Great tasty food, well presented, and generous portions. Service from Adam’s was excellent and professional! And the atmosphere is lovely-surrounded by views of Table mountain, and the stunning Kirstenbosch gardens!! Highly recommend a stop for breakfast, lunch or tea.

Enjoyed a delightful light breakfast at Fynkos before exploring Kirstenbosch Gardens. Tucked near Gate 2, this casual eatery offers a relaxed vibe compared to the other restaurant within the garden’s paid area. The morning menu boasts a solid variety—our highlights were the flavorful tomato shakshuka and the savory mushroom toast. The chococino was a perfect warm-up for the chilly morning. Sitting outdoors, we soaked up the morning sun with birdsong in the background. Not a top notch cafe but recommended for a cozy start or a place to grab a quick bite to your garden adventure!

Very cool place next to the garden, great service, amazing food and awesome views! Malwa pudding was a delight! Would love to come back here.

Considering the location inside the Kirstenbosch botanic gardens I was expecting a typical tourist trap in terms of food and pricing. I was pleasantly wrong and surprised. The food was good, reasonably priced for what we good and all round everyone agreed it was worth another visit. Service was good. Afternoon in winter gets cold when the sun goes behind the mountain and our server was kind enough to offer some blankies. Good food, reasonable price, good service. Id go again

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! We were a large group (40 people) and the staff went above and beyond. From the very beginning Angelique was able to accommodate us as I emailed her to say that the group was getting bigger and bigger. She assured me that Fynkos would be able to accommodate us. And accommodate us they did!! Given the size of our group, I expected the food to take quite some time, but that was not the case at all. The service was quick, and the food was absolutely delicious. They also accommodated us so graciously with separate bills and even made extra space when a few additional guests joined us, which we really appreciated. The service was truly 10/10. The staff, particularly Adams and Juanita (but there were others), were outstanding. They made sure everyone was well looked after and handled the tedious task of splitting and calculating the bill with patience, efficiency, and genuine attentiveness throughout. A very big thank you to everyone at Fynkos, you made a lot of foreigners visiting for the Mining Indaba very happy!!

Great food and very generous portions ! We were stuffed after our soup and salad. Service was very friendly but a bit slow, so I recommend ordering everything at once and also asking for your bill at the same time

They made us feel so welcome at every step. The food was absolutely lovely, delicious, and beautifully presented. Each dish was unique and full of flavour—you could truly taste the time, thought, and love that went into every plate. Our guests commented repeatedly on how different and tasty the dishes were. A heartfelt thank you to Angelique and the entire team for going above and beyond. Their warmth, attention to detail, and calm professionalism made the celebration truly memorable. Everything ran smoothly, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Thank you, Fynkos, for helping us create a beautiful and heartfelt celebration for my mom’s 80th birthday. It’s a day she—and all of us—will cherish for years to come.

After reviewing several negative comments regarding the service on Garden Week, I would like to share my positive experience on the final day of the event. The waitstaff exhibited a commendable level of attentiveness and dedication. The quality of the food was outstanding, and I specifically recommend trying the iced coffee. It would be an excellent addition to your day before you venture into nature.
