Google
JPY 200 for entrance that we paid for there, but was very impressed with all the collections. I think we spent 3 hours here but could easily spend more. Lovely view of Ohori park. They have a gallery where you can scan QR codes to read or listen to a discussion about the piece, so bring earphones.

Great museum. Collection is interesting and manageable to get through in a couple of hours. Beautiful modernist building, I spent as much time admiring the architecture as I did the art. There are a couple of lovely restaurant/cafes on site. Definitely worth the visit

Visited the Fukuoka Art Museum during the 'Hello Kitty' exhibition. Was a great experience. The employees are friendly and helpful. You can easily spend two days here if you want to visit all exhibitions. There are smaller special exhibits as well.

Google
Very nice museum, cheap entry tickets with reductions for students, and a permanent exhibition with works from artists such as Dalí, Matisse, Warhol, Chagall as well as many other japanese artists. There’s a good mix or modern and older artworks, and also other exhibitions (when I visited there was a Hello Kitty one, and also a music themed one). The park the museum is in is also beautiful, definitely worth a visit!

It's has a very relaxing atmosphere. Seats are located around the art museum. Entrance only cost 200 yen. It's a small size art museum and can be done around one hour.

It's bigger than what I expected for the contemporary art, but Iike it. And for the price of the ticket, it's worth it !! It's part of the park so it is even more convenient and a good café/restaurant is near (5 min walk approximately)

One of the best art museums I have visited. Very high quality collection with a very reasonable amount on display. I also loved the section of local artists. Wonderful spot very worth the trip.

You can see some great artists in a really nice building for a very good price. Just a shame you can’t take photographs of most art pieces to keep as references. Would definitely recommend going though! The tea-making ceramics exhibition on at the moment is also very beautifully curated.

Yelp
This museum is gorgeous! For only ¥200, you can see multiple exhibits with some very famous works, as well as artists from all over Japan. They have Picasso, Kusama, Warhol, Dali, to name a few! The staff is very kind and helpful, even for those of us speaking English. It is also kid-friendly, with a space for little ones to take a break and lots of outside space (like with Kusama's giant pumpkin!). We loved seeing this place. Totally worth the trip.

Yelp
You can enter this museum for free and you can see some arts for even free but the famous arts require some entrance fee! We got to see free arts and twas satisfactory for us.

Yelp
This is a neat little museum full of both Japanese and Western art located within walking distance of the Tenjin district of Fukuoka. For the very very low cost of 200 yen (two coins, even lower than the Three Coins store, pun intended) visitors can treat themselves to a Pre-Modern art gallery on the first floor to a Modern and Contemporary art gallery on the second. There are interesting Buddhist statues, ceramics and a tea ceremony collection, as well as the shop and a cafe on the entry level. On the 2nd floor there are works by Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol and Joan Miro, along with a restaurant. Outside there are sculptures, including a yellow pumpkin by Yayoi KUSAMA, which attracted a lot of attention. While it's not the Louvre nor the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it's a small museum that has its charm. You could budget a couple of hours and be happy that you filled a part of your day enjoying some interesting and thought provoking artwork.

Yelp
Fukuoka deserve a nicer Art Museum ! I visited in June 2013 the Fukuoka Art Museum, on my personal opinion, I was overall disappointed. Honestly, I was expecting a bigger and more modern museum for the size of the city of Fukuoka. Did I visit too much nice museums WorldWide ? Anyway, the building itself looks from the '60/'70 style brown bricks, the collection was ok, few nice paintings, for me I felt I was visiting a museum from a city of 500 000 people. I think Fukuoka deserve a new building to host the Art Museum + more arts collections. Now, go visit and write back here your personal opinion after visiting.
