A peaceful and well-kept garden in the middle of the city. The waterfalls and bridges make it feel like a small oasis. It’s not very big, but perfect for a short, relaxing walk and some quiet moments.

Probably one of my favorites places in Okinawa ! It does not look much from the outside but it is actually quite huge inside with lots of intertwined paths. The scenery is amazing, with great Chinese and Japanese architecture, sculptures and beautiful flowers, ponds and waterfall. It's quite inexpensive for the place and you can relax in a great environment for some time. It's so beautiful we saw a marriage photoshoot when we were there.

This beautiful garden is a hidden gem tucked away in the city of Naha. It offers a peaceful escape from the busy streets, with several distinct and unique areas to explore, each with its own atmosphere and charm. One of the highlights is visiting in the evening – the garden stays open after dark, and soft lighting throughout the park creates a magical and serene ambiance. It’s a completely different experience from the daytime visit. The entrance fee is very affordable, making it a great option for anyone looking to enjoy nature, beauty, and tranquility without leaving the city. Highly recommended.

Better than expected from the outside, this is a pretty elaborate garden with so much to explore. I loved the ‘hidden’ underground cave which places you behind the waterfall! The minimal entry fee is worth the reward.

It was a very beautiful Chinese garden with a lake, small pavilions and mountains. The location was quiet and not to crowded. You could buy koi food and feed the fish. It was very relaxing and a good spot to take nice pictures. Later on in the evening colorful light was turned on what gave the garden a nice romantic tone.

A nice cute little garden for you to visit for only 200 yen, there is not a ton of people who visit here so you don’t have to worry about crowds, though there was about 20 people there when I visited. The views are great and they even have a cave you can walk around in and get behind one of the manmade waterfalls! It was a cool experience to see an authentic Japanese Garden I would highly recommend.

We enjoyed Fukushuen so much we visited it twice: 1) once during the day during a typhoon, and then again the next day 2) at night to see a concert. It is definitely worth visiting during both the day and night. Please note the entrance ticket is 200円 before 6PM and 300円 after 6PM. At the entrance, you can pay for your ticket, get a map, and buy fish food (100円 per bag). You can probably walk around in 30min if you go quickly, but you will want to take your time. I think we spent about 1.5 hours each time. It is a Chinese-style garden built using techniques from Fuzhou. There are a wide variety of flowers, trees, caves, gazebos, towers, wooden verandas, ponds, fountains, and waterfalls. It is not a bad place to visit when it’s raining because there are many covered shelters and you can run from one to the next. It also looks beautiful in the rain. At night, there are illuminations all over the park. You can find interesting wildlife such as different kinds of geckos, frogs, snails, so many koi, and even Ryukyu fruit bats if you’re lucky. I’d recommend visiting their website to check for events. We came back because we saw they had a small concert (for no extra price on top of admission) of traditional Okinawan music by artist Idumi Higa. It was lovely! But I’d also recommend bugspray.

Beautiful Chinese garden in Naha. Loved all the statuary and koi. Climb the waterfall and go inside it. Don't miss a drink on the patio cafe. The cool drinks are perfect after a hot day.
