Fuji-Q Highland

If you love rollercoasters you cannot go past Fuji-Q Highland. This was our second time visiting the park after our first visit 10 years ago. Fuji-Q Highland have some of the biggest and fastest rollercoasters in the world, but they are also the smoothest I've ever been on. Compared to Disney and Universal this place is incredibly affordable with a fraction of the wait times - no wait at all if you spring for a few priority passes. And with better rollercoasters than the other parks! Fujiyama, Eejanaika and Takabisha are all incredible. Our only complaint was that Zokkon wasn't operating that day so we couldn't ride it. :( We went on a Monday in early December which meant it was pretty quiet at the park, and views of Mt Fuji were incredible. Cannot recommend this park highly enough!

There is free shuttle bus from Fujisan station and Fujisan station hotel to the park. The park is free to enter. You can either buy a day pass or pay per ride. An adult and student day pass from trip.com cost 11,000yen. Looking at the price, if you take 3-4 rides, it will be cheaper to take the day pass. The park is not as beautiful as Disney or Universal Studio types of theme parks, it’s more practical to serve the purpose. When in December, queue are not long, but waiting time still takes 30-60min. The Naruto village is quite small. All the restaurants and food stalls are open unlike other theme parks which tends to have some closed in Dec. There is vegan curry rice and vegan ramen at the Food Stadium. There are multiple Roller coaster rides and are very thrilling.

I took my daughter who loves roller coaster there. She had the absolute best time. One of the ride was in her opinion the best she had ever done. I’m not a thrill seeker but I had a great time enjoying all the food around. The entry is free and you can buy passes for few selected ride which again for me not being there for the thrill was so cool that I didn’t have to pay for nothing. Some line but nothing crazy. Super safe. Well managed. We had a fantastic time. I highly recommend

I came into this theme park only because I had a free day in Kawaguchiko and didnt know what else to do, oh boy I had NO IDEA what I had just signed myself up for. I love rollercoasters but these were something else entirely, I feel like this theme park is a bucketlist kind of location! I lined up for these not knowing they were record breaking coasters but man once they start YOU CAN TELL I was absolutely terrified but it was so fun at the same time, if youre a fan of thrills and adrenaline you CANNOT miss this place!! Not to mention all the staff made the experience a million times more enjoyable, they were all so energetic and fun! I didnt understand the cheers or references but it was fun to still try and join in when I could! There was also next to no line for any of the rides which absolutely shocked me, I never waited more than 15 minutes for anything in the park and for alot of things I walked straight on, I also walked straight into the park with no line aswell which only made the day so much better! Definitely add this to your Kawaguchiko itinerary, its even free entry so if you don't want to go on the rides you can still enjoy the food or just buy a single ticket for the ferris wheel to get an amazing view of the surrounding mountains! (or even mount fuji if youre lucky)

Even more fun than expected! We visited on a Thursday and felt like we had the park all to ourselves. There were some really unique roller coasters. We have visited theme parks around the world and this one seemed to have done uniquely designed rides. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the region.

This is my 2nd visit to Fuji-Q Highland, and I was worried about how the day would pan out as my last visit was atrocious! However, let me say that today was a very pleasant surprise! I paid for the priority entrance, which gets you into the park 30 minutes early (which is massively worth it). Head for the big coasters first - Zokkon and Fujiyama, as they get the biggest queues! They have a lot of great attractions, but make sure you read the opening times of all attractions as some things do close at 1.30pm and some open later in the day. They do have a detailed maintenance schedule on their website, but the opening and closing times did catch me out on my last visit. Also, attractions will close early depending on the queue times (for which they make announcements around the park), so make sure to plan everything you want to ride in time. There are vending machines next to each ride to buy fast passes, which is handy at busy times! The food stalls in the middle of the park are great, I had the Indian food which was lush. They are well-priced, too. There are lots of vending machines all around the park. There are at least 5/6 gift shops with lots of cool merchandise. There is also a 7-Eleven outside the park! Great for fussy eaters or cheap snacks! When visiting, make sure to plan ahead and get there early for a head start as when it's busy, it can be very unorganised and stressful.

Super fun! Early december on a friday, 30 degrees. It wasnt that full we didnt have to wait long in line. The face id works great! And the rides were so unique, each one of the roller coasters left me wanting to get on again. Great fuji views!!

We went on a Monday in late October, and it wasn’t too packed. At most we waited an hour for one of the big roller coasters. If you are looking for a park with some of the best roller coasters ever then this is it! We loved Takabisha so much, it was scary and exhilarating all at the same time! Eejanaika is going to mess with your mind, all its twists and turns. But there are other great rides too, a special mention needs to be made for Tondemina (La pizza) ride that was fantastic. This park is filled with thrills. We had the Fuji pizza which was great. As a tip, the all day pass lets you re-enter, we went back to our hotel then returned at night, well worth it. I’ve read reviews that say the safety checks take a while and they do but honestly I was glad for it. Was it worth the money? Absolutely! I’d love to go again on a clear day when I can see Mt. Fuji.

Nice amusement park albeit a little small. The Fujiyama coaster is iconic and started the "fastest, tallest, etc" coaster competition. It's a terrific ride but not quite as good as Millennium Force at Cedar Point. There are 4 exciting coasters with 2 age restricted to 54. The other 2 are 64 years old. My biggest complaint is the pretty high priority pass price. After you pay 6,600 or 8,800 yen for a 1-day pass, each high demand ride will cost you another 3,000 yen, or wait in line 2 hours. There's no one-price, all-rides upgrade or priority pass. Oh, the 8,800 yen pass is a "priority" ticket but doesn't get you any priority for rides. That is a little deceiving since I spent the extra 2,200 yen thinking it was a ride priority upgrade. It gets you in 30 minutes before everyone else. I'm glad I rode Fujiyama but have no desire to go back (unlike Cedar Point).

My kids had a blast! They keep on talking about it! It really exceeded to their expectations! They said the rides are better than Disney! We took the unlimited rides , since me and my hubby are just enjoying the views, the foods and watching our kids , we don't need to pay for the entrance, i only paid the unlimited rides for my kids which they enjoyed a lot! Overall we will definitely gonna come back!

If you're a fan of the craziest roller coasters around, this place is for you! I fell in love with this place back in 2007 on my very first trip to Japan, with their ride Ee Janaika...it's by far the most ridiculous ride I've ever been on. The seats rotate a full 360 degrees as you're rolling around the coaster (be sure to keep your head still, against the seat or else you'll be bouncing around - and it kinda hurts). But their other rides are fantastic, especially Takabisha; that 121 degree drop after dangling in the air for 10 seconds is INSANE! Fujiyama is one of the tallest roller coasters in the world..and the view of nearby Mt. Fuji (when it's not cloudy) is spectacular! Oh, and don't get me started on Dodonpa...that initial burst of speed is outrageous! Some of the other rides like Tondemina and Panic Clock are mild in comparison but still fun. They also have this neat indoor ride called Fuji Airways...they have a funny "backstory" film on loop as you're waiting (in Japanese, with English subtitles). They also have a kiddie area called Thomas Land (based on Thomas the Train), as well as the typical merry-go-round and a spinning teacup ride. The concession stands are typical of most amusement parks with a slight mark-up in price. There's also a food court, and the food isn't great but not horrible either. They also offer a sort of "fast pass" for the main roller coasters, but I personally haven't used it since I only come here usually on a weekday, when it's not so busy to begin with. I hope to make one more trip out here before I say sayonara to Japan next year! This is my "happiest place on Earth."

A popular destination for thrill rides with great roller coasters and an amazing haunted house (which will cost and extra 4,000 yen even with the "pass"), but be warned, chances are if you come on a weekend or holiday, you will only be able to get on 2 or 3 rides (one major ride and 2 "lesser"/kids rides), and will not get the value of your pass for sure. You would be very lucky to get the value of the pass, as it's main purpose is to get you to pay ahead for rides that they know you most likely won't be able to get on. It's clever, really, and more than 75% of the visitors fall for this "scam", and of course they will cut-off rides saying they are no longer accepting people due to over-crowding. It's always like this and I advise coming on a rainy day during the week if you actually want to enjoy the park itself. But to be honest, it's just been an overall disappointing and expensive visit every time I've been here unfortunately. But that said, this place has some of the world's best roller coasters and for sure the longest and scariest haunted house, just be prepared to get on only 3-4 rides if it's a slow day here.

Many of the rides at Fuji-Q established while ago, but quite a few of their rides have world record, and the thrill live up to its reputation. Although Fuji-Q opened about 50 yrs ago, the theme park maintained very well and look almost like new. The theme park is huge, a lot of things to do: rides, theaters, haunted house, they even have a duty free shop, a hotel with spectacular view of the Mt Fuji, there is spa, and hot spring. It is so huge that my leg is sore after walking entire day at the park. It's not only for adult, Thomas Land theme park is inside Fuji-Q for young kids to hang out for a whole day. The food selection is great too, not the cheapest, but some of the food choices are Fuji-Q limited. If you don't want to miss out, check out their website before visit.

My boyfriend and I were in Japan last week and we were super excited for Fuji Q highlands! I was amazed at how intricate and SCARY the rides looked and was so excited to go on them! Since we were at the Highland resort (which we loved) we got to go into the park 30 minutes early. Does not seem like very much time, but we'll take it! So we quickly went into the park and got in line for one of the popular rides (can't remember the ride names). The line didn't even start moving until 9am when the park officially opened...granted we were closer to the front, but it still took a long time. When we finally got to the front, it was easy to see why it took so long. They only had two sets of ride and it took like 5 minutes to load/unload the passengers. It just seemed really inefficient with time. I mean I'm glad they took their time making sure we were secure since we got spun upside down, but it just seems like the process could have flowed a lot smoother. Even though we waited long, the ride itself was a lot of fun! We also went in the haunted hospital! This was also a lot of fun...super scary, but worth it. I felt like I was in the Grudge or the Ring! If you want a good thrill, I recommend going in here! That's all I'm gonna say so I don't give away too much! ;) After lunch we went back to the hotel to rest and went back into the park at around 5pm. We decided to try going on other "screamer" rides and guess what?! They were already closed for the night, because the lines were so long!!! The park was not even supposed to close until 7pm! So we walked around trying to find something we could ride and finally found the "Mad mouse". It's more of a kiddie roller coaster, but we figured we'd go on it so at least we wouldn't waste all our time just walking around. Only the smaller rides were left open. Overall, I think this park could potentially be a lot of fun, but my boyfriend and I were just frustrated with the extremely long lines and how early they cut off the lines for the "screamers".

The staffs don't know how to service. One staff forcing visitors to scroll through their cell phone photos by terrible attitude and words. This staff even try to touch visitors' cell phone. 工作人員素質非常差，強行要求翻看手機，甚至要求碰手機。並且語言表達糟糕。

Perfect for teenagers. Crazy roller coasters. Many good and yummy restaurants and cafes. But need to avoid peak lunch time because it's difficult to find a table. Unlucky, we stayed here for 3 hours due to heavy rain and bad weather.

Best theme park ever! The rides are terrifying but awesome and all with an astounding view. People had said it wasn't very tourist friendly, but we had no issues getting around and found most signs were in English. The journey from Tokyo center was long, but we felt if we hadn't gotten there for opening, cues would have been far longer. The website let's you know when busy days are expected, and as they don't have fast track or the likes, I'd recommend avoiding these days. We went on what was considered a slow day and we still were waiting around an hour per ride. They have food vending machines if your nervous about trying to order food, and it's all pretty tasty as is the norm in Japan :) The roller coasters although fast, high and discombobulating, feel very safe. They are well maintained as is the whole Park. Safety checks seemed to be going on regularly too. Lots of photo ops and rides that feel like you could only experience them in Japan.

If you think you are a roller coaster aficionado, try this place. This place has some crazy rides! When I returned to Six Flags, I wasn't thrilled at all. It's located very near Mt. Fuji, so on a clear day, you get a spectacular view while you are enjoying the rides. Here is a list of must-rides at this place: 1. 高飛車 (Takabisha): This thing has a major free fall that actually goes 121 degress inward! Google the pic to see what I mean. 2. ええじゃないか (Eejanaika): This baby has invertable seats to go along with the flips that are on the track. As a result, you flip 14 times during this ride. You feel like you're completely out of control on this ride. I believe they said that is a Guinness World Record. 3. ドドンパ (Dodonpa): How about 0-106mph in 1.8 seconds? Trust me, most people have not felt acceleration out of the gate this fast ever. It holds some Guiness World Record as well of which I can't exactly remember. 4.FUJIYAMA (Out of reverence to the actual Mt. Fuji, this ride name is not written in Japanese): At one point this monster held a World Record for longest drop. There's also many other rides such as a Children's park, much more tame rides, as well as a cool haunted house that takes about 30 minutes to get through. If you ride Nagashimasuka, the water ride, they sell you ponchos for 300 yen. I highly recommend that you buy one unless you don't mind getting super soaked. This WILL happen. No way to avoid it. Can't get enough of this place. If you look around, there are bus and park packages around for your convenience as well. You'll have to get up pretty early in the morning though. Well worth it.

Top notch roller coasters that made Guinness world records and are super fun to go on. Got quite an adrenaline rush. Plus there's a Thomas land with trains and stuff for kids which was also awesome. Always get a coupon to save a few hundred Yen Everything is doable in one day - park is small compared to American theme parks and hence the one less star Have fun!

Where to begin. The positives: Pros-Its in Japan Mt. Fuji is so pretty Mos Burger was really good and had good service the coasters are really all very good the Haunted Hospital attraction was worth the uncharge If you get the Fast Pass/Skip the Line Pass, the park can be done without waiting for hours to ride a ride The park was clean The employees are friendly And...thats about it as far as positives. This park has a lot of potential. We got there very early to rush and get the skip the line passes so we could ride the 4 big roller coasters. And every one was worth it, but on top of the $70 to get in, it was an additional $40 per person to pay to get all of the coasters. I'd say that perhaps we're spoiled by the way most U.S. parks operate, but this was the only park in Japan where we had major issues with lines (and we went to 10 parks in 2 weeks). I don't know why the loading and dispatch of the major coasters are so slow. The rest of the rides didn't have that issue (except their new haunted house, and we didn't get to do it). I had a great time, but I can't give it a good review because it was so poorly ran. If you like roller coasters and don't want to wait in line, get there at opening, and RUN to the booth that sells skip passes by the carousel. You can have a really fun day there, but its going to cost you.

The park itself didn't seem busy, but looks we're slightly deceiving. Wait times were around 60-80 minutes for the big rides and staff didn't seem as efficient as they could have been. Probably didn't help that we went on a Wednesday. Otherwise, the park would have received 5 stars. Lots of fun!

This place is awesome. I usually hate roller coaster parks or any attraction that collects a bunch of children. I have been jaded by American parks where parents think that the entire park is their kids play pen and that manners are only meant for formal occasions. In Japan, the kids are well behaved and that made a huge difference for me. No running kids everywhere with no parents, instead it was nice order, decent (albeit a little over-priced) food, and great rides. I am not sure if their world's tallest coaster is still the tallest, but it is scary going up to that point so slowly. I am not sure if their other coaster, which is supposedly the world's fastest is still the fastest, but sitting in the front row, I had tears coming out of my eyes as I was thrown forward at a ridiculous speed. I am not sure if the 120 degree drop is the biggest drop anymore but I have never felt like I was going to fall out of my seat like that before. (I was completely safe, but still, you can't help but think it). The only one I did not get to try was the 4-D. This place also has a Ge Ge Ge no Kintaro store which is awesome and I definitely enjoyed my entire time here. Also, the kids in the Tommy the train gear from the Tommy the train land were adorable. They were also well behaved and listening to their parents. I know the next time I go to a park back in the USA, I will miss Fuji-Q.

This place is managed very poorly. Half of the rides were closed, and the lines were so long i could only ride THREE things, which means my expensive free pass was a waste of money. I should have bought individual ride tickets, which at 1,000 yen each aren't cheap either. The lines move slower than at any park I've ever seen. The staff wasted lots of time getting people on and off rides. Everyone has to put their belongings into lockers which slows the line to less than a crawl. I feel cheated by Fuji-Q. The rides are few, but cool, but you can't actually ride them. I just stood in the cold freezing for hours. I actually finished reading an entire novel in ONE line. No joke. Closing time is 5pm, which is too early, but that's a lie because the ride lines were closed by 4pm. Huge waste of money and time.
