Fukuyama Castle Museum

Very nice experience. Though taking photos inside the museum is limited. I Suggest taking a friend with you as a lot to take pictures inside need someone very hard if alone

Beautiful castle that has very nice surrounding grounds. The gardens are worth a tour as well as the inside of the castle, which is very modern. I think most tourists visit the more popular castles in Himeji and Osaka but Fukuyama castle is definitely worth the visit. No crowds and very well kept. It’s in the same vicinity as Himeji and Osaka castles so visit all three!

The location is so convenient for travel, it is next to Fukuyama station, only few minutes walk. I went there during Christmas time, it has night light show. It is a bit cold but amazing. There are few museums around it. It is not much different from other castle in Japan.

The castles throughout Japan are architecture gems. The ones that are still standing are true survivors. They been reconstructed and preserved. This one I think is more grand than the Hiroshima Castle, even though Hiroshima Castle surround areas are more open. I did enjoy visiting this place and definitely a must visit if you are in the area.

Worth a visit if you are staying in Fukuyama, but not worth travelling for. Sadly, wasn't able to go inside on the day of visiting. Very pretty gardens let down by a bizarre display involving lots of inflatable eggs in the gardens.

Beautiful castle with a 4-floor museum a minute walk from Fukuyama Station. The 500 yen admission is worth the tour! At the very top you can get a skyline view of Fukuyama city. Other notes: - No photos in most areas - There’s an elevator that can take you down (the stairs are quite steep)

Reconstructed castle with a museum and cherry trees. The gardens and bath houses are well preserved. Right across the Fukuyama train station with plenty of rose plants. Well worth stopping and visiting if you’re taking the Shinkansen to Hiroshima from Tokyo.

Likely 3 stars and less for general eyes. But definitely 4 stars to castle lovers like myself. Although main tower isn't authentic(original one was burnt down by air raid during WWII), the exterior was restored precisely loyal to its original. Inside of it is like museum(at least the 1st floor). But I didn't go up. I just peeked 1st floor and got out. I'm more interested in looking at it from outside than from inside. Beside this, there are also a few other turrets standing in this compounds, which is quite rare. All these stonewalls are quite massive and significant. Only disappointment was that there weren't that much of the moat left. Only east side of it. I guess you can't win the fight against urban development. Anyways, I got a lot of picture taken for my collections and they were great additions. If you happen to be near, it's worth traveling here to check it out. Admission to the tower is ¥200.
