Fun Beach Hotel

Very beautiful and calm hotel located on the splendid beach of Zanzibar. Very friendly staff, nice and very clean cottages, not less that 3 immense swimming pools. We found the breakfast a little average and a little too much the same during our 5 days stay.

Fun beach is an amazing place , the ambiance amazing, the staff is amazing and the food is really nice .I would highly recommend it to anyone . 9/10

The amenities of the hotel are amazing and the breakfast is really nice. Special mention to chef Josh who has been very caring 🤩 The rooms are nice but lack design, decoration and the “soap/shampoo” should definitely be changed. Please do note that there is no fridge in the room. A special plus for the shower available in the main area - very convenient when you have a checkout to do and continue to enjoy the facilities before taking a plane. Lastly, the restaurant was very disappointing in terms of variety, freshness and quality. Overall the staff was very nice and attentive to our needs/feedbacks 🙏🏻

Had a wonderful time after a Safari week to rest. The location is really nice, close to the beach and have a swimming pool just in front of your room is such an amazing thing! The only bad review is about the Wifi, which is much too unstable in rooms. Even saying about it on our first night (we did stay 3 nights), management did not really help and only sidestep the issue. In 2025, it is a minimum for travel foreigners. Food quality was okay but I did really appreciate the Bar/ Restaurant's friendly service. Hassan, Ismael, Rahel, Yatu (I hope I did write it correctly), Zamabu and Revina were incredible in their job. And how can I forget of course about Jane, Alyrice, Eliya and Rose! So sweet behaviour! Special dedication to the Housekeeping staff, and at the reception, Madam Margaret and Suzanne, who will become, I am sure, an excellent high hotel manager in the future. This is an honest review from someone who has stayed at Fun Beach Hotel on four separate trips, spending thousands of dollars over time - all after the hotel was rebuilt and taken over by new management. Unfortunately, the standard has consistently declined with each visit. The communication is unacceptable. Reaching the hotel feels like chasing an uninterested party. Messages go unanswered, response times are extremely slow, and there is little to no professionalism or courtesy. For returning guests, this is especially disappointing. Loyalty clearly means nothing here, despite the high expectations the hotel initially set. The facilities and overall service do not justify the price. What is offered is basic at best, yet priced as if it were a premium experience. The atmosphere feels increasingly transactional. Staff are often more focused on extracting tips than on delivering genuine hospitality or customer satisfaction. This creates an uncomfortable environment where service feels conditional rather than professional. Overall, this property is surviving on reputation rather than performance. Without serious improvements in communication, service standards, and guest experience, it is difficult to justify returning or recommending this hotel again as I have in the past.

One word: amazing! Highly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very clean and look amazing. The pool is the highlight of the hotel. And if you like to swim in the sea, this is just a few meters away.

I hate to give bad reviews, but I recently stayed at this hotel earlier on in the year for a trip with my family. Initially, when coming in the higher up staff greets you and takes you to your room, in a very friendly and respectful manner giving you an initial positive experience. However the general staff around the establishment where a let down to say the least. They were very dismissive and to be blunt, it felt like you had to beg them to do something which is apart of what you are paying for. Food times are very long, despite when the dining area is quite empty. The staff we rude some of the times, and in the room there is no phone to place orders, meaning you must walk to the kitchen/reception for all needs. On a postie note the rooms were quite large. Will not be staying here again sadly.

Fun Beach Hotel was a lovely place to stay. Rooms and communal areas in the hotel were all fantastic. Games room was very cool! Food and drinks were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. Most staff were friendly and welcoming. Other staff were disinterested and 'cold'. This made us feel uncomfortable at times, especially when there was a couple of mix ups with our bills. ||Be aware of the location as most of our experiences were at the other side of the island and it was about 1hr 15min drive to get there each day. ||I would recommend this hotel to others for the facilities and food.
