The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I felt so safe (solo traveling) and it’s not too far from town, with a grocery store right across the street. A nice layout that allows lots of socializing but it’s also easy to get privacy if you want it. Beautiful yard, very homey space with lots of art and plants. Incredible atmosphere and kind people. Very well kept kitchen and I spent a lot of time reading in the sun room. I wish I could stay here longer.

Cleanest & friendliest hostel I've ever been to. I felt completely comfortable as a woman in a mixed room. Everyone else I met was quiet and respectful so I can't vouch for how management deals with issues, but judging by the state of the place they don't let problems linger. Definitely worth the brief walk to the touristy areas for the quiet neighborhood. I'm a light sleeper and I slept completely through 1 of my nights and only woke up once on the other. Highly recommend this place if you're after a quiet bed for the night.

Nice place with a great kitchen. The best we've seen in any hostel so far but our room had a very old smell to it. The room itself was fine. Spacious enough for our 2 big backpacks but the smell was unfortunate. Not terrible by any means, but would have been a much more pleasant experience without it.

Super friendly staff in a very comfortable hostel! It's really cold in the winter, but they keep a fire going in the living/dining room area and everyone gathers in there to keep warm - which helps create a nice community atmosphere. The kitchen is very clean and a good size. Would definitely stay here again!

Super nice hostel - very clean, comfy and homely. Supermarket in a walkable distance. Great family owns it! Super friendly and energized, recommended few great spots in Rotorua and activities - which we really liked. Owners like to travel and they organized everything very comfortable in their hostel. Highly recommended.

First of all, it probably is the cleanest hostel you will encounter all over New Zealand. I really hope it stays like this. The kitchen is modern and well equiped. Same goes for the washing room, washing by the way, is affordable here! The living/ dining room is very cosy, I like the big table in the dining room where you can meet others while eating. Couches and Beds are very comfortable. Especially Germans might fancy the proper, German styled, bed linen. What makes this hostel special, is the bright inside, the nice decoration everywhere and that you have to take of shoes, which makes it a more like home. The whole hostel consists of four parts that surround a lawn area in the middle, with tables and BBQ, inviting to sit and eat at in summer. I have read some negative reviews about the staff, which I can absolutely not confirm. I personally got along very well with the two receptionists (James and Carolina). Both of them are very friendly and know what they do. Same is true for the owners. Since I stayed for longer, I was able to get to know them a little better. They are very friendly and kind to travellers. Both helped me while I had problems with one of my employers or when I had health problems.

Very nice hostel. It's like almost a resort apart from the smell in Rotorua 😜 The atmosphere is like staying at friends house. Clean, friendly owner and very helpful. Free tea and spices. I stayed in a 4 bed. The beds are very comfortable no bed shaking and the mattress are good as, rooms are clean and each bed has his own light. Very close to countdown and city. I recommend the hostel and I would definitely come again.

What a super friendly hostel! Rocked up here unannounced in a bit of a bind and they went the extra mile to help us out. Was only going to stay one night but stayed four, it's so cosy and welcoming. An old school kiwi hostel with charm and character, not like the sterile hostels that now prevail. Centrally located, good shared kitchen and great fireplace in the comfy lounge.
