G Hotel Kelawai

I stayed 5 nights at G Hotel Kelawai. Location is good , staff are friendly, and the cleaning team deserves 5 stars—they kept my room spotless every day. But… room service needs some work. For vegetarians, options are basically zero. I asked three nights in a row for something simple (fried rice and spaghetti with olive oil & garlic, not spicy). Every time, it still came spicy. By the third night, I was convinced the chef was secretly auditioning me for a chili-eating contest 🌶️😂. Overall: good location, amazing cleaning staff, but vegetarians beware—you might need your own backup. snacks.

Rooms were super clean and well stocked with amenities. Management was responsive to our request for adjoining rooms and our family had a great stay - full marks for that which made the whole stay extra enjoyable. The pool at the top is on the smallish side but it has great views and great facilities - it had changing rooms which were very clean, deck chairs provided with towels, absolutely nothing missing. Only small niggle is that the poolside bar was not open till 5pm during the weekday so I had to go somewhere else for a drink. The gym is pretty decent - with small but good new equipment. It is a standard hotel gym for guests only - hubby maxed out on the weights. Location wise the hotel was fabulous for us - with access to both Paragon and Gurney Plaza, and I love to stay on the iconic Gurney Drive.

This hotel is just fabulous. It is right in the centre of a shoppers delight with two large outlets on either side of the building. The staff were courteous and always welcoming. A special mention must be made of the Concierge - Ganeson - who went above and beyond in helping us on arrival with a lost bag left in a taxi . He tracked it down after many phone calls much to our relief . The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and there are afternoon tea events throughout the day as well. There is a beautiful pool on the top floor to enjoy. The historical side of the Island is only a short taxi ride away. The hotel is highly recommended.

Gotten assigned a corner room which seems to be larger as compared to other rooms in the middle. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Amenities are plentiful and the best thing is the complimentary drinks and snacks in the room. The gym equipment are quite comprehensive and they have saunas as well. They provide buggy service to the other side (another hotel under the same name) and shopping mall (limited to Gurney Plaza only). One thing to mention, the LED lighting looked nice on the exterior of the hotel, but in contrast it is a bit annoying when staying in the room. Forced to shut the curtain to block out the lights.

Super hotel. |Great location. |The buffet breakfast was incredible. |The best part for our group was the roof top bar. |A delightful place to re connect with friends at the end of the day with views far and wide. And the best Old Fashioned cocktail mixed by the very skilled Jordy!|We hope to return.

Stayed at G Hotel for 11 nights on a business trip. My Premier room was very comfortable and clean. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and polite and I especially enjoyed Jordy who was always very accommodating. The Hotel is walking distance to 2 very large malls for unlimited shopping and eating options. The rooftop pool and bar are excellent. Breakfast at the Spoon restaurant had the largest array of choices I have ever seen. This was my second long stay at this hotel and I will go back.

Pros : quick check in , ice cream with a face on arrival . Large room with fabulous huge bed, excellent shower and effective aircon . ( we had a basic room and it was lovely). Free minibar replenished daily with soft drinks - good if you have kids. Lovely pool, nice changing rooms . Rooftop bar great at night . Expansive buffet breakfast , choice was huge plus an egg station . We didn’t use the gym as a bit lazy but it looked good .|Proximity to the malls and eateries very good . All staff were amazing and kind . Special thanks to Mr Dhan on the door who always had time to chat and was super friendly and very helpful . We liked him so much we took his photo haha .||Cons : you will need to Grab into the |Town but we knew this before and it’s easy and cheap .

Love my short stay here for seminar. Service from staff here were excellent right from check in and cute ice creams. Room is clean and spacious with complimentary drinks in the fridge throughout your stay on top of your daily 2 bottles. Rooftop swimming pool and a functional gym equipped with machines from Technogym to keep you busy during your stay. Or chill at the bar/cafe on ground floor after a long day of touring. Buggy service on request to the nearby Gurney plaza. Lots of restaurants and international brands. Walking distance to nearby local hawkers. Will stay with them if i’m back in Penang!

The G hotel is modern and spacious and impeccably designed. The furnishings throughout the hotel are high quality and well thought out. Great job interior design team! I booked a club room. Unfortunately the hotel was at capacity and I had to wait for an hour after check in time to have access to the room. The room was also located on level 7, a short elevator trip up to the club lounge floor. Not on the club floor itself. For NYE the club room manager kindly booked an inside table for me and my guest. Although the table was reserved, our NYE party swag and wine was cleared away when we went to check out the poolside NYE entertainment. The staff were obliging to replace the wine, however our table was reassigned to other guests. The hotel room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Apart from the few minor inconveniences, the attentiveness and hospitality of the staff was exemplary- especially in the club lounge. The floor and beverages in the lounge were extremely good. Overall, a great place to stay during a very busy time of year.
