This shrine is one of the more spacious ones I’ve visited around the Fukuoka city area. It’s quiet, and only a handful of people were there when we visited on a weekday afternoon. You can choose from several goshuin designs for ¥500, and there’s an air-conditioned waiting area available. Visited in late September 2025.

A spacious area with large size of vacant land between the entrance and the shrine. It offers calmness to the visitors who will feel refreshed and peaceful after walking around.

Serene n beautiful temple in large sprawling grounds. Many nice statues n monuments. Huge Tori gates at the entrance leads to a wide field leading up to the main temple buildings. Before the gate lies the usual “cleaning area” where one should wash your hands before going into the temple grounds. There is also an adjacent area which had multiple Red Coloured Tori gates. Generally a quiet n contemplative atmosphere lends to the beauty of the temple grounds. Do donate a few coins at the Lions stone Statue n make a quiet personal wish. Excellent place for a quiet stroll in peaceful surroundings away from all the hustle n bustle of the city.

A small temple I went to when I visited the Onori park. Overall a nice stop.

This makes it an excellent destination for those looking for unique and one-of-a-kind items. Another benefit of the Fukuoka Flea Market is its lively atmosphere. The market is known for its vibrant energy, with vendors hawking their wares and bargaining with customers. This creates a lively and exciting environment that visitors can enjoy. Additionally, the market provides an opportunity to experience Japanese culture and traditions. Visitors can sample local cuisine, such as takoyaki and yakitori, and see traditional crafts being made by skilled artisans. This shrine is in the Ohri park in Fukuoka. It's a beautiful shrine which is famous for its picturesque scenery. The shrine itself is often being used as wedding shrine. To get the best impression of the shrine, you should walk on the street through the Tori gates. When you take that way you get the impressive frontal view first.

beautiful shrine, i went to Mitama Matsuri in August 2022, saw a lot of beautifully painted lantern, and there are many booths selling sundries and foods.

Nothing too exciting here if you’ve visited other Shrines. When we were there in mid-May there was a bit of a flea market happening in the path leading up to the shrine with owners selling hand made goods and trinkets. Worth a stroll through if you’re passing through
