steepest route up Mt. Fuji, starting from the 5th Station at a higher elevation. It offers stunning sunrise views, fewer crowds than Yoshida Trail, and a faster ascent—but be ready for a tough, rocky climb.

A great area for hiking, cycling and walking in the beautiful Japanese countryside. We went on a day trip from Tokyo, rented bikes and loved it.

Beautiful walk to the park. There are locals fishing on one side and a beach for relaxing on the other side of the peninsula. There is a beautiful shrine you can worship at. It was very humid and warm, We definitely underestimated the temperature+ humidity combo!

Welp, hiking Fuji on 8.15.24 was a pretty amazing experience. If in the area, it is must do. Some tips: pick up a can of O2 to have with, Yoshida trail has plenty of decent food options along the way including water, proper footwear a must preferably a taller boot as rocks can accumulate in shoes or low boots, don't underestimate the descent, and apply plenty of sunscreen as the sun is STRONG!

Recently, my friend and I embarked on an enchanting journey to the breathtaking Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, and it turned out to be a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the natural beauty of the park captivated our hearts. Mt. Fuji's beauty left us in awe, and the cable car ride provided breathtaking views. Lake Ashi was serene, and eating black eggs by the volcanic hot springs was a unique experience. Btw, my friends took all these stunning pics. Such a good photographer he is, right? Highly recommended!

Absolutely stunning views and scenery, which i imagine only gets better with each season. The art gallery is spectacular, even if you're not a fan of picasso.

You will see and experience everything here. The scenic view of Mount Fuji, Glass Museum, Aquarium, Shrine, Pirate Ships rides in the Lake Ashi, Magical Black Eggs of Owakudani, Ropeway ride over Fuji Hakone Izu National Park, Tozan Cablecar, the Hot Springs (onsen), and many more. Though one day trip is possible, to cover all the major attractions, from Tokyo, you need at least two days to cover everything.
