富士吉田ユースホステル Fujiyoshida Youth Hostel

The best traditional hotel we've ever stayed in, perhaps the best hotel of any style! If you're lucky enough to book it, do it with your eyes closed. The very kind owner gives you a warm welcome upon arrival. You'll discover a typical Japanese room, equipped with everything you need, including very comfortable futons and clean, cozy sheets. We were lucky enough to have a double room (for a couple). The hotel is also beautifully designed in Japanese style. All the facilities are impeccable. It's quietly tucked away in an back-street for peace and quiet, and just a few minutes walk from a small town center and the train station. You'll be immersed in a typically Japanese atmosphere with a host who takes great care of you. Thank you again for this wonderful experience 😊

If you are considering booking on this hostel, please just go for it. Just to clarify, more than a hostel, this is a traditional Japanese guesthouse run by Mikiko (the owner/hostess) she is just super nice, she speaks good english and made us feel welcome and like at home as soon as we arrived. The room was super cosy, the tatamis were ridiculously comfortable , and although the shower and the toilet are shared with the rest, those were immaculate throughout our stay. Not to mention we got to see the Mount Fuji from our window in the room! The stairs can be a bit tricky to navigate so if you have limited mobility , this is something you should consider. Also theres a fridge you can store your food and free coffee and tea is offered. Deffo, on my two weeks trip to Japan this is the best place I have been. If I ever come back to Fujiyoshida , I will definitely book this place again. I definitely recommend this place :)

Thank you !! A very nice place to stay in, 20~ min away from Fuji station, but next to a closer one that leads you there, and to fujiQ highland station and to Fujikawaguchiko station. It's located in a perfect place to avoid crowds of tourists, and Fujiyoshida is a very pleasant city to travel in by foot, allowing you to get your morning breakfast at the local bakery shop in the adjacent street and go to the Chureito pagoda while visiting the neighbourhood ! Everything felt nice, and the building was very well kept, clean and steady. Machines were functionnal, the room with tatami mats on the floor is cozy, beds are soft. But the key argument on why you should go there is the owner. Thank you very much once again, grandma's the best ! She is willing to communicate in English, smiling every time, and as long as you keep quiet, you can get back there pretty late and go on your little adventure the next morning without a problem. Which is what we wanted, just perfect.

Very nice hostel, the nicest place we stayed (out of 4 places) during our holiday. The room is large and comfortable, beds made up on arrival, and it's very quiet at night - had a rare few good nights of sleep! The place is very clean and the shower was a special treat - very warm and powerful! - and lovely soft towels provided. The owner is lovely and attentive, speaks a good level of English, and even gave us a recommendation for where we could get cheap bike hire nearby. We were also allowed to leave our luggage in the lobby after checkout

Our stay at this guesthouse was so wonderful! The host is so welcoming and friendly. She was quick to show us everything we need around the house. There is coin laundry, a fridge, complimentary coffee and tea. Everything was very clean and the beds were very cozy and comfortable. We had such a good nights sleep in the quiet of the countryside. Definitely recommend!

The host is very welcoming, kind and attentive. This place is warm and Japanese style designed including the futon beds. We loved the decor and felt at home at once. Our room has a beautiful view of Mt Fuji and a full wall of windows which gives beautiful natural light. It is spacious enough and equipped with comfortable linen, a small dining table with sitting cushions, towel dryer, hair dryer, hangers, air-condition and humidifier. Having said that, we didn't need the last two as we opened the windows on the insect screen and lots of fresh air was coming in enough to sleep comfortably keeping in mind we are travelling in May. Every other thing is given attention and detail. Although shared, the toilet room and shower room are always immaculately clean. They are both equipped with everything you will need. Also there is a fridge with a freezer to share, and complimentary tea and coffee. This hostel is very clean and maintained, and we will be happy to visit again if we ever come to re-visit the area.
