Wine Lovers Should Visit These Greek Islands

"A seaside winery where the winemaker produces a herbaceous Wild Ferment Assyrtiko and a richer yet still mineral bottling called Ammonite, both notable for bright aromatics and maritime salinity." - Nina Caplan

Really surprised by the setting. On the beach, your own table and great service. Great wines and was a pleasure to visit in person. Also bonus you can spot planes landing behind you!

This place is amazing, the tasting menus are so affordable and the wine is delicious. Such a beautiful setting too, it’s right on the beach. The sound of the waves provided such a lovely backdrop. Elena (hope I spelled her name correctly) was incredible, so kind and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t skip this winery.

We did the grand tasting, and it was really great. Excellent value for money, and the wines were delicious. The tasting expert was lovely and really knowledgeable. The sea views whilst tasting were also really special!

We had a few hours before we had to be at the airport for our flight so we thought we would pop here for some wine and cheese board. It was absolutely fantastic. The sound of the ocean, the brilliant wine and attentive staff made it such a wonderful and relaxing experience before we catch our flight. I would highly recommend.

What a lovely wine tasting experience! It was raining outside and it was fully booked, but we still managed to get in. A wonderful woman told us all about the wines in detail, and at the end we even got a small tour. I warmly recommend this to everyone!

We couldn’t think of a better place to toast our wedding elopement in Santorini. The staff made the experience very special, and were very knowledgeable about the wines 🍷

Very worthwhile to have a visit. We tasted 8 different wines, first 5 were white/rose all very refreshing and not sweet at all, enjoyed a nice cheese plate as well. Our host Stella was great, she explained everything about the wines really well and was very welcoming. The setting and views are perfect. We will definitely visit again.

We visited Gaia Wines as part of a Santorini wine tour. This winery is nestled right off of a black sand beach near the airport, but don’t let the proximity to the airport deter you. Housed in a former cherry tomato paste factory, Gaia Wines takes the history of Santorini and adds to it by providing a quaint spot to try some truly local wines. If you’re used to seeing grape vines like in the U.S. or other countries you’ll be surprised to see how they are grown on the island, and their unique growing environment limits production meaning each bottle of wine is that more important to the island and the community. Ask them about the ocean wine cellar!
