Racing machines lead a gruelling life. If they survive the punishment, chances are they'd come out of it wearing proud battle scars. Just like a person who's earned his retirement, it is fitting and admirable that Toyota has such an amazing retirement garage for these purpose built beauties regardless of marque. Motorsports isn't big in my country when I was a kid. The first F1 TV broadcast I saw was in 1988, yeah that year when the white and fluorescent red steamroller flattened all comers. I was hooked. So whenever I could get close to a racing car/bike, even a stationary one, I don't need a second invite. At this facility, I fulfilled a long held wish of seeing up close some of the machines I recognized from TV. It's a very personal moment when they are so near. I loved that most of them were preserved as they left the battle arena; dirt, tyre balls, rushed repairs, these are signs of human grit and dreams, pushing against the odds to be the best. To be the fastest. Wifey accompanied me on this trip. She insisted even though she has zero interest. It's a good thing there's a cafe, where she made herself cosy and enjoyed tea and cake. The cafe's windows offer a partial view of Fuji Speedway. So if you're here when there's a race going on, you can catch the action in supreme comfort. This is the kind of place that moves me. I don't know when I'll come by these parts again. But I believe this won't be my only visit.

I visited this rare museum during my hotel stay. I’m enthusiastic about cars, but I don’t know much about their history. At first, I was just looking at the cars without really understanding much, but then a friendly staff member came over and started explaining different things about the cars I was looking at. I ended up having way more fun than I expected. I started asking questions, and he answered all of them with clear and easy-to-understand explanations. It even made me more curious about my own car—I decided to check technical manuals and videos afterward, haha. We spoke in Japanese, so I really enjoyed the experience. I’m not sure how much English support there is for foreign visitors, but since I saw several hotel staff speaking English, I assume some museum staff might as well. Either way, I recommend chatting with the staff while looking at the cars—you’ll probably learn things you didn’t expect, and it makes the visit a lot more fun.

Pretty amazing to see the original cars that had made history in the endurance racing, particularly in the Le Mans and Daytona, showcasing Japan's success in the automobile industry. The cafe also offers a nice view of the Fuji Speedway and Mount Fuji can be seen from the Fuji hotel's cafe .

The most beautiful car museum I’ve been to! Set out on 3 story’s, it’s beautifully laid out & an amazing selection of cars & artworks. We stayed at the hotel & got discounted tickets & went to the museum twice!

** Fuji Motor Sports Museum** ⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Parking**: Extremely convenient! Free parking with plenty of spots available, thanks to the museum being attached to a hotel. No stress finding a space—perfect for a quick visit. **Staff**: The team here was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Their enthusiasm added to the experience! **Tickets**: A bit on the pricier side for just two floors of exhibits. While the content is great, the cost might feel steep for some visitors. **Exhibits**: A must-see for motorsport and JDM fans! The ground floor’s **Toyota 1** and GT race cars (Mazda, Toyota GT1) were jaw-dropping. Upstairs, the **Toyota F1 car** stole the show. Loved the historical context and rare models on display. **Missed Opportunity**: Sadly, the track viewing area (via the 3rd-floor souvenir store) was closed during my visit. Not being able to see the track was a letdown—hopefully, it reopens soon! **Verdict**: A solid stop for car enthusiasts, especially to geek out over iconic Japanese motorsport history. Just check ahead if the track access is open, and be prepared for the ticket price. Still, worth a visit for the gems on display!

Beautiful building, and amazing museum for a car enthusiasts, it had on the bottom floor some quizzical antique cars with relevant information and historical facts. Although it is not as expansive as Petersham automotive museum, it was an equal if not more enjoyable experience. With various rally cars that were raced and won their particular events, driven by famous drivers (555 gc8, Collin McRae) but the highlight was certainly the 787b replica. Beautiful place
