G Hotel Kelawai

Nice hotel nestled between paragon and gurney plaza. Perfect for shopping. The executive room is spacious and clean with enough power outlets. Water pressure in the shower is strong. Minibar is free and replenish daily. The infinity pool at level 24 was narrow but with enough length for doing laps. Laundry service was superb. Because we stayed at the executive room we had 6 complimentary laundry pieces everyday. The clothes were all came back pressed in an individual plastic covers. They have complimentary bicycle that we didn’t use so we couldn’t comment on that. Breakfast buffet each day had little variety so people wouldn’t get bored easily with wide range of selection of warm and cold food and drinks and traditional dished and desserts. However the evening cocktail hours by the bar next to the pool was quite basic and the staffs could be better trained. We couldn’t find staffs for refilling our wine and they didn’t seemed happy when we helped ourselves. We tried the executive lounge at G hotel gurney and it was more like the executive lounge we used to.

We are absolutely delighted with our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and impressed by the attentive service and comfortable atmosphere. Every aspect of our experience, from the cleanliness of the room to the friendly and helpful staff, exceeded our expectations. The location was convenient, and the amenities provided made our visit even more enjoyable. It was truly a memorable and pleasant stay. We are grateful for such a wonderful experience and look forward to the opportunity to return in the future. We would highly recommend this hotel to others as well.

Stayed 2 nights at G Hotel Kelawai in the Executive Premier room, and honestly, it was amazing! The room was spacious, super clean, modern, and had everything I needed, from a coffee machine to a free minibar that’s restocked daily (loved getting extra snacks and drinks!). As a solo traveler, I felt really safe and comfortable here. The bed was super cozy, and the room lighting was perfect whether I wanted to work or just chill. Plus, bathtub with view from the room was beautiful, especially at night. Had dinner at Spoon Café & Resto , lots of food options from local dishes to international ones. Everything tasted great, and the service was fast and friendly. Totally worth it if you just want to relax and enjoy a good meal. The hotel’s location is also perfect, just a short walk to Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon. Super easy to find food or just take a stroll. And don’t miss the rooftop infinity pool with cityview swimming with that city view was such a vibe. Definitely would stay here again if I’m back in Penang!

This is a very nice hotel with friendly and pleasant staff. It's located between two big shopping malls, so no need to worry about transport, just use your legs. Rooms are big and inviting (compared with small rooms in other countries).||||Our room TV had problems...a quick phone call and they sorted it out, very quickly. They delivered a new 55" inch TV to us, and fixed it on the spot, in a matter of minutes. Our closet door got stuck during our stay, and they fixed that problem immediately.||||The hidden gem in this hotel is actually 2PM. It looks very unassuming, since not many guests dine there, but I like the quiet and the food...the char koay teow was absolutely fantastic! Yes, the food takes a while to be served, but the wait was worth it. Oh yes, the club sandwich was the best I've had in a long time. No chicken slices (like what other places serve) There were chunky chicken fillets in the sandwich! The fries were so good (coming from someone who rarely eats them) The cake and coffee combo was a good deal.||||Breakfast buffet food quality could be improved, in my opinion. ||||Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves!

Had always been contemplating whether or not to try G Hotel Kelawai. Bit the bullet and here's my review;Room is spacious and comfortable, bed is top notch. Free minibar (replenished daily) is a plus. Swimming pool is nice although a bit shallow, and Gravity is a nice place to chill at night with view overlooking the island and Bukit Bendera.Is it worth the money? Yes. Location? Perfect. It'd be hard to find another hotel in Penang that checks all my boxes, and this could be it.

Good location beside shopping malls. Our repeat stay in this hotel. Also near eateries and hawker food stalls. Room is well design and bed is very comfortable. Shower has good water pressure and relaxing. Breakfast is normal and same for 3 mornings. Close to sleeping Buddha temple and Burma Buddhist temple. Will come back to this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in April 2025.||On arrival we were greeted by staff who immediately took care of our luggage. Check in was quick and efficient with welcoming staff.||We booked a Premier room which gave access to a lounge which is on the rooftop next to the pool. For 2 hours in the evening there is free alcoholic drinks and snacks with soft drinks etc during the day.||The room was spacious and immaculate. It was well serviced and a nice perk was each person getting 3 pieces of laundry done per day. It’s collected and dropped off the next day.||In the lounge we were looked after by Jordy who always made sure our glasses were topped up. He was such a polite and engaging man.||The pool area was always clean and plenty of fresh towels were available. We never saw it busy but the hotel do offer day packages for people who are not residents so there might be days when it is.||The hotel has a sister hotel nearby and we were able to use the facilities there including the lounge they had which was a nice touch.||Around the corner is a large shopping mall and a selection of restaurants and of course the beach front too.||The location of the hotel is about 10 minutes by car from the centre of town but it’s easy enough to use a Grab (Uber) and the cost is minimal (around £1).||Overall a very enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Really great hotel! From the moment you check in, you're greeted by friendly bellmen who aid you with your baggage and a welcome cup of ice cream at the reception. Rooms were spacious, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only letdown was the loud slamming of doors from all other rooms and the music playing in the hallway. Overall a really pleasant experience and one of the better hotels in Penang, having been here numerous times over the years.

The G hotel is modern and spacious and impeccably designed. The furnishings throughout the hotel are high quality and well thought out. Great job interior design team! I booked a club room. Unfortunately the hotel was at capacity and I had to wait for an hour after check in time to have access to the room. The room was also located on level 7, a short elevator trip up to the club lounge floor. Not on the club floor itself. For NYE the club room manager kindly booked an inside table for me and my guest. Although the table was reserved, our NYE party swag and wine was cleared away when we went to check out the poolside NYE entertainment. The staff were obliging to replace the wine, however our table was reassigned to other guests. The hotel room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Apart from the few minor inconveniences, the attentiveness and hospitality of the staff was exemplary- especially in the club lounge. The floor and beverages in the lounge were extremely good. Overall, a great place to stay during a very busy time of year.
