Nerja caves are quite something and we would definitely recommend a visit; very beautiful, extensive and one of the largest cave sites in the world open to the public.
On a practical level, parking was easy and inexpensive, there is a largish cafe available, queues to get in were quick, even though the place was quite busy in general, and the concrete paths and stairways constructed back in the 1960s make navigating the caves themselves straightforward. The temperature, while lower than outside, is hot and humid - we wore trousers but would probably have been better off in shorts. Trainers are perhaps preferable to sandals, but not a necessity.
