Fusaki Beach Resort Hotel & Villas (Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Fusaki Beach Resort is situated right on the beachfront on Japan’s Ishigaki Island, farther southwest than Okinawa and quite close to Taiwan. It’s a family-friendly resort in many ways, with a set of pool options, a water park, and a full roster of activities like snorkeling or scuba diving. Public spaces lean into the tropical vibes, with clever lighting and verdant touches. Rooms feel simple and fresh, with pops of nautical color and private balconies with views." - Tablet Hotels

Had an absolutely lovely experience here! The beach is beautiful, the pools are great (the kids' water park is amazing!), and the food is delicious. Our room was wonderful, and the service was fantastic. This spot is perfect for couples, friends, or family trips. The price is also very reasonable, especially if you book in advance. While it's not super close to the airport, they offer a free pick-up service, which is a huge plus. It can get a bit crowded during peak season, so consider visiting during the off-season for a more relaxed vibe. Overall, wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone!

We recently stayed at Fusaki Beach on Ishigaki Island after a very busy 14 days travelling around Japan and choose it for some r&r before returning home to UK. While there were certainly some lovely highlights, a few aspects left us feeling slightly underwhelmed.||The setting itself is charming, with beautifully maintained grounds and a genuinely picturesque beachfront. Our room was absolutely beautiful—spacious, thoughtfully designed, and immaculately clean, which made for a wonderfully comfortable stay.||However, we did find the on-site dining to be rather expensive, even for takeaway options, which felt a little steep considering the casual nature of some meals. The pool bar was closed for refurbishment, which was genuinely disappointing as there wasn’t a particularly nice or atmospheric spot to enjoy a pre-dinner or mid-day drink. Nothing happening at hotel in evenings,no entertainment whether that's a culture thing or seasonal. ||One of the more surprising inconveniences was the early morning leaf-blowing—starting around 8am right outside the room, which was quite startling but maybe after 9am. |We typically avoid family resorts and lean toward adults-only stays, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptionally well-behaved and respectful nature of the local families and children. That said, the resort was still very noisy by the pool with lots of toddlers and babies around, which made true peace and tranquillity quite elusive. Even at the furthest end from the children’s pool, there was an irritatingly frequent bell sound from a nearby water feature. We eventually managed to mentally zone it out, but it was persistently present.||A real positive worth highlighting was the resort’s eco-conscious initiative, where guests can opt out of housekeeping in exchange for credit, encouraging resource conservation—an idea we absolutely applaud.||Check-in and check-out were impressively smooth and professionally handled, which we greatly appreciated. The Western breakfast was acceptable, with a limited but decent selection of cereals, eggs, bacon, and sausages. Understandably, given the mostly non-Western guest demographic, the offerings weren’t vast, but there was still plenty to choose from. Fussy European eaters might find it a touch restrictive, but it worked fine for us.||In summary, Fusaki Beach offers a visually stunning, family-friendly environment, but those seeking a quiet, couples retreat may wish to look elsewhere. Hotel is quite remote so Definitely recommend hiring a car to get out in evenings to eat elsewhere. ||

Beach side resort for families. |Staff were great, food is good, had sunny weather, place has a gym and choice of breakfast restaurants but it’s very much set up for families with lots of small children. Japanese kids are well behaved but you do feel like you’re in a nursery at breakfast time. |Big plus if your a swimmer is a patrolled beach with netting to keep out the stingers. Closed outside of 9-5.

A perfect resort for families with young children — and perhaps only families with young children! If you’re a couple seeking romance or a family with teenagers dreaming of thrilling adventures, this might not be your ideal destination. But if you’re traveling with a toddler or baby in tow, welcome to paradise. Do keep in mind, however, that the resort experience is designed almost entirely in Japanese. Staff were kind and tried their best, but their English was limited — and there was no English version of the hotel map or facility guides. We found ourselves frequently using a translation app or heading to the concierge to ask for help, which added a bit of extra time to everything. That said, the staff’s warmth, the quality of the food, and the family-friendly facilities made up for it. We’d happily come back — especially with our little one.

I had a wonderful stay at this resort. It’s located about 30 minutes by car from the airport and around 15 minutes from the city center. A taxi ride costs approximately 1,700 yen each way. The hotel offers car rental services, but only for Japanese-speaking guests. Since the weather was great during our visit, we decided to rent a scooter from nangokuya.ishigaki instead, which worked out perfectly and without any complications. We needed a translation of our driving licence, prepared and delivered to the hotel in advance by vacances-ishigaki. The scooter allowed us to explore the island freely, including Kabira Bay and other beautiful beaches where you can swim and snorkel directly from the shore. Be aware that the hotel is not within walking distance of any towns or supermarkets. I stayed in a Superior twin room in the North Wing, which was spacious, well laid out, and featured a nice, essential bathroom. The room furnishings aren’t particularly modern, but everything was clean, nice and functional. I also had a balcony, which was a nice touch. Housekeeping is done daily, but you can opt for a full skip (no cleaning) or a half skip (just towel replacement) and receive a 1,000 or 500 yen voucher, respectively, usable at the hotel bar or shop. A thoughtful and eco-friendly option. The pool is lovely, and the water is warm enough for an evening swim, even around 8 PM. The beach is beautiful as well, with a netted swimming area for protection from jellyfish. You can see plenty of fish even in knee-deep water, making it possible to enjoy snorkeling right from the shore—just like at many of Ishigaki’s beaches, which is something truly special. Despite the resort being full during our stay in late May, we never had trouble finding available sun loungers at the pool or on the beach. The gym isn’t heavily equipped with machines, but it has plenty of mats, kettlebells, free weights, and medicine balls, which were more than enough for a solid workout. We didn’t use the indoor pool or sauna since the weather was perfect the entire time, but it’s nice to know they’re available and open until late. The snorkeling tour we booked through the hotel went very well—it ended up being just the two of us and another couple, which made for a very enjoyable and relaxed experience. The only confusing part was the price: the brochure listed 7,700 yen for the afternoon tour, but we were charged 8,800 yen because of "a change of location" so just be aware of that discrepancy. For breakfast, we only tried the buffet in the North Wing. It was good and fairly varied, though I can imagine it might become a bit repetitive if staying for two weeks. We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurants, as we always chose to dine in different Restaurants in town, but we did try the bar, and the food there was quite good. Each floor of the hotel has a free water and ice dispenser, coin-operated washers and dryers, as well as the typical Japanese vending machines. In every room, you’ll find pajamas, slippers, and a full set of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion), along with a safe and minibar fridge. I truly appreciated the cleanliness, order, and peaceful atmosphere throughout the property. The staff doesn't speak much English, but with the help of Google Translate, communication was smooth enough.

Nice resort on the beach. Garden villa Room is spacious but bathroom feels a bit dated. Also Nextdoor villa is getting renovated so a bit noisy. Beach is not bad but doesn’t stand out relative to other Okinawa beaches.

rooms are nice though somewhat dated, we stayed in the north cluster rooms and we’re a little bit surprised how the groundskeeping looked like it had been neglected for a month. I’ve been told that the normal stay there is about two or three nights, which I think made sense because breakfast and dinner were identical every night and did start to get tiresome.

The best hotel on ishigaki Island by far loved it. I was there 8 days and I was never bored. So many different restaurants that are wonderful. The room was beautiful. I got the room that had the downstairs patio. There aren't big ocean views but it doesn't matter because you're on the ocean all day and there's wonderful sunsets
