Frog porridge is, in my opinion, one of the best dishes that truly represents Singapore. Today, I brought a friend who just arrived from China here for her very first meal in Singapore, and it was a great choice. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and everything was very good. The frog porridge was delicious, and the cereal prawns were also excellent. Special thanks to Jack — his service was attentive, professional, and very thorough. Overall, a very satisfying experience. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wanted to have frog porridge and came by this restaurant at Geylang. They have 2 outlets that are right across the road from each other, with a non-air conditioned unit on the ground floor and an air conditioned unit on the second floor of the opposite shophouse. Ordered the following: - Plain porridge in claypot - Pairs well with the gravy from the next 2 dishes. - Kung bao frog in claypot - Non spicy version. - kung bao with dried chili frog - Mildly spicy. - Deep-fried frog - I find the version here just alright.the batter was thick and remind me of fried chicken. It was topped with deep-fried julienned ginger. - Sambal clams; Thks was good. Sambal was tasty. - Salted egg fried squid: This was good too. Paired the food with graft Tiger beer and bottled Tsingtao beer. Ended the meal with a dessert of aiyu jelly, longans and calamansi juice. 😋 Staff were pro-active in service and helpful. They have a good flow of customers throughout the time we were dining. Recommended! 😋👍🏻👍🏻

The frog porridge was good. However, we ordered the giant mud crab and it was not only pricey but also of very poor quality. We complained, and the captain gave us a small discount, but honestly we regretted not asking for a refund because no one at the table could eat it.

This restaurant has evolved over the decades, and I’m glad the quality of the food is still there. It’s much better staffed now too. Prices are on the higher side compared to the usual non-aircon coffee shop spots, but understandable given the setup. It seems to draw both tourists and locals. I came on a weekday around 6.30pm and there were ample seats. Food was served quickly, and portions were as decent as always. Do note there’s GST and service charge. Parking is easy as there’s a nearby HDB carpark.

I went there for dinner and it was crowded. There was 4 groups in the queue before me at 8pm. The food is ok, the porridge has strong flavor from ginger which I like because it makes the frog taste better (I choose the non spicy version). Ginger is a good choice after chilli to combine with frog. Normally I would choose spicy version but this time with kids then no.. service was ok, food came out fast. The price in menu doesn't include service charge (5%) and GST (10%)

All the food that we ordered were fantastic! My child finished all his food with his favourite sweet and sour pork and the black hokkien mee. My favourite is the spicy lala!! Food was served very quickly - all within 15mins or less so we enjoyed the piping hot food. Jack is also courteous and very attentive throughout our dining session whenever we need extra utensils. Although we are seated next to the main road traffic, the tables were spaced sparingly so it does not feel crowded. Will come back again!

Had some really delicious frog porridge! Warm hospitality (shout out to Jack who served us). High recommended for anyone who wants to try authentic frog porridge!

I visited this place to have Crocodile meat. Crocodile tail is available in the menu with 3 different sizes and small is available for SD98. The food was delicious. The small portion is good enough for 2 light eating persons. Jack was kind and professional. His service was good. The prices are a little high for the ambience and facilities in the restaurant. It's an open road side restaurant with no dedicated parking space. Also you need to expect service charges and taxes added to the price that is written on the menu.

Yelp
We came here 'cause everyone was saying it's a MUST to try frog porridge and chili crab. This place seemed to be the top place to go every time we researched where to try it. It was empty when we visited so we were able to get seated immediately. It was strange though 'cause they cook the food from across the street and you're seated on the other side. So, they needed to cross the street to bring you your order lol I used to eat frog legs growing up so I wasn't scared about trying it but omg, as soon as I saw frog spine I freaked out LOL so my husband had to help pick out just the frog legs for me and the meatier parts of the frog hahaha I wasn't that big of a the chili crab, tasted extra spicy to me so my husband had the entire crab haha he wasn't complaining lol

Yelp
G7 Sinma was quite bustling even on a Monday at 9PM, but they still had enough tables where you didn't have to wait if you didn't have a huge party (6+ people). A nice bonus is that they take credit cards, which can be tough to find for late night spots. I ended up here so I could try the frog porridge before I left Singapore and it didn't disappoint. The seating was covered, but still somewhat outdoors; they have some fans to help combat the heat though. Frog Porridge (4/5): For the uninitiated, frog porridge seems to be a local favorite that hasn't quite taken off for the touristy crowd. The dish comes in two clay pots: one with plain rice porridge and a second with a super salty, savory stew with chunks of bone-in frog. The frog was decently tender, if a bit bony, and I appreciated how much the ginger and green onions come through as well. Definitely a dish worth trying and this place is a solid place to do it.

Yelp
We got frog here and it was very interesting. It was crispy and they doused it in the signature sauce so it was very yummy. You could sit inside or on the street and it was fun to people watch. They take credit card and beers are cheap! The chili crab was also really great and yummy. I would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
The chili crab here is delicious, one thing I wish I could've tried is the manitou with the crab. They also have black pepper crab which we enjoy a bit more because it's very peppery. You order the crab in lbs and you can split the portion into two different ways of cooking. There were also lots of other seafood available which they do very well as well. Their razor clap is also really big and delicious. The stir fry rice noodle is really good!!! The rice noodles is super chewy and lots of toppings added. We ordered way too much for us two but we still was trying to force ourselves to eat.

Yelp
Located in Kallang, G7 isn't a looker. But where the decor leaves much to be desired, the food is the focus at this restaurant. It's reasonably priced, and is of good quality. We had a huge group here, and took up the entire upper level. Every table ordered family style so we had a fair array of dishes. All of the dishes, chicken, pork chops, veggies, were cooked well. The Chili crab, which is definitely the most expensive dish on the menu (prices comparable to Jumob) sauce isn't as thick as Jumbo, and not quite as sweet, but it's prerty good. The mantou deep fried buns are bigger, and in this case bigger definitely is better. All in all a good experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
This place is all about the food. If you want the local experience eat downstairs and if you want the comforts of AC, go across the street upstairs.
