Considering the location inside the Kirstenbosch botanic gardens I was expecting a typical tourist trap in terms of food and pricing. I was pleasantly wrong and surprised. The food was good, reasonably priced for what we good and all round everyone agreed it was worth another visit. Service was good. Afternoon in winter gets cold when the sun goes behind the mountain and our server was kind enough to offer some blankies. Good food, reasonable price, good service. Id go again

After reviewing several negative comments regarding the service on Garden Week, I would like to share my positive experience on the final day of the event. The waitstaff exhibited a commendable level of attentiveness and dedication. The quality of the food was outstanding, and I specifically recommend trying the iced coffee. It would be an excellent addition to your day before you venture into nature.

We had lunch here. All our orders tasted good, looked nice and are healthy options. Perfect after a walk in the botanical garden.

I hadn't visited the tea room at Gate 2 in about 15 years but visited earlier this week - what a lovely experience! From the initial greeting and chat whilst being seated, to the quick service and absolutely delicious meal - everything was spot on! Thank you Fynkos for such a positive experience. I would recommend getting there a bit before traditional lunch time if you are on a schedule - I sat down at about 12pm and my food was served very quickly, but the restaurant filled up fast towards 1pm. The food prices also seemed a little expensive as a local but the meal was worth the treat!

Had the most delicious salad here. I can’t remember the name but it was to die for!!! Also had the berry smoothie which was really refreshing. Will be back!🤩

The food was really good & hearty portions. James our waiter made sure we were looked after nicely. It was really wonderful to hear the different languages of many different nations visiting beautiful Cape Town. So wonderful to see & hear this after the horrible lock-down after covid pandemic. Wonderful restaurant, good service in this beautiful setting of the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens with the magnificent Table Mountain.

Outdoor restaurant at Stellenbosch gardens with very good food and drinks which is exactly what you’ll feel like after you’ve been walking around for a few hours. I had a delicious vegetable soup and an egg salad sandwich!
