"Fulcrum was founded in 2006 as a Pinot-centric winery and has grown continually since then by using natural methods to craft Pinot Noirs from some of California’s most prestigious vineyards such as Gap’s Crown, Brosseau, Ferrington, Wildcat Mountain and Walala. The tasting room highlights all of the wines from Fulcrum in a modern, elegant space that is both intimate and comfortable."

A group of us went here last week while on our road trip from Vancouver, and we had the best time. Brianna absolutely made us feel at home and had so much knowledge, which elevated the experience. If you find yourself in Sonoma, please go here to try some great wine and have great conversation!

Sabrina Ponce

Google
Had an incredible experience at the fulcrum and some amazing wine! Brianna was amazing, not only did she make us feel at home but she was so knowledgeable on the wines and gave eloquent descriptions on all of them.

Becky Creighton

Google
Unexpected tasting, walked in, no appointment needed! Very good Chardonnay, not a big oaky, butter bomb. Pinots are very well balanced as well. Definitely with the stop. Anne in the tasting room was very knowledgeable and does an amazing job juggling multiple guests.

Gladwin Mendez

Google
Great wines, friendly team and a good range too. Nice central location, close to great eateries. Was surprised at the price of the wines however as they were higher than expected. Still was great to taste and contrast the wines they make.

Erik Allen

Google
Really excellent wine and a great tasting experience. Being able to sample so many wineries in a short walking distance around the plaza it one of the things that makes Sonoma great.

Anna

Google
Mary was a gem! The tasting was pleasant. We enjoyed the madman and petite! Kudos to David the winemaker on creating wines with a creative mind as it isn't lost on our pallet! Don't pass up this little gem in the heart of Sonoma!

Google
We absolutely love going to Fulcrum wines, the wine particularly the Pinots are phenomenal. We’ve loved the service from Mary we’ve gotten when we go during the week and from the older gentleman on the weekend. The service is great and the wine is so tasty. It’s located so conveniently on the Sonoma square and is open late which is perfect. I can’t wait to stop in to Fulcrum again! Our family joined the wine club and have enjoyed our membership. Thank you Mary for taking this pic!

Google
we found this great tasting room after a slightly disappointing lunch nearby - Paul immediately changed my mood - I thought the wines were really nice, especially their new foray into sparkling rose - we ended up spending a completely relaxing afternoon there

Yelp
As a a newbie to the wine game I am always seeking new experiences, and stumbling upon this gem was a stroke of luck! Robert is an expert! His charm and passion for fine wine was a fabulous addition to our tasting experience! He started off our tasting with a brief overview of the winery and its history. As we began our tasting and were guided through each wine, Robert taught us about its history, key notes, and even had jars of the different terrain each wine was grown in! Overall, Fulcrum was fantastic! Our wine tasting experience felt exclusive and tailored. The whole experience allowed us to delve deeper into the world of wine! Thank you Robert!!

Yelp
My group of 6 found Fulcrum Tasting Room to be a haven of peace and comfort on a hot day when the town plaza was overrun with...Runners! The attentive service and excellent wines met all our expectations. We gladly purchased some bottles to take home. Great experience, thanks!!!

Neels H.

Yelp
Great location off the plaza, yummy Pinot and nice team of staff to share about the vineyards.

Melissa V.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and wonderful wines! A cute intimate spot for wine tasting. Our host was very knowledgeable and personable. We can't wait to visit again.

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Don Jeffries is the Alton Brown of wine. I had such a great time learning about wine and the growing regions from him! It made me a proud local California resident for sure! He gave us a super warm welcome and left us with a great lasting impression. He even recommended wines to try at the next tasting we had lined up for the day. My partner had a great experience with Emma over the phone prior to our visit. She even recommended some other tasting spots when the reservation we wanted wasn't available. Of course, we still had to pay Fulcrum Wines a visit and try to get in, which we did! We were able to squeeze in our tasting earlier in the day as a walk-in. Ambiance is serene. Sat outside and had a great tasting experience with my partner. Every glass came with a great back story. If you don't like Pinot Noir you will love it when you leave here. Definitely worth a visit!

Brian M.

Yelp
A wonderful little winery where the staff is very knowledgeable of not only their wine, but wine in general. Our tasting was accompanied by great in-depth information of their exceptional wine. They specialize in Pinot Noir wines and that is very obvious at first sip. But we found the others, the Chardonnay, bold reds, and the whites equally satisfying. The room is simple, but relaxing. We joined as club members and are looking forward to receiving our selections.

Helen B.

Yelp
Fulcrum is a super place to spend some time tasting great wine while being educated about the wines being served. Pauli is delightful and very knowledgeable. The wines were excellent, as was the setting. I am local and will definitely bring guests here. Thank you!!!

Sarah E.

Yelp
Pauly was our host and was fantastic. Explained all about the wine, in detail. Helped us find wines we really enjoyed and truly made us feel welcome! We happened to be the only ones in the taste room for a bit and my boyfriend and I felt like we were family. Honestly I'd go back to taste all of those Pinot noirs again. I typically dislike Pinot noirs because they are too fake grape tasting. (Prob cause I was only trying cheaper Pinot noirs) but Pauly was able to help me find a Pinot noir that I actually enjoyed and purchased. Can't wait to go back!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Don was the best!! We walked into this winery off the sidewalk and it was our best experience in Sonoma! Truly could not ask for a better wine experience. The Pinots are incredible, the Chardonnay was the best I've ever had, and I almost robbed the store for the rosé. Thank you Don!!!

K B.

Yelp
The afternoon service was excellent. Wines were great! Overall loved the vibe! Our host was so friendly!

N M.

Yelp
The host was amazing and inviting. He made our visit very welcoming and fun. The wines were also amazing, I enjoyed all the pastries no noirs. Definitely recommend

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Paul is awesome! Super fun! Very knowledgeable and great at show and tell! The wine is great!

Bertha O.

Yelp
We did a wine tasting here and it was wonderful experience!! This was one our first stops for wine tasting and the wine tasting amazing. The man that did our wine tasting was very knowledgeable about all the wines. I really enjoyed that we had a choice between red or white. High recommend this place!!

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
We had a very enjoyable afternoon wine tasting at Fulcrum Wines. The wines were amazing and such a beautiful tasting room. Thank you.

Anel M.

Yelp
If I could put 10 stars then I would. We are originally from San Diego and we were looking for a place to try some good wine and have a good time and we found just that here! Paulie was an amazing person to talk to. He took the time to teach us a little bit about how their wine is made. Overall it was such an enjoyable experience. We only took 4 bottles of wine and we wish we could've taken more! Thank you so much Paulie for everything!

L Z.

Yelp
Fulcrum Wines was our first tasting experience in Sonoma and it couldn't have been more pleasant! Paul walked us thru the winemaking process and gave us a detailed information on each of the wines we tasted. He was fun to chat with and didn't rush or pressure us at all. We ended up buying 2 delicious bottles of the Viognier - which meant our tasting was free! Definitely recommend!

Kevin R.

Yelp
A very Good Experience at a quite place featuring mostly Pinot Noirs which were very unique. We had five different pinots and the server Pauly enhanced the whole experience with great conversations about the wines as well the vineyards in California. This is a must experience that i would highly recommend for anyone would like casual yet very good wine tasting experience

Iny J.

Yelp
We went to a variety of tasting rooms during our weekend in the Sonoma/Napa area. Fulcrum was, by far, our favorite. The wine was excellent and Emma (our tasting guide) was both knowledgeable and friendly. If you are considering Sonoma tasting rooms - look no further!

Jen T.

Yelp
Fabulous little tasting room with an amazing selection of Pinots - great staff too! We tried all the 5 Pinots and honestly, I am a "Pinot snob"... all 5 were awesome!!

Carmelina S.

Yelp
Loved all of the wines but the Wildcat was amazing! It is a beautiful space and a great learning experience! We will definitely be back!

Tom S.

Yelp
Opened June 2016. But have been producing wines for 10 years. Two wine lists. Regular & library collection. I liked the rose', Chardonnay & the 1st three single vineyard pinto noirs. Prices are mid $20 to $60. I rarely join wine clubs. I was so impressed by the high quality that I did sign-up here. Recommended.

Melissa T.

Yelp
Just off the square this little tasting room offered a really intimate experience. Emma was so friendly!

David K.

Yelp
We had an amazing time!! Wine was great and Don was fantastic! Highly recommend stopping in to visit them. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Sonoma!

Vinati K.

Yelp
Cute tasting room conveniently located in the plaza. They specialize in Pinot Noir, which we didn't originally realize. Neither of us are really big Pinot fans, but that's ok. It was a good place to stop by and overall our experience was fine. Three stars only because we tried a lot of other places in Sonoma that we liked better.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Great to find a variety of wines unique to the area with a wonderful explication. They accommodated my group of 6 with no hesitation.

Aikaeli K.

Yelp
I had such a great experience at this lovely wine tasting room. David was such a joy and provided so much valuable information around how they make their wine and how best to detect different flavors. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you are in Sonoma for the weekend! 10 out of 10!

Cody O.

Yelp
The wines are delicious and really delicate. You are missing out if you skip this winery

Mike N.

Yelp
A very special find, off the square in Sonoma, nestled in an outdoor mall. Great selection of pinot noir. Some of the best pinot noir that I have tasted. Sauvignon blanc and rose are good as well. Small tasting room with very attentive staff. Great place to chill and taste some excellent wine in Sonoma.

Harrison J.

Yelp
Today was my first time doing a wine tasting in years. Started in Healdsburg and ended in Sonoma. The most memorable and delicious experience was Fulcrum Wines. We had to leave with almost one of every bottle. Paulie was educational, welcoming and so funny. I would recommend this experience to anyone. Complete with the soil discovery lesson :)

Maria U.

Yelp
Amazing staff, INCREDIBLE WINE & paulie is amazing, he has made OUR DAY in Sonoma!!! Seriously a must try and a great environment!!

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Love this place! Fulcrum makes some of Sonoma County's best pinot noir. Their sauvignon blanc and rose are also amazing. I love visiting the tasting room, which is nestled into wine alley. Their staff are all really knowledgeable about all the different wines and wine making in general and when you do a tasting the pours are generous. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Sonoma.

P H.

Yelp
I had a glass of their rose, which was okay. Their service was poor. The woman couldn't stop trying to sell us bottles while having an attitude and rushed us to pay and leave because she was trying to close. Overall do not recommend.

Alex B.

Yelp
We stumbled across fulcrum because of the cool vibe and decor and Paulie was nice enough to let us in even though closing was in the next half hour. He recommended an AWESOME red blend that was 10/10 for us wine drinkers and was welcoming, friendly, and made our experience what it was. This is a must try when you are in the area, and ask for Paulie, his recs, and his great customer service. We will definitely be back.

Taylor R.

Yelp
Excellent Pinot Noir! Brought a bottle to a dinner party and it was loved by all.

Kelsey B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were up in Sonoma for their international film festival. We came to this tasting room one afternoon due to its good reviews here. My boyfriend assists in beverage buying for the Hillstone Restaurant group (they own Rutherford Grille, Houston's, and many more totaling in 47 locations across 12 states). He told the woman pouring the wine of his job and politely her if they comp tastings for people in the industry. She looked at him skeptically and asked, "Do you have a card?" As we were there for the festival, he was not carrying a card. I would have understood if she'd said, "No I'm sorry I'm not allowed to waive tasting fees unless you have a card." But instead, she kept going back and forth about whether or not she could do it. It was clear that she could have if she wanted to, but was not going to because she thought he was lying. Not a huge deal by itself, I let it go. We decided to share a tasting. We sat at one of the tables off to the side. Overall, wine was meh. The best one was definitely the Gap's Crown Pinot Noir. The chardonnay and rose were warm when she poured them. She lost count of how many wines we'd tasted and again gave us the impression she thought we were trying to pull some funny business when we told her we had one left. We walked up to the counter to pay and she ignored us for a good 10-15 minutes as she attended to the other party at the counter. We finally were able to pay for our tasting and left a tip mostly just to be classy. Overall, just an unpleasant experience. We're used to being treated very graciously, but all combined we felt unwelcome. Would not recommend

Brad A.

Yelp
Stopped in on a recommendation from our B&B. Best wines we've had so far, but the young lady treated us like second class citizens when we disclosed we had a complimentary tasting. Not to be obtuse, but disclose that. Anyway, some of the best wine we've had on our visit so far was here (Chardonnay, Rose and Pinot) but I'm put off by the initial treatment because what the hell. Anyway, 4.5 stars for wine and 2.0 for making me feel like a bit of a dick.

Brynn B.

Yelp
This was our first wine tasting in Sonoma and it was a great one. Paul was a lovely host. He guided us through the details of hands on small batch wine making while we enjoyed the delicious and interesting offerings from Fulcrum. We left with a great memory and a couple bottles that we will certainly enjoy.

Barbara S.

Yelp
Yummy Yummy Pinot Noir and a lovely tasting room. Their tasting room was pretty new when we visited. The gal pouring for us was so friendly and forthcoming with information on Fulcrum Wines. I thought this was incredible Pinot Noir for the price so I had to join the wine club. Can't wait to go back!

Slinky ..

Yelp
I guess maybe the guy in the tasting room just wasn't interested in entertaining any new guests or selling any wine - we stopped in around 5:30pm and were not greeted and were mostly ignored - there were two other couples sitting at tables finishing up - we let the guy know that we had a complimentary tasting passport and he made a point of telling us that they partner with the passport because they hope that if we like the wine we will spend some money and buy bottles. It was a little forward, but yes we already knew that - besides we are not adverse to spending money on wine we like - just because we are taking advantage of complimentary tastings doesn't mean we aren't going to buy. He pours us our first splash and then walks away and continues talking to the other folks who he's already made sales with. We make some notes and wait and wait and wait - and wait - he finally comes back to the counter - he gets some info for another customer, and leaves again - and we wait some more. He then returns and pours us another joyless round and vanishes again. We taste the second splash and make notes and then Wait and wait and wait - It's at this point that I first suggest to my that sister that we abandon this tasting - he walks back and forth ignoring us - we are now 1 of 2 groups in the room. Eventually he comes back and pours a 3rd splash and then evaporates once more. We taste the 3rd splash and make notes and then wait - you see where this is going. After a patient amount of time we go ahead and throw in the towel - he clearly does not want to serve us - it's been made abundantly clear. He doesn't even express any surprise when we gather our purses and say "thank you" as we leave the room with 2 tastings still left to go. BTW - we spent over $1000 on wine today - all with folks who made us feel welcome

Burch O.

Yelp
A True gem on the Sonoma Plaza. Not only are there Pinots spectacular, our host Mary was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. A great collection of wines, and easily our best experience we've had wine tasting.

Eric G.

Yelp
Don is a wealth of knowledge , who spent a lot of time explaining the wines and is very considerate and helpful. We bought a couple wines and will come back for more.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Very informative, relaxing, and enjoyable experience! We did the yelp deal for four people, and would highly recommend! You have to stop by! Enhanced our Sonoma experience!

Georgina H.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great wine tasting of Reds this afternoon. Anne was wonderful telling us about the reds which we love. I loved the art work too!

Debra L.

Yelp
Living in wine country affords me the opportunity to taste often and extensively throughout several appellations. I recently discovered Fulcrum and was thrilled to sample wines (particularly the Pinot) that genuinely reflected their soils and climates. Clearly showcases the winemaker's talent and passion. My host was knowledgeable about the wines; sincere and warm in her hospitality. I joined the wine club and purchased two cases of the sauvignon blanc for my upcoming wedding! Great little hidden gem down one of the many interesting alleys in Sonoma.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp, and I am so happy that we dropped in for a tasting. This winery is heavy in Pinots. All of them were great and easy drinkers. We had a hard time choosing just one to bring home with us. They also served a Gewurztraminer that was outstanding. Perfect for the very hot Labor Day weekend. Great quality wine and customer service. This place is hidden gem!

Sarah D.

Yelp
Don Jeffries' was so knowledgeable about the Pinots and we learned so much. Loved the dirt sample "props"!

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Rob is the most knowledgeable kind patient person. Best Pinot noirs in Sonoma! Come visit them for a wonderful Sonoma experience!!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Phenomenal service and delicious wines. The On Point pinot noir, chardonnay, and petite sirah were just a few of our favorites. The tasting room is cozy and beautifully decorated. We felt right at home. Our host, Robert, was a delight as well! We highly recommend Fulcrum and will definitely be back next time!

Js W.

Yelp
I was walking around looking for a wine bar when I stumbled onto Fulcrum tasting room. We opted for tasting their flight of Pinots and their Petite Syrah. Generally, I find wineries in Sonoma to be pretty hot or miss, with maybe 1/3 or 1/4 having quality wines. This place was definitely a hit, with balanced, easy drinking pinots with some depth and a Petite Syrah that had a just the right amount of boldness. Ended up buying two bottles.
