"Relaxing on Lake Fuschl Fuschlsee (Lake Fuschl) is the lake closest to Salzburg and includes four public beaches, all with breathtaking scenery that makes it easy to relax and unwind. Its pristine emerald green waters are considered the cleanest of the Salzkammergut region and suitable for drinking. The Archbishops of Salzburg used the lakeside castle as their hunting lodge - meaning all the fish from the lake ended up on their own tables."

One of the most beautiful lakes in Austria, and also the clearest water in Austria. But almost all areas were private, which meant it wasn't easy to find areas to enter the lake. But we still found some secret places that make us like have a private lake area. We didn't do full complete ways around the lake because we didn't use comfortable shoes for walking. Notes: parking can be a bit confusing as no one was present to accept payment, but there were plenty of areas available for parking your car.

Beautiful lake with crystal clear water. As I found out, motor boats are prohibited (thanks God!), therefore you can enjoy peaceful and quiet time at the one of the beaches around the lake. Highly recommended!

So many times I have been in and around this beautiful lake and it never disappoints me. Sunrise or sunset and everything in between, it’s gorgeous. The water is pure and most of the time you see the ground. A real gem in the heart of an amazing area.

The lake is gorgeous, the water is unreal blue and the surroundings are just as beautiful! Is really easy to get there from Salzburg, we went after work and just stayed to watch the sunset.

Finally the weather changed, so we could make a hike in here. We choosed tour around lake - it takes around 3 hours easy walk with many stops for enjoyable views. It is 12 km, can make a stop in Fuschl am See for beer or coffee. Really easy hike, we can recommend for everyone

The beauty of Austria. The reason why I am here. Simply amazing. Water is sooooooo green & clear. Love this place. Local hotels are very nice. Parking facility available. Good for children as well. Lots of activities to do.

My new love in Austria. Crystal clear water, in unutterable colors. Forests and hills are around. Magnificent. The lake is not too big, so on warm summer you can go swimming. We took the trip Fuschlseerundweg. On the south part of the lake there are many free, calm places - besides of the paying ones -, where you can take a rest or swim. The north part is full of private beaches, you cannot reach the water from this side. A must-to-see in Salzkammergut.

Yelp
Only 14 miles (22 km) from Salzburg Austria.1,500 folks live in Fuschl, so you will definitely get to meet the locals.A majestic place of pristine lakes.Soaring mountains. And very friendly people. All the beer and food is proudly local...with trout fresh from the lake.Surprisingly,it is not expensive considering the amenities. You can stay in modest "pensions" right across from the lake, and walk everywhere.Taxis are non existent but the bus service is frequent and very cheap.About $6 to Salzburg or vice versa.
