Fushifaru, Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives - Explore & Book

"Our first glimpse of Fushifaru is from the sky. It’s a tiny speck in a turquoise world. We circle it in mere seconds, then swoop down, skimming across the water as our seaplane skids to a halt. What a way to arrive. It’s the colours that hit you first. The blues of the ocean are blinding, and the water completely translucent, revealing coral and tropical fish in rainbow shades. A boardwalk leads to the island – a perfect curve of silky white sand, at the centre of which sits a clump of lush palm trees. Smiling staff donning bright Hawaiian shirts usher you in, then pass you freshly felled coconuts pierced with metal straws for sipping on their juices. Award-winning Fushifaru is a small island (we swam the perimeter in 30 minutes), owned by a Maldivian, so everything feels personal and authentic. You’re assigned your own butler on arrival, restaurant staff know you by name, and the island never appears crowded – we often had the entire east beach to ourselves. Some villas face the sunrise, others the sunset, and the plushest ones are on stilts above the water. You might snorkel in the morning, pausing for a swing in the hammock strung up in the underwater playground, then go for a massage in the afternoon, before trotting barefoot to the pool bar for sundowners. And if you get bored (you won’t), the watersports centre offers everything from dolphin cruises to reef dives. The island feels luxe and exclusive yet laid-back too. And it works for couples and families alike. You’ll wish you were shipwrecked here forever – it’s another world. Highs Rooms are very reasonable for a Maldivian resort of this calibre - make use of their excellent special offers and you'll get hugely reduced prices (far lower than those advertised) The journey alone is unforgettable: you arrive by seaplane and get amazing aerial views of the atolls and reef systems The resort is bijou and boutique, so it feels intimate and personal but not remotely stuffy – and kids are warmly welcomed All villas have outdoor or semi-open-air bathrooms which are completely private and feel very tropical The staff are exceptional – they get to know you by name and are fun and friendly Lows There’s no house reef, so you’ll need to get a boat to neighbouring islands to go diving, but Fushifaru's large lagoon has some good snorkelling spots (we saw a ray) and underwater playgrounds As with all resorts in the Maldives, extras - activities, food and drink, seaplane transfers – can be pricey The beach villas' enclosed open-air bathrooms are warm - consider a water villa if you prefer an indoor bathroom (with A/C and the option to slide open the door to the ocean)" - Lucy Richardson

Best vacation ever, perfect for honeymoon. Amazing waters and beach. We felt like in a movie and dream world. The water is crystal clear and we saw turtles, sharks (not dangerous), stingrays, eagle rays, and many colourful fish. The room/villa is very clean, tidy, and the bathroom like in a fantasy world. We had our own private villa with great sea view. The staff is very friendly and huge hospitality. They make you feel like you are family. Among many other kind people, we had the pleasure of meeting Mizzy (our personal guest) and Sanjib (our personal waiter). Very kind, friendly, helpful, and with good vibes. Our room service Widya was also careful to every detail and made our room perfectly clean and organised everyday. The food is great. It has a bit focus on oriental cuisine, but you had what to eat. Poultry, lamb, beef, and fish was always present. Lots of vegetables and fruits (best tropical fruits i have ever eaten. The chefs are good. We ate every morning fresh omelette with veggies, salad, Greek yogurt, nuts, oatmeal, green tea, fresh bread, smoked salmon, and many more delicious food. We tried every evening the cuisine (Italian, Indian, mediteranean, Maldivian, Mediterranean, Arabic), but focused more on the grill.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Our family had never visited the Maledives before. As you might expect our expectations were sky high. Even so they were exceeded. Let’s start with the arrival. One gets personally greeted by traditional music and then gets directed to the reception where one is situated in a climatized VIP residency. The check in process is smooth but be ready to put down a deposit of 500 usd. You will then be assigned your personal host which you can reach by messenger 24/7. The villas are absolutely great and modern as they were built in 2017. The room cleaning is done twice a day and your pool is also cleaned daily. A nice touch is that you will be served by the same person every day so that you can build a very personal connection. Food is great and different food is served every day which rotates after 7 days. All in all definitely to recommend also opt for the all inclusive package as prices will be steep otherwise.

Fushifaru Resort Review Our six-day stay at Fushifaru from November 17th-22nd was an unforgettable experience despite some rainy weather. From the moment we arrived, Dia and the staff made us feel welcome, creating a personal and warm atmosphere. We stayed in a Water Bungalow with a Jacuzzi, offering direct access to the sea for snorkeling. The room was spacious, meticulously cleaned, and equipped with modern amenities, including multi-national plugs, USB ports, and a well-stocked minibar. Housekeeping was exceptional, visiting 2-3 times daily. Food options were varied, including Maldivian, Indian, and themed nights. The all-inclusive package provided great value, with highlights such as teppanyaki at Raakani Grill and delicious drinks from the Fanihandhi Bar. Activities included snorkeling with sea turtles, a cooking class, a complementary massage, kayaking, and a Dhoni sunset sail. While rough seas caused some seasickness during snorkeling, spotting sea turtles was a highlight. Dia’s attentive rebooking of activities after weather cancellations ensured we made the most of our trip. The staff’s exceptional service made our stay memorable. Dia provided personalized care, checking on us even after our return home. Shazmyn’s attentive service at meals, Jalal’s warm demeanor, and Mikael and Laxmi’s dedication during room service stood out. Arif’s cooking class, Sulis and Vere’s spa treatments, and Niu Sher’s skilled photography added unique touches to our experience. Alam’s attentive housekeeping further enhanced our comfort. Fushifaru offers stunning views, excellent food, and unparalleled service. The staff’s dedication transforms the resort into more than just a luxurious destination—it’s a truly personalized experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a relaxing, beachside getaway.

Our 6-day stay at this resort was nothing short of incredible—truly the best vacation we’ve ever had. The island itself is an absolute paradise, with stunning natural beauty, pristine white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. It’s everything you’d imagine paradise to be and more. The hotel is simply extraordinary. I’ve never been to a more idyllic place. The landscape and well-maintained surroundings are breathtaking. We stayed in both a beach villa and a water villa, and both experiences were wonderful. The beach villa is in no way overshadowed by the water villa; the open-air garden bathroom is beautiful, and having a private stretch of beach is a dream. The marine life is spectacular. We had the opportunity to see sharks, manta rays, and a huge variety of colorful fish while snorkeling along the resort’s coral reef. One of the highlights of this resort is the food. We opted for a half-board plan, which was more than enough. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional, with incredible quality and variety. Every night featured a different theme (Indian, Asian, Maldivian, etc.), making every meal exciting and delicious. What truly sets this resort apart is its remarkable staff. Every team member is incredibly kind, attentive, and dedicated to making your stay perfect. We’d like to give a special thanks to Maggie, Shayan, Shazmyn, Jamal, and Moosa at the restaurant for their impeccable service; Tete, Maji, and Ega at the bar for always making us feel welcome; Shivani for her incredible yoga class; Axyan, our villa attendant, for the stunning floral birthday decoration; and our amazing host Maria, whose care and attention to detail made our vacation unforgettable. This has been a dream come true, and we can’t wait to return to this little piece of paradise.

We had a very pleasant stay at Fushifaru in the Sunrise villa. It has a beautiful private pool and a quick access to the beach where you can see the most beautiful sunrises of your life . The outdoor bathroom is so unique with a very nice bathtub. Loved the fact that I could keep woking out at the gym and play tennis during our holiday. The staff were super friendly and amazing, some also knew Italian and welcomed us in our language. Karen and Jen stood out with their exceptional hospitality and attentiveness. We had such amazing time and for sure will go back there.

My wife and I were invited to join our friend as she, her family, and other friends celebrated her 50th birthday at Fushifaru. From our arrival via seaplane, we were welcomed and looked after by the amazing staff. Our over-water villa gave us beautiful sunrises every morning and was very comfortable. The food at Korakali, the buffet restaurant was top notch. Loved our breakfast each morning with fresh cut fruit and eggs prepared to order. Each night they had a different theme, and there was always something we enjoyed. We enjoyed spending our mornings by the infinity pool and the Fanihandi bar staff always made sure we had what we needed. We experienced excellent massage treatments at the Heylhi Spa. The snorkeling around the island in the crystal clear waters is awesome with beautiful, colorful, tropical fish all around. We also went on a turtle quest excursion to another reef where we were able to see sea turtles and hundreds of other fish. On our final night our whole group went out on a champagne sunset cruise where we also spotted dolphins. I highly recommend Fushifaru resort to anyone considering visiting the Maldives.

Incredible experience Fushifaru is truly a paradise! The Journey starts off from Seaplane to a warm welcome by the entire staff of Fushifaru on arrival. They greet you with traditional music and refreshing drink to freshen up. Each guest is assigned a host who takes care of your entire stay and ensures everything is aligned and on time for all activities. From the starting of our trip to the end all was taken care by our host Ms. Cathy. We were booked for 2 days in Pool Sunrise Beach Villa followed by 1 day stay in Water Villa. The rooms are so beautiful and very very clean. We had the experience of Full board which means Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all was inclusive of drinks. The food is delicious and so fresh each and every dish we had was outstanding in taste, quality and freshness. Infact, the CHEF Mr. Kadri and Mr. Sumon was so nice that they even had their meals with us, such a personalized experience I have never had before. The cuisine found in the island is a mix of Arabic, Indian, Sri Lankan and Oriental influences. The resort also had a diverse international menu as well as traditional Maldivian dishes. Our server Ms. Leni & Mr. Shareef was always very active during our meal services. Since it was my Birthday, the team surprised me with beautiful decorations in our Water Villa with a customized birthday cake and Fushifaru’s hat along with a personalized letter from the General Manager Mr. Ahmed. He is really a gem and very friendly, giving me insight on the resort. From day 1 he convinced me to travel Maldives to experience this beautiful country and off course his Island Fushifaru, I must say, the overall experience, I felt a deep gratitude for being alive and experiencing what my thoughts can manifest. During my trip, I had several adventures, sand-bank, Sea-bobbing, snorkeling, etc. I had the tradtional special massage, attended the coconut show and tried the ethic Maldivian dress “Dhivehi Libaas”. My trip to Maldives was absolutley amazing. I honestly didn’t want to leave, but my time to return to Dubai was fast approaching. Going on this kind of trip really taught me the importance of isolation and deep relaxation. I want to thanks each and everyone in the Fushifaru Resort for such a great service. I recommend you guys get to experience this heaven on earth soon and get out of the busy city life and into nature more often.
