Gables at Block Island Beach House

We just returned and are ecstatic! The room was clean and pleasant., the prices were VERY reasonable (less than most places on BI) host and hostess very friendly and although checkout is at 10:30 they let us keep our stuff in the storage area and provided us with beach towels until our boat left at 5:00.

This is a charming, clean, friendly place to stay. We enjoy the Victorian style decor and that there are outdoor tables and chairs, and some rocking chairs on the front porch. There are grills and picnic tables available too. It is close to the main part of town but without the problems of 'in town' noise. We have stayed in other places on the Island when with our friends, and for the amount of space you are getting for the price you are paying, you are getting a good value for your money at The Gables! We have had a couple of spaces that were not as big and we paid a premium price! We have stayed here before and we will stay here again! (The remark about it being filthy is not true. I am not sure why someone would say this, but it isn't so.)

We really loved the people who ran the inn. They really accommodated my family including two boys under 5 years old. We just came with clothes because they provided beach chairs, towels, umbrella, and even bed rails and a pack and play. We could easily walk to kid friendly beaches and downtown/ferry.
