Overall a good experience at G Guesthouse Itaewon! The location was great, you could get to all of the main areas in Seoul within around 30 min. The staff are all very attentive and friendly, with one member of staff bringing me an extra blanket & turning up the heating when I was cold. The hostel facilities are quite basic and the place definitely looks like a prison. However, the beds are very comfortable and have curtains, and the rooms have heating / AC. The bathrooms are ok, they’re wet room style but dry off pretty quickly, & shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. The rooms were pretty quiet at night and I got a good sleep there as there’s no bar within the hostel. Your belongings felt very safe with large individual lockers in the rooms which could fit a travelling backpack & small suitcase. There’s also little hangers in the lockers to hang your clothes which is a nice touch. You are provided with a locker key which also has your key to get into the building / room. There’s also individual lockers which you can use for your belongings after you check out. There was a fairly social culture with one common room where you also get your breakfast. I found it easy to meet other solo travellers who wanted to take trips in the daytime and go out in the evenings. There weren’t any events or socials organised by the hostel but they did give you info on tours and places to go. The breakfast was really basic, there was toast, cereal and tea, but this was very reasonable given the cheap nightly rate. The reception area also had somewhere you can refill your water, buy soft drinks and cheap amenities such as toothbrush and ear plugs. I would definitely recommend G Guesthouse as somewhere to stay if you’re going to be out all day shopping & sightseeing and need a comfy bed in a good location, but you definitely get what you pay for as it’s not a super cosy, relaxing place to hang out in the daytime.

I was only in Korea for a day but I really want to come back and i will be using this hostel! The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were clean! The staff are amazing, got chatting to a few of the voluntary workers and they were lovely, they recommended places to go out. The receptionist was a really nice guy who recommended an amazing (michelin star) restaurant where i ate for super cheap and it was delicious! Thank you very much guys, i hope to see you again soon!!

I've stayed here twice in the past year. I could definitely say this is my favorite hostel I've stayed at throughout my travels in the past 3 years. The staff are worth their weight in gold. They are so nice and connect with you on a personal level. They give the best recommendations on places to eat, drink, and explore. Shrek and Say-beok are so kind and really make sure that you feel welcome. They definitely make the place feel like a second home while you stay there. I hope to come back again soon and make more memories.

D o you enjoy hovering over a sink while you take your shower in a what feels like a concrete bunker? What about hitting your head in the middle of the night on a nice little platform for holding your phone? This is the place for you! Somehow when they went for industrial chic in the design they forgot the chic part and that design means user friendly. The floor and walls are concrete which feels cold and amplifiers all the noise from the hostel goers… Air conditioner in the room, but I couldn’t seem to get it to turn on. At this point, I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of nights in hotels, and dozens and dozens of nights in hostels… And this is among the bottom 10% . Even at 1/4 the price. I’m not sure how it gets a good reviews that it gets at all because it’s so poorly managed and my room, while being of good size felt the opposite of cozy. Every other hotel I stayed at in Korea at similar price points were cleaner, much nicer and with better more comfortable beds… The breakfast is cold cereal and toast with jam. No butter. Oh, but there is a nice rooftop deck (the reason I chose this place) where I was enjoying my afternoon beer and then one of the hotel staff told me I have to leave because it had been rented to a private party… a fact she didn’t mention when I was checking in an hour earlier… apparently she didn’t know it at that time. Someone did apologize to me later for the incident, which maybe is better than nothing? You be the judge.

A good stay for budget travellers. I chose the 4 bed dormitory because I didn’t want any problems with showering however there was only 1 toilet and shower in the room so if you woke up later you’d have to wait. Breakfast was a little bit underwhelming as they only had cereal, toast, fruit juices and coffee/tea. The location is amazing and in walking distance to many shops and bars and not far from the train station. Beds were surprising comfortable and the plastic on the bed that others complained about wasn’t noticeable. The owners are very friendly and gave me amazing recommendations for food in the area and wherever I was going for the day and it was always so good. I highly recommend for solo travelling as you can meet new friends at the hostel as they seem to gather in the dining room before going out on Friday and Saturday.

Hostel #677 Vibey area where the hostel fits right in, converted apartment block. Cool owner and a good selection of unheard of teas such as barley and burdock etc. Range anxiety - not such how many rooms share the showers and loos as often they were full. Three between at least potentially16(?) I think closer to 20-25, one toilet dish steep steps. Vibey area comes with frequent car horns throughout the night. Breakfast: no butter, fruit and strawberry jams provided. No labels. Need to go outside to reach breakfast/reception. Cornflakes, sugar cornflakes or chocolate hoops. Coffee machine take a brief moment. Rooftop, tea selection, staff are plus points. Area is fine, great to see the nightlife in the evening but the ear pluga didn't plug the mid distance beat (it was Saturday night). Dorm curtains seem standard and were welcome. Additional face towel was nice and the G logo on them Nice to have toothpaste in the bathrooms/toilets (same brand all rooms) Guests checked-in quietly at 2am but if you think you may need a check-in late and aware of the equal disturbance this is for you. It's further from the main sites, subway needed There was a mosquito though I promptly swatted in the room. Shame someone turned the A/C off in the night and I was sweaty in the morning. A few people, including me were heard whacking heads/shoulders/elbows on the metal individual bedside lamp(shade) which should be higher/further to the wall. The shower room by the window drained fairly slowly too. Aside from that, the whole place was clean.

This place is as cool as the pictures look. Just a couple of minutes walk from Itwaeon station, Line 6, it was a good place to stay.|We had a triple room (travelling with our teenage daughter) with a fridge and a microwave so you can eat cheaply from the 7eleven if you need. There is a rooftop where you can take your dinner or a drink and watch the sunset.|Breakfast is basic - cereal and toast with coffee. If you want a more substantial breakfast or brunch then pop cross the subway junction to the Original Pancake House (Hamilton Mall). Huge portions you can share!|There are water coolers on each floor.|There are big washing machines so you can get a wash through easily if you need.|Close by is Seoul Tower - suggest getting the cable car up and walking back down through the forest. One stop down line 6 is the War Museum. Highly recommend this. Excellent exhibitions with a lot of history and really well presented. Free to enter.
