I was able to use my student discount to visit the Stadtschloss Fulda, and to be fair, the ticket prices weren't that high. However, navigating the palace was quite challenging as there was no clear guidance, and we ended up getting lost on the upper floors. When we asked about leaving our coats, we were only directed to lockers that required coins.
The map we were given at the entrance was very confusing, and since the reception staff only spoke German, we got lost multiple times and didn't even realize we hadn't seen the main part of the palace! We only stumbled upon the main museum area by chance when we opened a random door.
On the positive side, the palace was very quiet and not crowded at all, which allowed us to wander around and spend as much time as we wanted.
The Stadtschloss itself is a Baroque palace built in the early 18th century as the residence for the Prince-Abbots and later Prince-Bishops of Fulda. It has a rich history, evolving from an earlier abbot's castle.
