Gaia Restaurant

I love this restaurant that one of my tour guides recommended and have had excellent food and service. They are off a side street so it’s quiet and not flooded with tourists. The hummus was delicious, the Nepali set meal incredible and their lasagna incredible. And prices are local. It is certainly worth the trip here!

An extremely overpriced place and not good food. We understand a place charging high but there wasn't any value for money here and the portion sizes weren't justified. We ordered 2 sandwiches grilled chicken - was extremely dry overcooked chicken, stale bread and zero seasoning/flavour. The vegetarian sandwhich wasn't good either, the lettuce wasn't fresh, very grainy bread. Only thing worthy was the coffee which was decent. Highly evaluate before visiting this place.

Excellent place for any meal! Everytime I go it is very relaxed. However, I am served and attended to immediately. There is a good variety of items on the menu from different cuisines. Will definitely come back during my stay in Kathmandu. Thank you!

We were the only customers when we arrived late afternoon so I was a bit nervous if we made a mistake coming here. But. The service was very prompt and friendly. Then our food arrived and it tasted like heavenly soul food ! We ordered the chicken breast smothered in a delicious sauce and a vegetable dish. We stuck with non alcoholic drinks. People were arriving when we were leaving. Highly recommended !

Gaia is a lovely little oasis in chaotic Thamel. Looking for a ‘safe’ option after an earlier tummy upset, I had the marinated chicken fillet on roast potatoes and it was divine, along with a very refreshing lemon soda on ice. The service is also exceptional. The courtyard is very pleasant during the day and the ambience at night is also lovely, I stopped in for a drink last night. You won’t regret a meal here during your stay in Kathmandu.
