Google
Best steak in Dublin. Never a disappointment when dining at any of the Buckley owned establishments, but this is my favorite. Intimate experience with the kitchen window peaking into the dining area. Of course the steak is top notch but don’t pass up on the Chicken Supreme, great flavor combinations. Sunday Roast is a great deal for the price. You get plenty of food! This is a must stop when dining in City Centre.

Google
"The Best Roast In Dublin" is easily the best beef roast I've ever had. Every single item on the plate was delightful and perfectly cooked. A lovely small restaurant with excellent service, and worth the price, some quiet background music was playing which was perfect as it didn't get in the way of conversation. Just make sure you arrive with an empty stomach - it's a decent sized portion!

Google
Fantastic experience at a reasonable price too. Everything was delicious, starters, sides, the steaks and even the cocktails too. The dry aged steaks were cooked to perfection. Not a cheap place, but if you are going to visit just one location in Dublin it should be this one!

I had read some great reviews about FX Buckley, so I decided to give it a try while visiting Dublin. As expected, everything was spot on. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the waiter was incredibly friendly, helping me choose a glass of red wine that paired beautifully with my meal. Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch and would definitely recommend this place.

Google
This place was recommended to me on Reddit as one of the best Sunday roast in Dublin, and during my stay in the city, I discovered that most pubs on their menu, boast about having meat from FX Buckley. That's when I understood how good it would've been. Expections weren't disappointed, although a bit pricey, quality received It's well matched. Sunday roast is a very good deal in terms of portions and price, while the fillet and the other lean cuts, feels like they're a bit overpriced. Same with the short rib nugget: 14€ for a 50gr meatball, even if it has a little splash of truffle. But I'm Italian, so maybe I'm used to different standards of quality/price ratio for beef. Overall, it's a very good irish fine dining experience

Google
What a final night dining experience in Dublin! From the minute we sat down to when we left the service was incredible. Two waiters helped out table all night on top of the sommelier giving his help with wine pairings. The shared steak experience/price is a must if you have two people who want the same steak. Irish coffee for desert was a delight too.

Google
Fantastic dinner on St. Patrick’s Day. Food was phenomenal, service was great all throughout the meal with the exception of it being extremely difficult to get our check. After finishing our after dinner drink, we weren’t checked on for over 30 minutes, and I tried multiple times to flag our server down, and finally was able to after a long time. Just a nitpick, the experience was great overall! We will be back!

Google
We are from Texas which is famous for the steak. Here was above amazing. The steaks and sides were super delicious. I wish we could go back soon.

Yelp
The steak here was delicious! It was seasoned well and seared well, with just the right amount of salt and a nice crust. The pepper sauce added a nice touch, but the steak tasted fabulous on its own. The chips in beef drippings were super crispy, and you could really taste the beef drippings. I got a small 6 oz. Filet with chips and it was enough to fill me. I was perfectly satisfied. To end on a sweet note, I ordered the Black Forest Cheesecake and it was creamy and decadent, without being too heavy. The cherry sorbet that accompanied it was refreshing. The only item I did not like from the menu was the Heritage 1930 cocktail: way too sweet. Good thing I ended on a different, more pleasant, sweet note.

Yelp
My partner and I showed up from our long-haul flight, dragging our suitcases and backpacks, wearing hoodies and sneakers and definitely tired. You would've thought we came dressed to the nines! This place was elevated, and I greatly appreciated that it didn't affect the attention and service we received. The Sunday roast was great value for the cost! We started with the bone marrow, which was so good. There was a layer of buttery-soft mashed potatoes which were delicious! The potatoes roasted in duck fat... I mean, what is better?

Yelp
Make the reservation and prepare yourself by skipping lunch that day. The restaurant and its staff really is a gem. Casual enough for friends to gather but "dressy" enough to be a nice date night place. Started with the short rib nugget, beef carpaccio and caesar salad. Here's the deal, the salad plate was cold, but the salad itself was room temp at best and the dressing was really "mayonnaise-y" and less like you typical Caesar dressing (peppery, lemony, anchovy-ey). The beef carpaccio had good flavor, but nothing that would blow your mind. However, the short rib carried the misses from the other starters. It was tender shredded short rib coated in a light breading and fried. It was served with a mushroom type cream sauce and I could've and would've eaten it for app, main and dessert! As for the main, we opted for the cote de boeuf. I didn't realize how much food it was going to come with until I saw a neighbor table order the chateaubriand and the food just kept pilling on! It came with all 4 sauces, and all the sides you could imagine. It was for 2, but could easily feed 4! The server suggested we order it medium so the fats had enough time to render, however, I would stick to medium-rare next time because some of the actual meat was a bit more done than I would normally take. We opted for the foie gras on top and that really helped with the "more cooked" pieces. We ended up taking 1/2 of the dinner to go. Unfortunately we had no space for dessert, but I cannot wait to visit this place again!

Yelp
FX Buckley was an unplanned birthday success! My cousin and I were visiting Dublin in May for my birthday and had a different restaurant planned for my birthday dinner; however, due to my fashionably lateness (which I say is allowed on one's birthday), we missed our reservation. The night before we met a chef while having drinks at Brazen Head, and when we told him of my birthday dinner plans, he suggested FX Buckley as an alternative. After missing our reservation, we realized how close we were to FX Buckley so we stopped by, and they said they'd be able to fit us in within an hour which was perfect. We walked over to the pub across the street for a Guiness, and around 30 minutes later, Daniel, the host/manager? came over to grab us. From there, we had the best dinner ever. I think our waiter was named George - at least that's what the receipt says, but for some reason I have "Robert?" saved as a note in my phone - either way, he was great. We ordered cocktails (I ordered the espresso martini; my cousin ordered the whiskey sour, and later the bourbon old fashioned - which comes with a fun smokey show). For steak, they displayed a tray of various cuts for us to choose from (I went with the 12 oz sirloin and my cousin ordered the 12 oz rib eye). For our side, we each ordered the creamy mashed potato with spring onion and for additional sides, we ordered the green beans with shallot dressing and the caramelized onions. All of the steak sauce options were so good; instead of choosing one, they brought out all four for us to sample. My favorites were probably the garlic butter and the Bearnaise; the other two were pepper sauce and bone marrow jus. And to top it all off, at the end of the meal they brought out a birthday vanilla crème brûlée with a candle. The restaurant is not a large location (though it is a really lovely space) so I'm thankful they were able to fit us in without a reservation. It was a fantastic birthday dinner, and I hope to dine here again on my next visit to Dublin.

Yelp
This was one spot that I didn't plan on visiting, but surprisingly was the absolute favorite meal on the entire Ireland trip. Our tour guide mentioned how great all the beef is here because the cows are all grass-fed, so we decided to check it out. Although we weren't able to get reservations the day of, we decided to come early at 5:30pm for a seat. Luckily, they were able to accommodate us, but definitely make reservations ahead of time. Once you're seated, the waiter brings a platter of all their cuts of meat and gives you an introduction. This was impressive. We ended up ordering the Porterhouse for 2 (€105), side of Sugar Pit Bacon (€4.95), and a bottle of Urban Malbec (€44). The porterhouse is perfect for a date night, which also includes all the fixings: sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, mashed potatoes, chips (or fries), green beans, and broccolini. All I can say is WOW. This meal was absolutely delicious! Be sure to come here with an appetite. With all the meat and potatoes you will consume in Ireland, this is one that you don't want to miss.

Yelp
While traveling in Ireland with my daughter, we decided to give F.X. Buckley a try. I was looking forward to try a steakhouse that has been voted as one of the top 101 Steak Restaurants in the world for 4 consecutive years. And F.X. Buckley did not disappoint! Impeccable service coupled with excellent steak. I ordered the 22oz Rib Eye on the bone. It was juicy and flavorful, simply superb. The cajun onions were a nice surprise and their fries were thick with a crunchy exterior and a light and fluffy interior. We loved it!
google avatar

Rich B.

Yelp
Aer Lingus purser couldn't stop talking about Irish grass fed beef, and FX Buckley. I now know why. Most delicious and tender steak I've ever had, will definitely be back on the next trip to Ireland. Staff made us feel very welcome.

Yelp
In my opinion, the best steak house in Dublin. Both the quality of the beef and how it is prepared is critical, and they get it correct on both attributes. I had the bone in ribeye and the cut had just the right amount of marbling and was cooked to true medium rare, just as ordered. I like the fried onions that were included and the fact I could substitute a salad for the potatoes. The creamed spinach side was also great. The atmosphere also works for a steakhouse, it is old school without being fake old school (where they try too hard) and service is quite efficient. Best steak house experience I've had in Dublin.

Micah H.

Yelp
Amazing food and we're able to seat a part of 2 last minute. Meat was perfectly cooked to the requested medium rare and the pepper sauce was a perfect compliment to it, not overpowering.
google avatar

Nikos T.

Yelp
One of the best steakhouses I 've been ever Cozy and easy going, it serves cuts of filet, sirloin and ribeye the way you like it with a range of sides and sauces. T-bone is absolutely awesome
google avatar

Lien d.

Yelp
Food was delicious but you don't get much for what you pay for. Although the bone marrow was definitely worth it. Obviously all the food is incredible quality and great service too. They have beautiful modern water carafes that caught my eye. Nice bathrooms too.
google avatar

Elgin M.

Yelp
After not being able to get a seat in my first couple of visits due to my own lack of planning I was finally able to see what this is all about. I was not disappointed in the slightest. Great service, great food from starter to dessert. And maybe even the best of all a great price for the food and service I got. If I had had this exact same meal in the states it would have easily cost me twice as much. If you're planning a visit to Dublin call ahead and get a table or you likely will be left out in the cold. Order the Ribeye med rare, and a side creamed spinach and thank me later. Also if there's more than one of you have an order of oysters and get your meal started off right. (Thanks table next to me)

Yelp
This steakhouse was wonderful. It was easy to find and reservations are suggested. We ate late but the service was amazing and the servers were prompt and professional. The wine selection was good and it was a low key vibe and ambiance was very comfortable. I would recommend! It doesn't feel like you're in the middle of the mess outside lol

Erik B.

Yelp
Incredible steaks right in the heart of Dublin. Ambiance was very good and the staff was very knowledgeable on the different cuts of meat.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Food was excellent!! Had the beetroot ravioli w/goat cheese and cashews and the beef carpaccio to start and both were SPECTACULAR! Had the strip loin on the bone and off: both were amazing and cooked to perfection!! The only thing that was "off" was the service. Oddly our server never stopped by our table after our mains came ... At any rate, the food was amazing!!

Yelp
So here's my story and I'm sticking to it... walking though Dublin and the wife and I run across a butcher shop, F.X.Buckley, and loving meat the way I do I was very sad... all that lovely meat and no way to take it home or grill it on the balcony of the hotel. But WAIT they have restaurants, with available slots for reservations!!! Yay for us, we can eat that beautiful meat and not have to cook it ourselves So we made reservations for F.X. Buckley the Restaurant Started with 1/2 dozen oysters, beautiful fresh flavor Porterhouse, chips, mash, green beans, broccoli Perfectly cooked Cuts like butter Crème Brule Very attentive service 815 reservation, seated exactly on time €142 for two with, tax tips and drinks they have their own steak knives that they sharpen 3 x a week so your meat will cut and not tear Highly recommend - and reasonably priced for a higher end restaurant

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Staff went out of there way to make sure we had an amazing meal. Steaks were fabulous ! Good baked potatos and vegtables as well 5 star

R P.

Yelp
Utterly amazing, was not expecting how good everything was, great rreataurant, great staff, amazing beef dripping chips, great steak, on par with some of the best steakhouses in the US. Will definitely be going back very soon!
google avatar

Jacop Y.

Yelp
I had the bone in ribeye and it was out of this world. Great a must try when you're in Dublin.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
I recommend anyone i know who is going to Ireland to find this place immediately. I live in the US and this is undoubtedly my fave restaurant. We traveled a couple years ago there and I still think about the seasoning on the table and the delicious steaks!

Daniel B.

Yelp
The food was so-so. Maybe I am a snobby American, but a steakhouse should know how to cook a steak. Everything was unpalatably salty and kind of a let down. The decor was great, but as customer service goes, it was sorta deflating.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
Possibly one of the finest steak houses I've ever eaten at! The oysters were absolutely fantastic! The staff never stops, and everything tasted wonderful! I highly recommend if you are ever in Dublin Ireland!

Joe T.

Yelp
Excellent food. Ireland treasure. If you're looking for legit meal that's not gimmicky here's the place to go
google avatar

Angie R.

Yelp
Food. Service. Atmosphere. Ambience all there! A little difficult to find but worth the hunt. The staff was great for squeezing us in but a reservation is a MUST to get in this spot.
google avatar

Maria H.

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing ambience. We called last minute and they were able to squeeze us in a reservation for the same day.

Brett M.

Yelp
Really a pleasant night with great company. Service was first rate - delicious food - and the restaurant was full with lots of energy!

Juicy C.

Yelp
Incredible steak. All if the venues have stunning interiors with great irish charm and atmosphere.

Betty M.

Yelp
Best Steak in Dub. Every location is superb. Real Irish hospitality. The sides are too die for, especially the spinach.

Brittney H.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying the staff and the food was great. However, the night we went into dine was a mess! We had made our reservation IN PERSON for 3 people earlier that day around noon. Prepared to have a great dinner, we ordered a couple of high end bottles of champagne and ordered many of their hand crafted cocktails. At this point the server had mentioned to us due to an online reservation made we only had an hour and a half to enjoy our food. This did not make sense to me; why as a patron spending LOTS of money we couldn't enjoy ourselves and our food without having to rush. We reluctantly obliged this request thinking it's fine, we can probably finish within that time. Well at this point we ordered our drinks and server came back to take our order. We wanted to order and appetizer but were told we could not because we would not have enough time to eat it... uhm okay. So again peeved we just moved on because what are we gonna do, we were essentially denied service. Our main dish came out, we enjoyed it and finished our drinks. At this point our plates were being cleared and wanted to order dessert and again said we couldn't because they had to prepare for another party. I had it at this point, they again reminded us that due to their mistake they overbooked and they needed the table. It was completely off putting to me considering we were spending well over 500 euro for our meal. How does their mistake constitute us having to leave and not enjoy our full experience? Again spending good money in their establishment and trying to spend more they refused us. I work in a Michelin star restaurant and know a few things about service. Again, food was great but I'll never recommend any of my colleagues or any of my high end guests ever go to this establishment. You should spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
Excellent service upstairs, even for a family with little ones. Great steak and food for our first meal in Dublin
google avatar

Augie R.

Yelp
A small, quiet steakhouse tucked down a narrow cobblestone street in Temple Bar, F.X. Buckley is a terrific spot to get away from the crowds for an upscale experience. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny if you enjoy great steaks and professional service. The staff was friendly, the décor was comfortable and inviting, and the food was excellent. My wife enjoyed (but didn't love) her Filet Medallions, but I thought my eight-ounce filet was among the best I've ever had. The mashed potatoes are a creamy complement to the steak. As a starter, the Caesar salad was delicious, and this is especially noteworthy since I've noted Dublin restaurants (which do so much right) tend to serve normal salad with some sort of bland creamy dressing and call it a Caesar. Buckley's offers a great Caesar salad to start your meal.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Absolutley amazing - when In Ireland do not miss fx Buckley ! The steak was amazing , the salad was the best ever and the price was incredible

Dan G.

Yelp
The steaks here are excellent as was the service. We ordered the Chateaubriand for two which comes with every side dish and sauce the restaurant offers. Excellent. Not overpriced for how good it was.

Yelp
It's been a dream of mine to come to Ireland. My adopted grandma had Scottish's and Irish blood and always promised to whisk us away to this great country When we got older. Life happens, people get older and I was heartbroken when she passed thinking that that dream would never come to pass. Fast forward 15 years and I'm here in Dublin. After an amazing week here we decided to end our stay with the best steak house in town. Little did we know this steakhouse requires months in advance of booking. As we walked up the intimate and cozy restaurant you can smell the Fragrance of steak and hear the chatter and laughter with people around, such a lovely setting. We approached a gentleman named Greg and he informed us of the reservation requirements and I mustered up enough courage to let him know it was our last evening in Dublin and if he knew any other steakhouse that he could suggest that was even close to this place. He told us to hold on and as we waited others came in asking if there was availability and their answers were the same. The gentleman came up to us and o was expecting a suggestion but instead he said go have a drink then come back in 30 mins and we will have a table for you. This was a complete blessing! We left cake back and were seated right away. We ordered the ribeye on the bone for two which came with chips, mashed potato, onions, mushrooms, cream spinach and veggies. The food was beyond my expectation. Then meat was so savory and cooked to absolute perfection! Every bite felt like heaven and the Red Italian wine was a perfect compliment to the flavor of the steak. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place the food is absolutely amazing but the service is something you cannot buy or fake. As soon as we walked in Greg made us feel at home. His welcoming nature is what Ireland is about. Our waitress was attentive and bubbly and everyone around was so pleasant. For a restaurant to have food food takes years of experience and dedication but to have an amazing staff like this is luck and a blessing. Thank you so much for making our final evening in Dublin a memorable one! I will never forget this place, it's food and its impeccable servicei

Yelp
Sorry F.X. Buckley, I think your Yelp ratings are way over rated based on our dining experience. Maybe the high ratings propped up our expectations. The best thing that we had were the oysters, they were fresh and tasty. The steak was just ok. Was interesting how each of our steaks looked compared to each other. 2 of us ordered medium one 1 was ordered medium rare. The medium rare came out with hardly any char which was surprising. And between the 2 that were medium one was certainly more cooked even though one was a 10 ounce and the other a 14 ounce Rib Eye. Again, they were ok, but I make a better Rib Eye back in the states. The sides were okay too, nothing to write home about. One thing I do have to mention too is the size of the plates, they are huge for the steaks we ordered and to have the wine glasses, water glasses and all of our sides on the table was almost ridiculous. So for the price of everything I say, ehh.
google avatar

Neluta G.

Yelp
Great aged steak, make sure you have a reservation, otherwise you will not be able to get in. It is a very small place and you can have the table for the evening. The steak was melting in my mouth, I opted for the T-bone steak, it is huge, so sharing maybe a better option if you get an appetizer. They also have great red wines to compliment the steak. The pate that I had for an appetizer was also a generous portion and super rich, but worth every bite.
google avatar

Cyndy K.

Yelp
Cyndy's Bottom Line: Good place for a steak. Hubby was craving a steak so we stopped in. Reservations are a must. Service is good. This is what we ate: *Oysters wrapped in bacon - a delicious thick cut of smokey bacon wrapped over an oyster. Very tasty. Although I wish they would have made the bacon crispy. *Rib eye - cooked medium. A good steak. *Mash potatoes ok. *Sides of onion rings - light batter, fried golden.

Yelp
Excellent service and amazing beef! The drinks are stiff and the broccoli and a tender! Love you all!

Lindsay D.

Yelp
We had a layover here from Paris. Looking for a place to eat and our Uber driver recommended this place. We went there let and only had reservations for 8:30. So we walked around until then and it was so worth it. We got a steak for 2 and the tons of side.a. Great drinks and the staff so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must go to if you are in Dublin.

Dave T.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth all the hype, probably one of the best meals I've ever had. The service is amazing. I'm kind of a snob when it comes to steaks... these people know how to make a perfect evening. I wish I had more time in Dublin, I would eat here at least 2 more times just to try different cuts. I had the ribeye and my wife had the filet. Fantastic!!! Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Barnie J.

Yelp
I celebrating my husbands 40th Birthday dinner lasts night. It was a perfect 10. Not surprised because we live in New York and I have been communicating with Anamarie and Paula for the last two months in regards to my reservation. They were responsive and professional. They were even helpful with me ordering a cake and having it delivered to the restaurant. My only regrets is we are not staying longer as we will come back for dinner. Thank you Anamarie, Paula, and Greg for making this a memorable night for me and my family!

David M.

Yelp
Had an excellent meal here on Sept 9. The steaks were awesome, I subtracted one star for inattentive service. I'd dine here again in a heartbeat!
google avatar

Sylvester C.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. One of the better steak experiences I've had. And the host was so kind to find a space for us when they were booked for the night. The prices are reasonable here. Even though I'm not a wine drinker, the selection of wines our group chose were very good. No negatives I can think of for this place.
google avatar

AJ M.

Yelp
Was in Dublin for a bachleor party, so we had to hit up a steakhouse! This spot is small but cozy and welcoming. Our server was amazing, really funny, he even lived in Chicago for a couple years so he related with us alot. He knew we were a "stag" party so he took really good care of us with food selections, and tips on where we should go out to after dinner. The food was solid. I've had better steaks, but this place is a bargain, you get so much food and at a pretty good price. Don't do the foi gras patte, and try to stick to smaller options if you plan on going out after, but overall great spot!
google avatar

Jana C.

Yelp
Was excited to come here after reading the reviews and so glad we did. We ordered the Chateaubriand for 2. It came with all 4 sauces along with mashed potatoes, fries, onions and mushrooms and vegetables. We also ordered the crowned spinach. Everything was amazing from the perfectly cooked steak which we ordered medium rare to the delicious side dishes. The service was also fantastic. Definitely a must if you are looking for great food. Also it is very small so make reservations.

Weston M.

Yelp
Fantastic at all levels. Great food, atmosphere and ambience. Always worth a visit in Dublin!

Yelp
My boyfriend brought me here last night for our anniversary :) We ordered the sharing meal for two.....A 16oz T-bone steak with various sides such as mushrooms and onions, mash and chips and seasonal veg. When our food was first served we literally didn't think we'd finish it there was so much! However, truth be told, we didn't leave a crumb! The steak was cooked to perfection and came with 4 sauces on the side. All of the sides were to the highest standard and cooked to perfection also. The vegetables were soft, the mash potato was beautifully creamy, the chips were crunchy, and the mushrooms and onions were literally the best thing I've ever had! Too good! :) We each had a glass of Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio and it so nice, we indulged in a full bottle! The staff were impeccable and we couldn't find one fault with them, they were very friendly and welcoming. We sat for some time drinking wine after our meal and at no point felt rushed to leave even though the restaurant was full to capacity and several customers were turned away at the door. This restaurant is slightly pricey but the quantity and quality of the food is to the highest standard, you really do get what you pay for! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I couldn't find one fault.
google avatar

Nora M.

Yelp
The best steak I've tried in the city so far. Really tender and good, but their prices are pretty high. Eg: €42 for a 12 oz filet. I don't regret it, it was so good, but I've been to the butcher before, they charge way too much for just cooking it lol but enjoy it.

Yelp
It was a table of 6 for us at FX Buckley for 4pm on a Saturday and it was very busy. Something new in FX Buckley, the servers ask of you'd like to see the different cuts served in the restaurant. We were educated on the different steaks and how to order them - impressive! We ordered from the pre-theatre menu; deviled kidneys for starters and rump of steak for my main - very delicious! For desert, we ordered cheese cake to finish off and we were very happy customers.
