Fundy Highlands Motel & Chalets

If you are looking for a place to stay in Fundy, and want to ditch the pricey hotels, I would definitely recommend staying at Fundy Highlands Motel & Chalet! First and foremost, I’d like to thank Anne-Marie who made the whole process of booking a stay with Fundy Highlands so much easier. Planning a trip to Fundy with my family was not an easy endeavour, and I called her maybe 6-7 times asking for further clarifications about room space, costs, accessibility and not once did Anne-Marie seem to mind. She was so understanding of the situation and always provided clarification on anything I had questions about. She made the very stressful process of planning this vacation a little bit easier for me and I’ll always be grateful to have been welcomed with such great customer service. Our stay at Fundy itself was nothing short of the perfect cabin stay experience! For a group of seven we ended up booking three bed sitting chalets and it was exactly what we were hoping for. There were two full double/queen beds, a small kitchen and a small bathroom. There were also a couple of sofa chairs, table and a clothes drying rack provided. The room itself was clean, cozy chic and very comfortable. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when booking a bed sitting chalet: - On their website they have a maximum capacity of three adults for this room and that is pretty accurate. You can comfortably fit three adults, or 2 adults and 2 children, with a $7 additional guest fee. - There is a 2 nights minimum stay policy in effect for the bed sitting chalets, which means if you are just looking for a place to stay for one night, this specific type of chalet is not going to be an available option for you. - The kitchen is pretty small. If you are looking for an apartment studio style bigger kitchen to cook every meal every day, then the bed sitting chalet probably isn’t for you. My family was able to comfortably make some toast, coffee, and curry while we were there, but there definitely isn’t space for a full blown set up. The kitchen itself is equipped with all the essentials including a mini fridge, a microwave, a cooking stove, dish soap, paper towels, a toaster, pots and pans, cups etc. - The bathroom is also pretty small. There isn’t much space to comfortably fit in there so I found myself being very careful and cautious as to where I turned and how so as not to hit anything. Definitely accidentally bruised my elbow a couple times so just keep that in mind if you plan on booking and require a lot of space. Also to keep in mind, the toilet itself sits pretty low. It’s up to you how important that is to you, but my family didn’t mind as much. Multiple towels are also provided so that shouldn’t be an issue. The shower itself is nothing special, just your standard standing shower. The shower curtain can be a bit fickle to deal with, but once you get the hang of it, it’s fine. - In general, there are also a lot of rules and policies to comply with and keep in mind. There are policies regarding pets, fireworks, propane tanks, noise past 10 pm, and cancellations. These weren’t an issue for my family as we were simply staying there only at nights, but it would be important to take a look at them on their website if you plan on spending more time on-site. All in all, I can confidently say I’d definitely return to Fundy Highlands Motel & Chalets. Our trip was initially supposed to have eleven people instead of the seven we ended up with, and so I booked with 11 people in mind and paid the extra $7 per person, per night. When I got home and got my invoice I realized I completely forgot to tell the motel management that the extra people didn’t actually end up coming. I messaged Anne-Marie and explained the situation and she was so kind to refund us that extra cost without any additional questions or explanations. Our stay at Fundy Highlands Motel & Chalets was nothing short of incredible and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Fundy! Definitely worth the price and there is so much to see and do, even on-site.

We loved this place. We rented 2 cottages for our family and everyone thought they were great. Old fashioned in a very nice way…pine wood inside which was the right thing for a visit to this National Park. The beds were comfortable and there were also a small dining table, bedside table and chairs. Each cottage had a small but well stocked kitchen with a microwave, stove, refrigerator, and sink. The bathroom was just the right size. And talk about clean! These cottages were immaculate and tidy. There is a front porch with a table for outdoor dining. ||One of the nicest parts was how delightful Anne-Marie and her husband are. They bent over backwards to make our trip perfect. We can’t wait to go back.

Amazing view from room 18! The kitchenette was well equipped with a stove, small fridge, microwave, and sink. My only complaint would be that the shower was very small. I read before going about the iron rich water, but I honestly couldn't tell. Looked and tasted normal.

Stayed in the motel October 8-15 on the upper floor. Anne-Marie and Pierre are wonderful hosts. They go above and beyond to accommodate any request. They even helped carry my luggage upstairs !! Simple but very clean rooms with everything you need to be comfortable and the rates are very reasonable. Website is very informative with accurate photos of the rooms. Centrally located, just a 5 minute drive to the town of Alma ( great restaurants ) and about 40 minutes to Hopewell Rocks and 20 minutes on the way to Hopewell Rocks stop in at Cape Enrage. Very peaceful and the views are spectacular. Check out this motel before you book anywhere else !

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful place. It's definitely my favorite getaway! I will have completed 4 trips this year alone by end of season. The motel rooms and Chalets are ultra clean, well stocked and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and being in the nature park, hiking the trails are a must and so easy to do. Anne Marie and Pierre are very accommodating and so nice! Definitely my happy place!!

We had to make a last minute alteration to our east coast trip and were fortunate to find Fundy Highlands Chalets had a cabin available, and boy were we glad we ended up changing our itinerary! The chalets themselves are fully functional including comfy beds, television and a full kitchen. While a little outdated, they include everything needed for your time away. Best of all, a number are dog friendly so you can bring your furry friend too! The real icing on the cake is location - the views of the bay from the property are phenomenal, especially from the cabins further up the hill, and while we unfortunately had a fair bit of cloud / fog during our stay, as lights out is around 10pm there's an amazing opportunity for dark sky gazing here! The proximity to Alma and Fundy NP itself is also a major plus. We were able to see all the major sights during our stay, and it's only a short drive to other highlights (Fundy Trailway, Hopewell rocks, Cape Enrage). It was easy to find places to park and eat in Alma each evening, despite the short drive. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when visiting Fundy.

We had a great stay, chalets are perfect, dog friendly, staff was great from top to bottom, don't expect the Hilton but for what you pay you get more than what you need.
