I've been coming here for a long time so l feel like l'm part of the furniture. The sashimi normally comes on a bed of diced ice but l just ask them to place it on a bed of small stones - reason, l eat it quickly and l'm a local here. The menu specials are always seasonal and l'm really enjoyed trying the winter time sukiyaki for the first time tonight. I'm not sure if this will be available in the summertime. One of my favourite handroll is the eggplant and its a must try in my eyes. Tonight, due to Sydney's bad weather it wasn't busy but over the years l've seen it go from me just walking in around 8pm a getting a spot at the bar where you can see all the action to sorry Wayne, we are full - l would highly recommend you make a booking these days. Last orders are at 8.30pm. It's a very small restaurant with only one large seating table for around 6 and one for 2 to 3 people. The main bar can seat around 10 people l think and the two side bars facing the street can seat up to 3 people. By the way, they have a good selection of suki which l prefer cold. Tonight l only gave them three stars for the service as one of the waitresses finished early due to the bad weather and the restaurant wasn't busy - normally l would rate them a 4 star service.

Since Yelp was a platform for food enthusiasts to discover exceptional dining experiences, I have not returned to this establishment. Today, I had lunch with duck ramen. The ramen was satisfactory, but I found the broth to be excessively light for a duck consommé. Nevertheless, it was pleasant with a subtle yuzu flavour. The addition of tempura vegetables provided a delightful crunch. However, I found the smoked duck breast to be overcooked. I prefer my duck to retain a slight pink hue.

Been meaning to come here quite a while to try out the ramen here but also heard that the tsukemen was available so I had to have both. The tsukemen was very good. It was a fish based broth for the dipping sauce. I can't say the noodle were too much to my liking but together it was alright. The duck yuzu ramen was super good really like how they added the fried veggie for some added texture. Duck was cook super nice and loved the wonton. Went here for a lunch on Thursday and there was a line before opening. Soon after it was full but there was no line. Be sure to check menu as lunch and dinner serve different things.

Dinner is definitely overrated especially for the price. We reserved for dinner planning to get ramen but they don't serve ramen at dinner. We asked to cancel but they said they would charge $60 if we cancel. Dinner menu is underwhelming nothing special but the prices are exorbitant. A poke bowl with Wagyu costs about $125 whilst the foie gras Monaka which is the size of a cookie costs $25! Haven't tried the ramen at lunch but definitely wouldn't recommend the dinner menu here. Tip: if you want ramen at dinner and it's past 8-9pm and you're in Darlinghurst go down the road to Yorimichi, they open late till 12am.

Since we went on a Wednesday, the restaurant didn’t have uni available. The sashimi platter (P2) was pretty underwhelming—nothing tasted particularly fresh, and the snow crab was especially disappointing: overly salty and clearly not fresh, more like low-quality frozen seafood. ❌ The eel (P3) was also a pre-made product, simply thrown on the grill for three minutes. The meat was tough and definitely not worth the price listed on the menu. ❌ On top of that, one of the chefs was casually scrolling on his phone during service. Considering how sushi is made with direct hand contact, this was incredibly unsanitary and unprofessional. I don’t even want to think about how many bacteria were on his phone case and screen. The foie gras mochi (P4) was the only dish I actually enjoyed—it tasted great, but it’s very rich, so you can’t eat too much of it. This is the only item I would recommend. Now, for the worst part: the beef tongue (P5). I was shocked to find that instead of being grilled, it was slow-cooked and served in a thick, sour-tasting sauce with mushrooms that had zero mushroom flavor. The tongue itself was absurdly thick—almost like a brick—and poorly prepared, with visible taste buds on the edges (I was too disgusted to take a photo, and even thinking about it now makes me feel sick 🤢). To make matters worse, the wagyu salad had unwashed greens, which was completely off-putting. At that point, I just wanted to leave. We finished with a caramel ice cream roasted sweet potato for $20, but it was nothing special. The total bill for two people was $254—definitely not worth it. If you’re thinking of coming here, I’d only recommend the foie gras mochi and nothing else.

We visited the famous bar-restaurant in Darlinghurst, known for its ramen offerings available exclusively at lunchtime. I tried their special Tsukemen (dipping ramen), and it was a delightful experience. The noodles were thick and chilled, giving them an extra chewy and bouncy texture that was simply perfect. The dipping broth, made with a bonito base, was light, refreshing, and not greasy at all. A side of marinated cabbage added a sweet crunch, complementing the dish beautifully. The pork belly slices were marinated and served as-is, yet they tasted tender and flavorful without any overwhelming fattiness. Adding to the dish’s uniqueness was the crispy seaweed-flavored fried fish cake, which added an extra layer of flavor and texture. This is a dish that feels incredibly refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. The bar’s relaxed and inviting atmosphere further enhances the dining experience, making it a place I’d love to revisit to try other ramen options.

Despite arriving without a booking, we were seated quickly at the bar, and watching the chefs in action was fun. The truffle edamame was a standout, the agadashi tofu was amazing, and the popcorn shrimp, though not traditional, had a nostalgic charm. The lively atmosphere became more intimate by the end of the night, making for a great dining experience. 🫶🍣🥢

Yelp
Went in for some ramen dinner. They don't serve at night, totally fine and understandable. I asked when they serve, and they told me 12-2pm. So i agreed to come back later in the week. Upon leaving, we were charged 5$/person for the water we had not yet been served. And when we paid and got the bottles, we were told we could Not take them to go. So we left with a $15 charge and nothing had been served. Definitely not returning

Yelp
This is literally the best ramen I have eaten outside of Japan. They have a limited number of bowls available so make sure you get there early to get yours! There's usually a special, currently clam chowder for winter, which is so good. Chicken and duck ramens are always a winner. Round your meal off with delicious pork gyoza. Be sure to bring cash!!

Yelp
The shittiest restaurant ever. When I called for reservations, they cannot understand what I was talking about, they don't understand English at all. Then during the dinner time, they gave out food to another table let us wait for more than half an hour---an no apology at all. When I paid the bills, I asked what's that dish is, cause I don't want to pay something that they gave to another table, the cashier said 'it is what it is' Fuck you bitch, just go fuck yourselves
