Daniel and the team are wonderful. It was our first time at Fur Side. What a find! They opened promptly at 8am (even held the door for us). The groom they gave our 12 year old pup was exactly as requested. Daniel is personable and professional. The business runs incredibly smooth. We definitely found our new go-to groomers!

Just moved to the area and took my two cavapoos for the first time. Staff was so friendly and understanding with us- we were a bit unorganized. They did a great job with my boys, we will be going here from now on for their grooming, so glad we found our new spot for them!

I am new to the area, and found Furside online. I like that it isn't one of those chain style places. Daniel was great, Sebastian looked amazing and he was done within the promised timeframe. I will definitely be going back. In fact, I already have my appointment scheduled.

I've been taking my dog to FPG for about a year after struggling to find a groomer for my Lagotto Romagnolo who is very skittish. Daniel gives Zola a LR cut and she doesn't end up looking like a poodle (very different). Moreover, he is gentle and kind with her and makes her grooming experience less frightening. I highly recommend this place!!

We take our two dogs to Furside every time they need grooming, and we love it there! The staff is always super nice and great with our pups. They really care about the dogs, and we feel good knowing our dogs are in good hands. Definitely recommend Furside for grooming!

I took my cat here for the first time and I had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff and We were out of there in just under 30 minutes! I will be back!

I took our Shitzu to Fireside in Decatur. We had never taking him to a groomer and was almost 2 years old. We thought we could keep up but it was not possible since we are not groomers. I'm happy to say he came back looking beautiful and excellent job on removing all mats and giving him back the dog we got two years ago! I cannot say enough to compliment their fine work and he is scheduled for 2 month groomings. The folks deserve a good tip!

Daniel and his staff are *amazing*. I had a snappy, scaredy, lovey Great Pyrenees who was scared to be left places, and she loved Daniel. No matter how she decorated her own fur, Daniel and his staff got her clean, fluffy, and beautiful -- and sometimes that took *serious* effort. It was clear that they didn't just wash, blow out, and trim; they combed her and got out all the loose fur. They are light handed with the scissors, which I appreciate. Sometimes my girl had hot spots, and Daniel not only used a special shampoo on her that helped mitigate those, but he did a great job trimming her to look as good as he could. Their parking can be a little challenging, but, seriously, if you don't like walking with your dog, what are you doing with a dog? (Leaving aside handicapable dogs and/or humans, of course!). There is a reason Fur Side is booked solid -- it is the best place I have ever been for dog grooming and care.

Do not use this place. They do not know what they are doing. They SHAVED ALL THE HAIR OFF my Granddog to the point we did not recognize him. They did not call or ask for advice if there were any issues. They just don't know the traditional cuts based on breed. Also after taking him to the vet because his ears and paws were irritated, the vet indicated that the clippers scarred his skin underneath the remaining fur. Now the scabs are irritating our fur baby. I repeat DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. If I could rate them ZERO stars I would.

I was so happy when furside reopened (closed due to COVID-19). They always take care of my babies and this time was very quick despite having a lot of dogs to take care of. Caine (the white husky) is a lot of work to groom but furside is one of two places I trust to properly groom him, meaning they comb out his undercoat and only trim what's necessary. I can tell my dogs feel better when they arrive home after their groom and they look 100% better as well!

Hate to go against the flow of wonderful comments about this business but I have to tell what happened to me and my dog. Two weeks later and I am still angry about this. Picked up Snickers and after I got home noticed he was bleeding on forehead. See photo. Reached out to Owner Monday, thru an intermediary, and was told "you're welcome to give him a call tomorrow (as he is closed on Mondays). He said that Snickers had a mole that was oozing "goo" (like a volcano) and that older dogs that have moles bleed." He went on to say Snickers "was still greasy after the bath." Hold on a second; the Customer should call the shop and not the Owner pursuing the wounded customer? Is this Customer Relations or Retailer Relations? And he's greasy after a bath they gave him? Hmm, who's responsible for that? And lastly, the haircut was choppy and amateurish. Sorry, not going back.

Had a great experience getting my dogs nails trimmed today. In and out in less than 5 minutes and you can't beat the price! I will definitely be back to try their other services as well!

I have been looking for a new Groomer for my Dog Moses for months!! Well thanks to my neighbors Russ & Don I finally found one!! Took Moses today to Furside Pet Spa today and it was the absolute best experience! Daniel greeted me this morning, called me to pickup when he said he would, actually a bit earlier and gave me some great advice for my Moses' skin condition!! He was groomed perfectly!!! Ears, Anal, Eyes, cut perfectly, I mean I could not be more pleased!!! Daniel the Owner was super friendly, and my Moses came out looking 5 years younger!!! Seriously, he was a mess!! I posted a picture.. He doesn't look his age (15) at all!!! If you're looking for a groomer, this is the place!!! So happy to have finally found the right fit!!! Happy Customer!! Esther

Daniel is the very best! She's very sweet to my dogs and they love him! Also very accommodating for my work schedule that often times does not come out until way later than he's booked out. Really a great guy and they do amazing work.

It's a nightmare trying to trim our corgi's nails. Charlie is normally low key dog but will actually growl and snap at me when I try to trim or grind his nails. I was shocked when I took him in and the gentleman at Fur Side picked Charlie up and trimmed all his nails in under a minute while Charlie stood on the table like nothing was going on. A+ would recommend highly.

I really wanted to like this place because it's close to my house :( This place works by appointment only and you have to drop your dog between 8 and 10 am. Daniel the owner is friendly and helpful. When I took my dog there he said he doesn't need grooming and he can give him a Mini groom. Iwas ok with that. I dropped off my dog at 9:30 and picked him up after Daniel called me around 2 pm. My dog looked nice but when I brought him home I realized his ears were not clean at all. I had to clean it by myself. I mean how could you not clean dogs ears? Disappointed. Doubtful I go back.

I've been to Fur Side twice with my toy poodle, and I've been happy both times. Daniel is friendly and does good work. I left a voicemail after hours and he got back to me the next morning. Drop off is between 8 and 9, and he'll call to let you know when you can pick up. It's $50 for my 7.5 lb dog which I think is fair. I'm not sure how the price scales for larger dogs.

I am notoriously picky! If you don't believe me then read some of my other reviews. I've had a dachshund for 14 years and have never been to a groomer in my life but I've heard horror stories from my friends with Lhasas / Shitz. Daniel was amazing from start to finish (from original phone call to my first visit to my first exit). My little rescue Lhasa just looks the sweetest ever. Daniel not only did a great job but he made me feel comfortable and the prices were extremely reasonable. Rumor has it he stays very busy and I can see why! Thank You Village Vets for your recommendation!!

I'm updating this review because the owner reached out and offered refund and apologized for not communicating what he decided to do with the cut before going ahead with it. --------------------------------- Just picked up my dog to find her completely butchered. Angry at myself for even paying for the cut. My dog had some matting in her ears and under the chin. I expected that he would have to cut her head a little bit short and do some work to blend the short cut on her ears and under the chin. Instead he decided to shave her entire body and head, and make her look like an abused mongrel. This is the laziest and most atrocious attempt at grooming I've ever encountered. Completely unacceptable.

I can't say enough good things about Daniel and the service at Furside! Booking appointments is so easy, Daniel is so friendly, and my dog always comes out looking like a new pup. I also love that Daniel does so much for local pet shelters. Thanks, Daniel! One note: finding the location can be a little difficult because it's on the back side of the building that Google Maps brings you to... just a heads up!! There are a few parking spots back there though which make drop off and pick up a breeze.

The Fur Side was recommended to me by someone I trust, and he was right, they are very good. I took my 4.5 month old Boykin Spaniel in the have her nails trimmed, a bath, and mostly become comfortable with occasional visits to the groomer. They were so good with her, and she wasn't the least bit anxious or stressed when I picked her up. I highly recommend them.

Daniel is super nice and does a great job with my dog. I've been here many times and have always been happy. I have a very very large dog who doesn't like baths but the Fur Side knows how to handle her.

We took our three angel dachshunds here for more than a decade until they all went to doggie heaven last year. One of them was longhaired so she allowed Daniel the owner to be a little creative. However, the other two were shorthairs and needed only boring nail clips, which at 5 $ don't make a man rich, and uh how shall I say it, "gland expression" to eradicate the STINKY stuff that some dogs can get rid of by "scooting" (hopefully) outside. Unfortunately, our three needed professional help. I tried to do this malodorous task myself, but just couldn't get the hang of it. Anyway, even this dreadful job was no prob for Daniel. He is a very kind and decent man and we consider him a friend. Now we have a new baby with short hair who will probably just need nail trims. I'd like to get another canine eventually and s/he will go to Uncle Daniel as well. I'd prefer a longer haired dog to help out his revenues! Obviously, I recommend The Fur Side.

The fur side took care of our dog Maurice (Moe) for years. The scheduling process was always easy and Moe came home with a very nice haircut and less fatigue than other groomers we started with before finding the fur side. As the years passed Moe became a senior dog and grooming became difficult. The fur side stayed loyal to us and helped keep Moe looking good until the end, which proved to be extremely difficult. The fur side went above and beyond what I would expect. I would safely say you will not find a better groomer for your pet at a very honest and reasonable price.

We've been taking our girls to this small shop for several years now. We're always thrilled at the result and the staff are gracious enough to put up with the drama that these spoiled furry children dish out. It's usually easy to get an appointment-- but you do need one. Our dogs are big and get just a "shave down". I've seen other, more "styled" dogs there, however, and they always look great. Just a hint: if you're not often in downtown Decatur, you might have trouble finding them. They're behind Nathalie's Fish House across from the Courthouse annex's parking lot.

It took us awhile to find a groomer that we like in the Decatur area. After trying a few I'm glad we stumbled upon Furside! They are very nice. Great groomer! Great price!

After using the same groomer for 17 years, she moved. The Fur Side was recommended and I could not be more pleased. I took my 16 week old puppy for a mini-groom. He came home happy and smelling great! I already booked our next appointment. Daniel was so personable and welcoming. You have a customer for life!

This was my first time taking my two dogs here. The place is quite different from other places that I've been too. It is kinda hidden and quite hot. I mean, they have fans but I don't know how these groomers can work in such a humid environment on hot summer days. They definitely deserves to work in an air-conditioned environment. I was very pleased with how my two dogs hair cut turned out, until I noticed that one of my dog has a scissor cut on his tail . It's disappointed to know that the groomer did not make note of it upon my arrival. However, I am optimistic about this place would give this place a try again, but most importantly would appreciate a heads up from them if there's been any accident.

Daniel is the best! I've been taking my Maine coon mix for the last 4 years for her summer cuts.

We have used and looked at several places close by and have never found anyone we were happy with. Daniel is amazing! This is the first time we have been completely satisfied with our dogs' grooming. He listened attentively and gave us exactly what we asked for and added perfect suggestions. We felt comfortable leaving our dogs in his care. Which is really the best part. Pleasant and clean atmosphere and affordable, look no further.

Our Chihuahua is a major drama queen, and we've given up trying to trim her nails. "Mr. Dan" is super efficient, and our Little Bitty is able to move on quickly. He's also so much more affordable than other places we've checked.

Best pet groomer I have ever been to! He went above and beyond. My shit tzu has never looked better :) super affordable And gave us great recommendations for pet sitters while we were away on our honeymoon. Will definitely be back and with our other dog!

Been here several times now and Daniel is always professional and kind. Nala just puts up with the shame of her "sanitary shaves" and when she gets home, she never acts traumatized. Great service and great quality.

I've been taking my dogs here for 16 years. There is not a more knowledgeable caring groomer than owner Daniel Riley. When my little guy gets excited as we arrive each month, well that's all the proof I need that the staff love and care for our pets as if they were their own. As for the grooming, I have other pet owners ask me all the time who my groomer is because his cuts are perfect every time. If you care about your pet while not in your care, this is the place to go.

I like this place, but my only problem is that they crate the dogs all day, It would be nice if the dogs played together before they got groomed. The service was great and they had descent prices.

I think it is a good sign when my dog actually likes going to the groomer. My poodle Skippy really does enjoy his grooming and we always treated great.

I have been taking my beloved yorkie here for years. Daniel the owner is so nice and really gentle with her. She always looks adorable when she leaves. They give the best puppy cut she has ever had. Will never take her anywhere else. Also, they don't put nuses on dogs when grooming so they are safe....

I love Furside. I was recommended to take my slightly nervous, highly dramatic yet intelligent dog to them for grooming. He doesn't like his ears plucked, eyes cleaned or butt squeezed (ie anal glands) but every time I pick him up he looks amazing and the place is intact. Highly recommend Furside.

Dan is friendly, loves animal and he knows his stuff. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a pet groomer.

Wonderful place - I love listening to how the dogs are spoken to and obviously cared for and loved as part of the grooming process - have been to other groomers who are simply in business for the money, not the love of animals. This is truly a labor of love for the owner, it is clear. (Decatur location)
