OLD SCHOOL + AWESOME! At the back right of the restaurant, you’ll find a 1970’s laminated picture of Elvis. Sit under it for good luck. ALSO: the waitress kindly substituted tofu in our chicken chow mien. Three dishes came to $35 with tax and tip.

Good old fashion Chinese (Cantonese) style classic cooking. Flat noodles well cooked and seasoned just right. Yang Chow fried rice not too oily with good "wok-hey" flavor. Good generous portions too. Place is old and people there are old but their cooking kungfu is still good 😋💪

Welcome to the old school Chinatown! The price point is low and the dishes are small to match! English is on the menu, and the service is nice! Is this the best Chinese food? Not in this town, but it's still good!

Was craving authentic Chinese food and this restaurant came in the search.due to covid, it's only take out but the food came out quick. I had the pleasure of speaking to the main waitress there and she was so pleasant and lovely. This restaurant has been here for 40 years and the food was delicious. Definitely support this local business whenever you want authentic Cantonese food!

Am I in awe how this place is not busier! The food is delicious, staff and owner are incredibly friendly! Situated in the quiet neighbourhood of Chinatown and flanked by the dtes to the north is Gain Wah! This spot serves delicious Cantonese Chinese food. They have westernized dishes and truly Cantonese ones too! I discovered this spot a few months ago after getting takeout from across the road at Sun Fresh Bakery, and have been returning back every week! I've had eaten their wonton soup, sweet and sour pork, salty fish fried rice, bbq pork etc. Each dish is unique, delicious and reminds me of my childhood. Plus, the food is extremely well-priced and they give you a large portion sizes! The owners very generous too, as I once came across them offering the restaurant and food as a backdrop for a short film - for free! I will always support small business, especially one that's been a staple and anchor to the community such as Gain Wah.

Super old Canton style food. The people are super nice there and portion aren't huge but enough 👌 wouldn't go back for the food exactly but if I walk pass I would go it for a quick meal.

It's cheap but uninspired Chinese fare is a neighborhood favourite, but there's little to recommend it besides the prices. Portions are much smaller than comparable restaurants. Favourite dish: Grandma (Ma Po) Tofu. Protip: Skip the "free" soup included with the specials, it was basically dishwater with chicken bones and old cut up corn cobs! :(

Service is always fast and food is good if you are after something tasty late at night. They are so friendly and i am always met with a smile. What more could you want out of your local Chinese takeaway. (Mainly posting the menu for myself)
